I am proud to support the Stanford Blood Center , and would suggest that those persons that are able make time to donate Blood this season. There is an increased need for blood during the Holidays so make time if able. The Stanford Blood Center was created to support the needs of Stanford Health Care, and the Lucile Salter Packard Children's Hospital. Stanford is one of the leading Medical institutions when it comes to both the research, and care of rare, and complex pediatric diseases , meaning your donation has the chance not to just impact one life, but potentially countless thousands. For those able to travel to Stanford you will find yourself in the best possible care, with easy street parking, amazing staff, yummy snacks, and the safest of donation centers. Plus as an Extra Incentive between now, and December 11th, 2021, you will receive a voucher that can be redeemed online to have a Special Holiday Long Sleeve Shirt sent to you. This year a collectible snowman themed long sleeve shirt is being provided so Make a Heart Melt , Donate Some Blood This Holiday !

Wonderful staff, always friendly, a great place to donate. I have been donating for the last 5 years at the Stanford a blood centers (this one and their 2 Mountian view/ Palo Alto locations) and I absolutely love all the locations. This place is super convenient, staff is super friendly, helpful, and the whole donation process is seamless. They try to make you feel comfortable, and your donations saves lives! Parking: they have parking in front and by the park, super convenient Donation time: varies, it depends on the day, the most I have stayed for one is 2.5 hours, but typically it's a little over an hour Customer service: they are friendly and super kind Since there is a blood need and only a small percentage of people can donate, for those who can, check out this place! They make you feel comfortable while donating blood Overall, great experience as always

This is review for their mobile blood donation. I went to their mobile bus for blood donation today at PAMF San Carlos. I made appointment online for 10am slot. Did pre checkin answering all questions in the morning thinking will make it faster and more efficient. Arrived there before 10am. Signed the signup sheet and staff check my appointment and info. Asked me to wait outside the bus. There were like 2 people in front of me i think they were also 10am slot. Waited outside for 20min and see people with 10:15 appointment also coming in. Re-entered the bus asking staff estimate on time to wait further. They said 30-40 min. I saw only 2 person giving blood. I doubt 30-40min is a true estimate. With few 10am appointment still waiting and 10:15 and probably 10:30 coming soon, I did them a favor and told them i am leaving without giving blood. Why they open more time slots for appointments than they can handle?? Or they think people have all the time in the world to wait for donating blood. Poor capacity planning and inefficiency is ruining a good thing. Other 10am ppl were also frustrated. I did donation before on mobile bus pre covid but not with Stanford Blood center and never has issue. I am not going back to waste my time with them. Maybe Menlo Park office is better but will have to take the risk driving down South. Anyways, try them if you have all the free time to wait and no need to other things in your life on that day. Allocated 2-3 hours at least even with appointment!!

i gave blood in january and chose this location since it is super convenient to home (on the border of menlo & palo alto). parking is super easy as they reserve all of the spaces in front of the shared office building for blood donors! upon arrival, they had me read relevant literature and enter pertinent information via ipad. after, i met with my phlebotomist (aka staff member who would be conducting the blood donation) who reviewed my healthy history and did a mini physical to ensure my blood pressure, iron count and temperature were all normal before proceeding. since i'm a petite woman, she also made me stand on the scale to ensure i met the weight requirement (not a usual thing, but i understand since i'm only a little over the 110lb weight limit). to be honest, i hate needles, absolutely positively hate them. but, i LOVE being able to donate, volunteer, give what i have especially if it's useful to someone else, a community, or a great cause. i have blood type O+ which is universal, and always in high demand, so i try to give when i can. my phlebotomist put me at ease, did all the prep work, sanitized all her instruments, then inserted the needle. the last time i did this, 5 months earlier, i weighed more, and i filled the bag in about 9 minutes. this time, i actually did fine until the last few minutes, when i suddenly felt nauseous and light-headed. immediately, 3 staff members came to my side and started helping me, pumping my legs, trying to get me to breathe, drink some water, stay awake and not fall asleep! within a few minutes, i was fine, but since i had this reaction, i had to sit in the chair a bit longer, until they felt/observed that i was ok. i was actually covered in sweat, it's like i had the chills and sweated through my clothes! i was then led to the recovery "canteen" where i was given water/juice and choice of cookies, apples, chips, pretzels while my body recovered from the phlebotomy. i was asked to sit longer than the typical donor since i had a reaction, but that was perfectly fine with me since i didn't want to have any issues driving home! the canteen supervisor was very friendly and checked on me periodically. when i left, everyone was very friendly and repeated said they were happy that i was ok. i couldn't have asked for a better set of staff to be there for my blood donation. hopefully, the next time i donate, it will be a smoother experience for me, but i'd definitely return to this location for their 5 star service and customer care!

