We stopped here on our way from the Grand Canyon to Albuquerque. What a fun little stop. This spot, of course, celebrates the iconic line in the Eagles song. When you are standing there, you can actually hear the song in your mind. The place is well kept, and there were people there continuously stopping to take pictures. There is also a "standin ' on a corner" store, right across the street that sells items related to the song, Route 66 souvenirs, and other things. It's a large store, and the prices are reasonable. They do offer a military/veterans discount. The friendly lady was telling me that yes, they get people from around the world, coming to see the spot. The very first time I passed through Winslow many, many, many years ago, the main thing I remember, was the grinding poverty. This town still has its challenges, but Route 66, and this park, , have gone a long way in helping the revitalization of the town. This was a short stop, but a very fun stop. I'm glad I came. A cute stop thru Route 66.... I was in Pine/Strawberry en route to Flagstaff. Somehow I missed the turn and ended up seeing signs to Winslow. So why not! It was fun to see the sights. I actually loved the big guitar more than the corner. I didn't take pics standing there but I did drive by a couple times. I saw other cute sights like a theater, post office. I wish I could have seen a grocery store as I was so thirsty but I prob wasn't in the right streets. Enjoy my photos! read more

Being a huge Eagles fan for most of my life, I was excited to check out this cool stop. Located in Winslow, Arizona this cute town took a lyric from Take it Easy and created this tourist corner. How often do you get to live in a song and experience a classic come to life right before your eyes?! This is such a fun experience. The Standin' on the Corner Foundation has done an amazing job recreating the iconic Eagles song. For us, it was certainly worth the short 10-minute drive/detour from the interstate. You can make this a quick stop or take your time enjoying all the murals, great photo opportunities, and more that downtown Winslow has to offer. There is a historical railroad station, several historical buildings around the area, souvenir shops, and places to eat all around this location. This is a dog friendly attraction, dogs to be kept on a leash. Further down, there's the Winslow Bark Park located by the 9-11 Remembrance Garden also. As for restrooms, one of the souvenir shops had a restroom, and parking in the area was easy to find. So, go "Take it Easy" and enjoy "Standin' on a corner in Winslow Arizona." ;-) read more

Lighten up while you still can, don't even try to understand, just find a place to make your stand and take it easy. -The Eagles, "Take It Easy" (1972) I don't know if it was a highlight of my trip but it was certainly a "must do" as I passed through Winslow for a detour onto Route 66. This is the famous corner referenced by the Eagles song "Take It Easy" https://youtu.be/AaBw37-nWaY and yes, the statutes are not Jackson Browne (the one closer to the corner) and Glenn Frey (further away from the corner). The street parking is free, there are quick eats nearby if you want to cool off from the Arizona heat with a frosty beverage. Pop down the street to the World's Smallest Church while you're here. As for "taking it easy," I don't know that I can do that. I enjoy Yelping and as much as they disappoint me with their actions, I'll still be adding content to the Yelpiverse. It is very nice that this small AZ town has created this small piece or nostalgic Americana. It was really easy to get here and it was quite quiet when we did. This little downtown has a small park to accommodate this, but really appears to be a bit of a sleepy town. Even in the downtown, there wasn't a lot of things to do outside or snapping a few photos. This town could be so much more, especially with the Amtrak so close, but right now it's a sleepy little town. I am curious to see what happens to this spot as this song ages out of the majority of the generations who know this reference. If you're in the area, I'd recommend you check it out! read more

Winslow to there credit took that line and created a very cool and unique roadside attraction. The corner is in what I'd describe as an old small town downtown area. Right across from park and statues they added a few novelty shops referencing the song and lyric and a few food establishments that fit into the theme nicely. Cool and creative attraction. Glad we stopped by on our cross country road trip. Now I'll have the song "take it easy" stuck in my head for weeks. I didn't have the heart or the guts to tell the novelty shop and shoppers that I prefer the Travis Tritt cover version to the Eagles version. read more

They have your usual southwest souvenirs to peruse and some rock and roll stuff... I thought I might buy something, if there had been a restroom to use. There was not, so I had to move on. If you are visiting the Roadside America/Route 66 park corner across the street, I expect you will probably at least enter this shop. You will have the tourist trap experience you expect. read more

