For being a smaller hardware store, I am always amazed that they end up having exactly what I am looking for. More times than not, I will travel valleywide and lose hope with the thought of "I'll swing by Ace and see if they have it" and every time, this far they have it. The staff are always incredibly helpful and generally assist even when I throw a "it's okay, I appreciate it" out there. For instance, on this trip, the gentleman directed me, I mentioned I took a peek and didn't see if and it was okay that I would cut my loss. He headed over and verified and found what I must have passed several times over. As far as the product? It was would have been offered elsewhere had they had it and at about the same price. In the past, I have been very fortunate to be looking for items that are on superduper clearance. Perhaps one of these days, I'll make this my first stop and spare days wasted with travel and unnecessary purchases that I am unlikely to ever return just based on the distance alone. Fortunately, Paul's is just a few mins walking distance up the street for me. Now, it's time to lock my number in, since I'll be bisiting more often. read more

I don't come to Ace very often, but the staff is very helpful and will take you to the aisle and show you what you are looking for, and that is what I come to Ace for. Small things like 2 screws or 1 washer. I love that Ace sells hardware such as fasteners by the piece for a few cents. Ace also has key blanks that Home Depot does not have. Paul's Ace used to give an annual $5 coupon but I haven't gotten any of those since just before Covid. The reason why I am giving 3 stars, is because I find Ace SO EXPENSIVE ! I first go to Harbor Freight or WalMart, they are priced about the same. Sometimes Dollar Tree has small hardware items. I only go to Ace for things that those other stores don't have. read more

So I have been trespassed from this store. If anyone wants to know why I have video recording of it. 1. After having a run-in with one of the store supervisors Zach, where he use profanity, I left the store. I called the police. I was not given any paperwork of trespass however I didn't need it since after trying to speak with Paul's Ace Hardware I realize why employees like Zach Think that they can treat customers and talk to customers the way he did because I received the same thing from the corporate office which is on the property. So I decided I wasn't going to give money to corporations who allow and promote employees to talk that way to customers. Fast forward a year later, I completely forgot about that interaction and walked into the store today to pick up a hose I went to check out and realized I left my wallet in my car so put the hose back on the counter and walked out to my car to get my wallet and Zach came running after me asked me if I was Gavan when I said yes he told me you're not allowed in the store you've been trespassed. I asked him if he had paperwork. He said he did. I told him I was not trespassed, but if he wanted me to leave, I could be trespassed that way. He said he had paperwork so I asked to see the paperwork and he walked to the corporate office which is on the property and told me to follow him. I asked him if he wanted me to follow him he affirmed yes I want you to follow me so I picked up my phone and followed him. The subsequent conversation is on camera both him and the vice president called me an imbecile, Zach Asked me why I left the store without the hose. Then he retarded it's because you're broke you're broke aren't you? I politely told him I just needed to pick up my wallet. Brett then approached me and said he was the vice president and in the same sentence of saying that he wants me to leave. He kept calling me back to have a conversation with him. The vice president called me an imbecile multiple times threatened to spread my name on social media to try to ruin me "will take care of him" and every time I try to leave, they would call me back. So if anyone is interested or anyone above Brett or Brad, whatever his name is would like to see the wonderful ""professionalism that this store has just called me. Otherwise, I will never go to a Paul's Ace Hardware ever again and I will make sure that people that I care about are warned about the lack of professionalism in the employees of Paul's Ace Hardware. Went to the store for help in purchasing a lock for our mailbox. Arthur was very helpful and spent the time to install the lock and make sure it was working. While I was waiting multiple employees asked if they could help me. We always use Ace when we are looking for something special and have always been meet with helpful employees but Arthur went way out of his way and it was appreicated. read more

I was there for about an hour with a key that was not bent. I went home to get it and returned. So to say that your "best" guy couldn't do it because my key was bent is inaccurate and misleading. If the bent key was the problem, why was he unable to do with an undamaged key? Update: Went to Lowe's yesterday with the same key Paul's dude couldn't use. They re-keyed it and I was out the door in 20 minutes. I bought a 10 inch sawblade for $80, went home I knew it was a little expensive so I price checked it and it was a $15 blade. While I was there, somebody asked for them to change the price and they went into the system and change the price right in front of me, showing how high their markup is. I went there again today trying to get a key copied and I was told it would be over $80, Lowes does this for $5 for 3 copies. Lowes is right down the street, with a much larger selection and better pricing! read more