Everything about Stanford blood Center is hundred percent terrific. Easy parking right across from Burgess Park. Great staff. You are doing something for your fellow man/woman/baby by giving blood and you are regenerating new fresh blood cells which can be very healthy for you. Check it out. After you finish your seven or eight minute blood draw you get the most Delicious cookies from the pacific cookie company served with pineapple or orange or guava juice by a blood bank volunteer. What's not to like? I am a 10 gallon donor and I tried to donate every six months at least.

SO happy to finally learn a way to pass my hemoglobin test. It was such a pain to keep failing and having to come back.

I've been donating to Stanford Blood center for about 7 years, partly as my way to give back since Stanford Hospital saved my Dad's life when he had an aortal aneurysm many years ago. This place is great, Tony at the front desk is super nice, friendly, and seems to make an effort to call me by my name when I come in. Nancy is awesome too. And I enjoy the snacks in the canteen (the POG juice is my favorite). I try to bring a friend when I go - it's more fun that way, and you can help double your impact. I want to share a little tip I learned, about getting your Hemoglobin up. I used to fail the hemoglobin test every other time, unless I went out of my way to spend weeks prepping beforehand, to make sure I'd pass. Sometimes, even if I did prep for a few weeks, I'd just barely pass or sometimes still fail. I'm vegetarian and tend to be slightly anemic, so my hemoglobin tends to be around 11.5 to 12 (which is not necessarily unhealthy, but not high enough to donate). Anyway, I used to feel really frustrated when I'd go in and fail the test, sometimes even after I spent weeks prepping. Sometimes I would forget when I was supposed to prep, and I kept trying to suggest to the people at Stanford (when you call in to make an appt) that since a lot of other people fail the hemoglobin test also (someone at SBC told me that), they could probably get a lot more donations if they could give people a friendly "call reminder" like 2 or 3 weeks in advance, that they could use blood in about 2 weeks, in case they wanted to prep for the donation. In my mind, this could get them a lot more successful donations (I was barely able to donate 4x per year because I kept failing). Because it cost me a lot of money to prep for the donation, because I bought things like Hema-Plex (a blood builder) and Visalus, and drank lots of green shakes the 2 weeks before a donation. I couldn't afford to do all this on a daily basis, it was just too expensive, these last few years. So I was super relieved to find something that is cheap, reliable, and works REALLY WELL to get my hemoglobin levels up: Prenatal Vitamins (at least, the Nature Made brand I get). I could not believe it when I donated one day and my iron level was 15.1... higher thaan my friend who is usually in the 15 range because he eats lots of meat. I am posting a picture of the type I buy. It's super cheap when it's on sale at costco ($15.99 for a 5 month supply, so like 3 bucks a month for a supplement with easily-absorbable vitamins and minerals). I can't tell anyone else what they should take, but it worked so well for me, I had to share this. Now, I can donate 5 or 6 times per year, AND schedule my appointments for every 8 weeks (whereas before, it was a crapshoot). I should also mention, certain supplements can actually lower your iron levels (like calcium or oregano oil). I had been taking those for a while, to heal a tooth abscess, and could not figure out why I just couldn't seem to pass my hemoglobin test. Finally one of the SBC technicians (the people who do your hemoglobin test) told me that. So I thought it might be worth posting that here. You can see some pics of my iron levels after I started taking those supplements. I haven't failed a single hemoglobin test since I started taking these, AND not only are they cheap, but they're easy to swallow (even though the pill is fairly large) and they don't make me nauseous (long as I just take 1 per day). According to one of the reviewers on Amazon, it seems that men can take them too (check with your doctor if you want to be sure). There are 6,870 reviews for it, mostly positive. Cheapest price seems to be at Costco, when it's on sale (at least 2x per year). $15.99 on sale, or I think $19.99 "regular" price. I know, prices may change. Anyway, I couldn't be happier with this stuff and had to share! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07BXVFC32/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B07BXVFC32&linkCode=as2&tag=9430102-20&linkId=59ce6ab4efa1f3af7de14f0abecd7146

