The bolts between the toilet tank and bowl had rusted and was leaking. The home warranty company sent people out that said they were special order bolts, and then rejected the claim because there were "missing pieces" (by the way, I do NOT recommend Advanced Home Services for plumbing needs). In any case, came here, told Adrian the problem, he sold me a $8.50 kit, then took a few extra minutes and told me step by step how to pull it apart and replace the bolts and seal. He did not need to take that time, but he did, and I really appreciate it. Totally allowed me to be confident in what I was doing. read more

I am blown away by the amount of options this place has! This is exactly what I've been looking for and I'm glad I stumbled upon it. Christina Cook helped me figure out which toilets to choose for my condo remodel. She was so nice, helpful and knowledgeable about the products they had. I learned from my contractor, investor friend and Christina that the upside of shopping at plumbing supply stores compared to the big box stores is that even though the products look the same on the outside, the insides are different hence how the big box stores are able to charge less. Due to the inside of the products not using as high quality at the big box stores, it can lead to other potential problems like needing repair/replacement more often. I'd prefer to pay a little extra for less headaches and better made products. The 2 Kohler toilets I picked out were actually a tad cheaper than the ones at lowes that were the "same" product on the outside. I have to be honest and say that the assistance. professionalism and the amount of customer care I got when I visited this store several days ago where they helped me exchange my water heater, from the moment I spoke with Cassie over the phone she made me feel welcome. since most plumbing supply stores wont work with the public without a licensed contractor. This store informed me that all home owners and general public are welcome to enter the store whether they have a contractor with them or not. Mike assisted me when I arrived, with a smile eye contact and a friendly greeting, helped me get my damaged water heater out of my truck. helped me load the new one. Nice and friendly service and advice in pointing out the accessories that I needed to add and replace. In a friendly manner. This place really knows how to make a customer feel valued. A few days ago I had a fantastic customer service experience with Josh, General Manager, at Standard/East Tropicana location. Josh found the exact porcelain princess (not-so-standard) parts. Josh went over, above and beyond with assistance, answered all of my questions, including what to ask for in what to find in an installer to help me with installing parts, and resolve leak repair & clog. Recently moved into the area and needed to grab a few things for the new house. Called the store and talked with Josh, he knew exactly what I was asking about and told me they had it in stock. When I got to the store Josh greeted me and told me what isle to find the time I needed. He also me find a few more things I needed. When it came to check out he gave me a discount on a few items without me even asking! It's an equal distance to Home Depot or here, I will always make sure I go here first in the future. I'm always happy to help out a local store owner and you won't get the same type of personalized service at the major stores unless you seek it out. This plumbing supply is located off of Tropicana Avenue between Eastern and Maryland Parkway. It is behind the 7-11 right after Spencer Street. The have both a showroom for huge household plumbing needs and a small parts store. They are very knowledgeable as well as friendly. Many places that do home repairs, cough cough Ferguson Plumbing, can be assholes to the women who enter their store. But, the men at Standard were accommodating, and nice. They even joked around a little bit which makes it much more comfortable to be a customer. I would suggest this Plumbing supply to any women looking for plumbing parts and also for any men who are frustrated looking for plumbing parts you can not find at other stores. Anything they do not have in store they can order online. So it is no bullshit to get your house fixed up, even though you only do it on Saturdays. Rip off Back a few months ago I had been in this location to purchase a mixer valve cartridge ($52.00) for my Tub & Shower. The fella at the counter opened the plastic box so he could check the size of the one I brought in. Making other purchases I was busy getting other things gathered while he was checking the size of the cartridge. Once home 12 miles away I noticed the new valve was missing a rubber gasket and the brass was oxidized. Looked like I got someone's old cartridge. I looked on the receipt, which stated there was a 30 day return policy. I immediately called to let them know I needed to replace the new cartridge. The counter guy said the store was open for the next few hours and I had plenty of time to make it back in. I then drove the12 miles back into town. Since it was the same day I assumed to get a replacement, my shower does not work without this part. However once there, they essentially called me a liar and said they do not do returns on these parts. I pointed out the 30 day return policy on the receipt and they pointed to a letter (with 12pt font) posted 10 feet behind the counter regarding saying they do not return those parts. They then refused to replace the part, telling me I could of used the new part and brought the old for a return. I said I need a working cartridge not a return. They refused to replace the part sold. Since I needed a working part I ended up going to downtown and got the part for about $10 less. I will never buy anything at Standard Plumbing Supply again. Do yourself a favor to not go there. read more

Today I went to Standard True Value Hardware on E. Tropicana Avenue in search of some tiny set screws. I was greeted at the counter by a courteous and knowledgeable employee named Tom. After explaining to Tom the hard to find hardware I needed, he was able to locate them almost immediately. It was then I realized that I didn't have the proper tool to install them. At that point, Tom went to his personal vehicle, returning with a brand new toolset, which he gave to me at no charge, so that I would be able to install the hardware I purchased and complete my project.