OK - get off I-40. Go to the Posada Hotel, which is a piece of Southwest history. Maybe even have lunch. Then go to the Standing Corner, look around, walk to the park next to the railroad track. Gift shops? If you like looking at that kind of stuff, sure , if not skip it. But a little time to look, learn and stretch your legs. The Eagle reference is cute, but learn about the Fred Harvey Company. In Feb 2021 they were restoring one of the old red stone buildings between the RR tracks and the corner. How do you not stop by here for a quick visit while passing through? The community was very smart to erect these statues and take advantage of Jackson Browne's clever lyrics. Visited Winslow AZ for the first time recently. Can't go to Winslow without checking out the "Standin' on the Corner Park" made famous by the Eagles song Take it Easy. The weather was cool that day so there was only one other tourist group there. It's very cool with statues, great signage, the flat bed Ford, etc. Of course, we had to take our picture there ! There are also several gift shops and restaurants in the area - not much else going on in downtown Winslow. Fun stop - don't miss it if you are passing near Winslow AZ! read more

Great spot to stop and get a gift. Right across the street from the old JC Penny store, and catty corner from the Sippe Shop. Prices are moderate and the greeting is very friendly. Talk to the girls at the counter and ask them anything ... they lived here their whole lives. Well recommended, we will return. read more

We stopped in Winslow for lunch and to grab a few pics at the corner made famous by the Eagles song Take It Easy. There were two souvenir shops on opposite corners. If you're here, go for this one, the smaller of the two. We found the prices to be a little lower and the owner to be very friendly. And make sure you return the favor and take pictures for some other tourists. It was about 7:30 when we stopped the car to stand on the corner in Winslow Arizona. The gift shop opened almost as soon as the car stopped and the Eagles music also started to play. The gift shop is well stocked with route 66 memorabilia. The prices seemed reasonable and I considered Route 66 suspenders however, try as I might I could not think of where of when I might use them. Like many of the places we stopped there was a visitor's book to sign with your name and where you are from. Despite being winter, not the prime tourist season, people from all over the country and world signed the guest book and they all stood on the corner of Winslow AZ. read more

Visited Winslow for the first time recently. Went into Standing On The Corner RT66 Gift Shop and would not recommend this store nor will ever purchase anything from this venue. The clerk was unmasked and had a bad cough yet still waiting on customers. She was very rude when another customer asked if she needed a mask. I asked her to put a mask on and she rudely told me she didn't need one so I placed my items on the counter and told her then I would take my money elsewhere. Went across the street and made several purchases. Found out from other stores she is an anti masker and anti vaxxer, which is her choice, but don't cough on customers or work with public when you're clearly sick! read more

If you're a fan of the song you'll probably be disappointed in the corner. It evokes nothing of what I thought it would. I saw in my mind's eye a corner on a dingy street, drenched in sunshine with a hot chick and a flatbed Ford. What I GOT was a tourist-saturated draw that showed me no history. It was like a plastic street corner. I just gave it five stars because, hey, the Eagles. But, I got to say that I was there. That's enough for me. read more

Ok, keeping a town alive via a song is a bit hokey, but who doesn't love a little hokey? Yes, we stood on the corner, took our pictures, got a great shot of my wife next to the ford (my girl in a flatbed ford!) and visited a few shops in town. The town is quite nice, built to handle the tourism and the 911 memorial on the east side of town has you feeling you're a proud American. We enjoyed a very good Root Beer float (now that's Route 66!) and were glad we came. read more

The store is pretty well stocked and prices seemed decent. The biggest issue we have with them is the poor and most unfriendly service we had experienced on our Route 66 trip. The older ladies in there had nothing to say to us and would push by in the isles to do whatever it was they were doing. It wasn't we were dressed wild or drove into town stirring things up, we were just a couple tourists that took a bunch of pictures at the park, spotted the store and stopped by to pick up a few things wearing just t-shirts and shorts. We ended up buying nothing because they were so unfriendly and rude. Don't know what their issue was but I'd recommend other shops before this one. Two stars instead of just one because the place is well stocked. Zero stars for the employees. read more

Great experience with this shop in Winslow, AZ. They are right across the street from "The Corner" in Winslow. Great variety of souvenir items, as well as military items, biker gear, great tunes and very friendly folks!!