Apparently, it has been 11 years since my last donation (I do live a thousand miles away), but according to their records this was my 48th donation to the Stanford Blood Bank. Before that, I gave regularly at the Red Cross. The Stanford Blood Bank maintains several facilities in and near campus. Located near the Menlo Park City offices (and across the street from one of their parks and the city's sports park), this is a particularly nice facility. Both the staff and volunteers are very friendly and nice. More importantly, they are skilled, efficient and very gentle. If you are healthy, give to your local blood bank. They always need blood and there's no greater gift that you can give to your community.

Plastic surgery is a very personal decision, and this was not something I rushed into…read more For over five years, I was dealing with drooping eyelids, heavy brows, and constantly seeing my upper lid and lashes in my vision. It progressively got worse, and I found myself relying on Botox and under eye filler just to manage it. At a certain point, I knew I didn't want temporary fixes anymore. I wanted to address the root of it. During that time, I asked everyone I knew in the Bay Area for recommendations, and I kept hearing the same name... Dr. Lieberman. After looking into his background, it made complete sense. Stanford, Cornell, advanced facial plastic surgery training, double board certified, and fully specialized in the face. I chose to move forward with Dr. Lieberman at L&P Aesthetics, and the experience felt incredibly personalized. I had direct access to him throughout the process, and he personally checked on me during recovery, which meant a lot. He actually called me himself multiple times to talk through the ptosis repair because I wasn't sure if I wanted to include it. He was very honest that I likely wouldn't be happy with my results doing just an upper bleph alone, and took the time to walk me through it until I felt completely confident in my decision. That level of care, especially from someone with such a busy practice, really stood out to me. I ended up having: * Upper blepharoplasty (upper bleph) * Lower blepharoplasty (lower bleph) * Ptosis eyelid repair * Fat grafting under eyes, temples, and smile lines * Perfractional laser resurfacing From a results standpoint, this wasn't just cosmetic for me. My vision is clearer, everything feels brighter and more open, and that constant heaviness in my forehead and eyelids is gone. I also had one eyebrow that sat noticeably lower than the other my entire life, something I never loved but never planned to fix, and now they're finally even, which has made such a difference. As I had been aging I had lost SO much volume in my face and the fat grafting really helped a tremendous amount to bring softness back into my face. But what really stood out to me was how thorough Dr. Lieberman and his team were throughout the entire process. They didn't just focus on the outcome, they walked me through the full healing journey in detail, set realistic expectations, and made sure I understood every possible scenario. I never felt surprised by anything during recovery. I will say, healing does require patience. Especially with ptosis repair, where your eyelid muscles are relearning how to function. There were moments of dryness, swelling, and days where I just didn't feel 100%, more tedious than anything. But I do believe Dr. Lieberman's technique is incredibly advanced, and that played a big role in how manageable the recovery felt overall. If you're researching upper blepharoplasty, lower blepharoplasty, or ptosis repair, just know it's more than before and after photos. The experience, the surgeon, and the guidance you receive matter just as much. For me, it was completely worth it