I was in the area and I needed a few items so I stopped into Ace hardware. I was not familiar with the store layout so I asked a male employee for some help finding a few items. He felt very inconvenienced helping me because he was stocking some paint on the shelf. To top it off I go to check out and the cashier had a really bad attitude. Yes we all have to wear masks and it can be hard to understand people but no need to treat people rudely. I had several items and the cashier ended up charging me for a gallon of hand sanitizer and I didn't realize it until I got home and looked at my receipt. Thankfully I called the manager he refunded me ($25)and was very nice. Ace is that place! Paul's has been around the hood for a very long time. Both locations I know of have been great and that go to spot for service, advice and directions. It seems there is an expert around every corner. I had some plumbing issues that needed to be solved pronto, Lowes was little to no help except they had the Water heater I wanted but failed on service, inventory and know how after that. At Paul's just about closing time I received excellent service and expert tips on how to do the job right. One of the crucial items from Paul's I needed to complete my job failed and The project was on hold, after a quick exchange the next day the same item failed again. The next day and day 3 with no hot water Paul's Ace hardware came through and stood by its products. Even with some confusion as to how that item was purchased, a manager just waved his hand and eliminated doubt and stress at the regester, and quickly solved the dilemma. They haven't been here this long because they dont care and dont stand by their inventory, They do both well. BTW the free popcorn is always fresh! read more

Every time I check out at this store and head towards my car, I think about how thoughtful the employees are and how nice it was to have a brief, but pleasant encounter to get something annoying like a new sprinkler head or door knob, etc., after a long day of work. It's almost mind-boggling to see how intentionally helpful, knowledgeable, and familiar yet professional the staff is. I don't know if it's particular to this store or if it's an Ace thing in general. This location has been my go-to for all my Old Town rental apartments and house fixes during my 20s and now into my early 30s. I've been THAT annoying customer who checks out ten minutes before closing, or have asked for them to check in the back, look something up over and over, all the retail nightmare stuff, and every time the service is consistently amazing. I've been to this store a lot during all of the Covid sh*t show and I applaud and thank every single staff member who has been so kind to their customers in a time when everyone is losing it. To the loose lightbulbs who have left less than a 5 star review complaining about the pricing or the product itself, you are idiots. You get what you pay for and it's expensive to be dumb, so save your 50 cents up front and buy online from Walmart and then enjoy wasting your time doing 3 returns because you don't have the experience and product knowledge that this staff does. I was seeking a place to get a new car key made. I spoke with Sam and he was able to order the key for me. What many car manufacturers don't tell you when you purchase a car either new or used is that there is a setting in the computer of the car for "maximum number of keys". My car exceeded that number, so while Sam was able to create my key, it could not be programmed because of something additional I need to go to a dealership for. The Lexus dealers charge $300+ to remove the keys from your car computer and then reprogram your key so it works with your car. I want to thank Sam and the staff at this Ace Hardware for going out of their way to please this Veteran. I will come back to them once I have the money to reset my computer so that they can program my new key for me. Visit this store, they're great and very helpful in many ways there. I looked for a bit and came upon Carol, who genuinely surprised me with her level of helpfulness, education and personal experience. I have visited Paul's quite a few times since purchasing my first home in the area 2.5 years ago. Every time, the staff has been very friendly and helpful in finding what I need. In particular, Steve has gone above and beyond helping me with a couple of wood projects. For the first project, the big box store could not help me. Not a problem for Steve, he completed the job quickly and even offered to drive it home since it was a large item. For the second project, Steve not only saved me several hundred dollars compared to what a framer was going to charge, he completed it in a day. After thinking about it, he was able to construct the project in a manner that was more secure and about 40% less than what he originally estimated. I really appreciated the care and honesty. This is definitely our family's go-to hardware store! read more

I have been to Paul's 3 times in the past month. Each and every time, an employee took the time and care to help me. I was unable to open the battery case on my step tracker to replace the battery. It was a struggle but successfully replaced. Same with car key fobs and lastly, custom adjusting a part needed for toilet. I would recommend this store to anyone. Stepping into a hardware store is not my idea of "going shopping". But this great little shop actually makes it pleasant and easy. And not intimidating. Customer service is friendly (minus a couple of female grumpies at the checkout counter- clearly, they'd rather be smoking). Every time I've been in this store or called, I've been greeted warmly, offered to help find items I came in for and each time they've happily pointed me in the right direction. It seems like they actually know things and give a sh..... (shovel?), unlike most of the lazies at that big box orange super store. And i don't feel completely ignorant or small when it comes to tools/supplies and just being in the store in general. If/when I need to get handy and put my big boy pants on, I'd much rather come here. Ace has all the basics for home improvement/maintenance and then some... from outdoor brooms to plungers, dishwasher products, storage solutions, cleaning tools and products and so much more (but not so much that it's overwhelming). I'll save the Home Depot runs for when we need the lumber or nursery departments and when my husband is leading the DIY show. And I love that they aren't anti-children. A couple of the employees were super sweet to my littles and the floor manager even offered them a small surprise from the toy chest- I mean, how kind is that?!? Parking is ample and it's always been a quick, efficient and successful visit each time. Kind of makes me want to come back for fun and just browse... (kind of. For the past 30 years, I have lived near Home Depot, Lowes and Paul's Ace Hardware. I have always picked Paul's Ace Hardware because they always seem to have what I need and someone is at the door when I walk in. However, Paul's Ace fails in one area, paint. They always seem to pick the most disgruntled employees to work the paint counter. Yesterday, I was looking for some foam and could not find it. I asked Zach at the paint counter for help. After a moment and a few seconds of being put out, he reluctantly walked me to where the foam is. I originally planned to bring a paint swatch but decided not to because of previous experience. I figured I would bring my boyfriend for help. Today, we brought the swatch in. My boyfriend arrived first and all I heard from Zach was it will be 20 minutes. No, Hi, No, what can I do for you, No look in the eye, just 20 minutes. Zach never acknowledged me even being there. Thank goodness I brought my boyfriend. Zach ignored us for a good 10 minutes continuing to not look us in the eye or say anything more. Another person walked up and Zach spoke to her not me. My boyfriend posted a review. The owner of Paul's immediately sent Brett to help Zach. Brett was fantastic. He did not know how to do everything, he said he was still learning but he tried and asked very good questions. Brett asked Zach for help and then Brett was able to take our order. Once Brett was finishing up and Zach found out about my boyfriends review, Zach started a tirade into my boyfriend, getting visibly angry at my boyfriend, arguing that my boyfriends the review was wrong and attacking my boyfriend. Brett did not say anything. Personally, I think Brett was scared to because Brett has to work with Zach. After a good 2-3 minutes of Zach going at my boyfriend, I finally spoke up, had to tell Zach to stop and I also told Zach he needed to walk way. I had to say it at least two times. Zach finally walked away. Brett said the owner offered us a discount. We did not want a discount we wanted help without the abuse. Brett said they had too because the owner would be looking. We did take the discount so Brett would not get in trouble. Brett deserves 5 stars for helping us along with putting up with Zach. Zach deserves 0 stars and a very strong conversation. Based on Zach verbal attack on my boyfriend, I am not sure I will go back. Clearly there is volatility there. We did not deserve the tirade. The paint counter at Paul's Ace is definitely not a safe space for anyone male or female. read more

EVEN though they have the machines right there to do it. Are you frickin kidding me!? I now have to drive to another Ace hardware 30 minutes away that's not owned by whatever ass-hat owns these Paul's stores to get it done. Nice customer service! You can count on me driving to another STATE if I need anything from a hardware store before I go to any of these. Way to lose a customer! If I could give zero stars i would . I am a local business owner of multiple businesses who uses ace for products for our business daily. The way this location was ran and the management was completely irresponsible. We had been calling all over for some hand pull paper towels which are hard to find right now . We found them at this location. Called to make sure they were available . Was told in stock and available . Sent over one of our employees to pick up a few cases . When she got there was told she wasn't able to have them due to " it had been raining and they are put away" . She was told this by the "manager". She called me and I called back to find out what was going on. Once on the phone with me, I asked for a manager , to which I was told by an employee no problem we can get the towels for you sir. The Ace employee got the towels for my employee , which happened to be up on a shelf close by , only needed a small ladder to get them. My employee was told " you can only have one case tho, when I asked why and pushed the issue it wasn't any problem to get the second case , which happened to be right next to the first one on the shelf. No explanation on why we were even told this. After all this happened and my employee left , I called back to speak to the manager Named Brandon" . I wanted to find out what all that nonsense was about . I was extremely upset at how this was handled and how my employee was treated. Brandon made some excuses and was combative and argumentative and finally just hung up while I was asking for the corporate info... YES HUNG UP! He would not tell me why we were told we could only have limited amount , and kept saying , well, we needed a ladder to get them. Also when I asked why we were turned down the first time, I was again told "it had been raining and they were put away". Yet he had no answer and even seemed irritated when I bought up the fact they were available right there on the shelf . His reply was actually " well we needed a ladder" To which my reply was " you are a hardware store...Clearly you have many ." I will be drafting an email tonight to corporate. As a business owner, if ANY of my employees let alone managers acted this way they would have no place in our business. Ace needs to do some management training and employee handling . read more

40 year resident. 22 year volunteer full time at Parrot sanctuary. In the 1980s the original owner supported me and my organization with donations of hardware that I use to repair cages and donated items to support the 800+ birds. I have only ask for help 4 times in 20 years and only nuts bolts not electronice or expensive things which I personally purchased from Axe not to over step my request. They have always been honored with open arms. After his death in 1991 only one request. The new management have not followed in grandfather's footsteps. I submitted a written request to a manager on our stationary with the 501C3 tax deduction information and was told they will call me. That was three weeks ago. five days after the request during a shopping trip I inquired from a manager about the statis and was told some things were being brought in from another store and they would call. I called a week later and was told no managers were on duty but that she would see to it that a manager would call. Five days ago my called expressing her displeasure with no response from people making several trips a week from myself and staff. A manager advised her that he would "Pass the information to the head man" who would call. I just don't think the old days would have been quite like this service.. End of storry. read more

This is one of the two Ace Hardware stores I shop at. I come to Paul's if I'm stopping by after or during work. I am in the middle of rearranging/decorating our guest bedroom. After I started moving things around, I realized that the outlet setup in the room is horrible! I needed an extension cord. I made Paul's my first stop yesterday during my lunch hour errands run and pull into the parking lot to see a BBQ going on. I bypass the BBQ tents and head inside. I am greeted and told where I can find the extension cords. Another employee is standing in the isle I need, and asks if i need help. I tell him what I'm looking for and he says, "Well you've found the right isle!" He walked me down the isle and showed me the different selections. After I explained what would be plugged into the cord he pointed me to the Ace brand, which was the least expensive. 6ft cord for less than $2.00. I grabbed 2 and headed up front to checkout. Checkout was quick and the cashier said to make sure I stop by and grab lunch for Contractor Appreciation Day. So, for under $5.00, I got 2 extension cords...and lunch! SCORE! :) I've bought anything and everything here. From having keys made, glass cut (a new section of pane), to gardening supplies. This is my during work hours and immediately after work Ace! PS - The guest bedroom is officially in order now! I'm sure J's nephew will appreciate not sleeping on the floor tomorrow night. LOL read more

Nothing but excellent customer service every time I come here. A few months ago, an amazing young lady helped me with figuring out how to place a curtain rod over a set of blinds (a neat and professional way). There's actually a product online that has a piece you can attach to the headrail, but it wouldn't fit the type of headrail I have. With some ingenuity and her advice on what nuts to use, I figured out a sturdy way to add curtain rod brackets to the preexisting blind brackets without having to remove the blinds. The prices are slightly higher than big box stores or online, but it isn't unreasonable. And to have good customer service--I'm willing to pay more for that. Just wanted everyone to be aware that certain products at this Ace Hardware are not returnable, and they do not tell you that when you buy the product. I don't know how many products this policy applies to, but in our case it was bolt cutters. We bought a pair of bolt cutters a couple of days ago and they didn't work. So we took them back with the receipt and we were advised they don't accept returns on bolt cutters. A manager came up and looked at them for about two seconds and said they would not take them back. I said that you should warn customers about this no return policy, but he just turned and walked away. This is probably the worst customer service I have ever received from an Ace Hardware. read more
