The service was good. They set up the appointment within a day. The PT person was very good, knowledgeable and helpful.

But it has long-term…read morecare for as well, therefore it is still considered a nursing home. 3 Elders would share 1 room with 1 toilet / bathroom here. It smells at this nursing home. Social worker who works here is unlicensed since California Law would require social workers to have a licensed social worker if the facility has 150 beds or more, in which this facility doesn't have. Without a license it's hard to keep the social worker accountable. Social worker here threatened us with laws, yet she herself wasn't licensed and our complaint to the California Department of Public Health for their wrongful actions caused the facility to receive a ticket. The social worker and management here tried to keep our loved one here longer than intended to continue to bill the insurance which was shady. Once Medicare started to not pay as much any more for short term care during the pandemic, then we find it that the social worker kept pressuring us to get our loved one out. The social worker here kept interrogating us if our loved one had 24 / 7 care when the nursing facility here had patients who became infected with Covid and passed and they themselves had elders who had falls within the facility. The owner had both a long term and a short term care facility. Their ultimate goal is to find a way to bill the patient's insurance to the max. or sense of actual care or compassion. Don't keep your loved one here. We had financial elder abuse and emotional elder abuse incidents with them. Luz was an unlicensed social worker and the most abusive and unprofessional social worker I've seen in my life. Let alone she has a thick accent. She acts like she's some sort of law enforcement officer when she wasn't even licensed, and her intent was to keep the elder at the facility longer to keep billing their insurance. She doesn't let the elder get the COVID booster. She acts like you don't have the right to talk to her. The most bit...y, ugly, non-compassionate. and most lazy social worker I've ever seen. Don't be afraid to argue against her. I am pretty sure many have verbally fought back against her. She should go to h..l for being abusive towards family and elders.

The level of care, compassion, and teamwork from everyone there truly stood out. Huge thanks to the therapists, nurses, CNAs, social workers, case managers, activity staff and all the staff who helped care for our dad. You can really tell that everyone works together and communicates well because everybody was always on the same page regarding his care. That gave our family so much peace of mind during a very stressful time. Their holistic approach made a huge impact on our dad's recovery, and they also provided so much emotional support to our entire family throughout the process. The staff was patient, kind, attentive, and always willing to answer questions or help whenever needed. The facility itself was also very clean, organized, and well maintained, which we really appreciated. Thank you again to the entire Cedar Crest team for everything you did for our dad and our family. We will always be grateful.

She also developed bed sores and contracted RSV during her stay at Cedar Crest, where we never saw the doctor personally, as well as two separate nurses almost double dosing her dayquil dose had I not called them out (the earlier nurse did not log in her initial dose). Most nurses were impatient with my mom. It was hard to watch, and still to this day traumatic to remember. We had submitted our complaints, but to their advantage we were grieving her death too much to get into pressing charges of carelessness and neglect. Do. Not. Come. Here.

Under PT Xu, Ben, Nurse Annie, and OT Debbie's professional guidance and instruction, my older family member has already been making remarkable progress and now can throw/kick balls/balloons, do sit-to-stands, sing & speak loudly, brush teeth, comb hair, and spends most of the day mentally & physically stimulated & engaged in activities rather than sleeping on the bed. Our older family member's progress would not have been possible without their expertise, support, and perseverance. Nurse Annie is incredibly compassionate, smart, and detail-oriented & improved our family member's lung function and bedsore treatment/prevention. Debbie & Ben are diligent and creative with their PT/OT approaches, tailoring it to each older adult's interests and abilities. Stephanie is meticulous in cleansing and taught us all sorts of techniques to more feasibly do regular cleanings. We are grateful for amazing and experienced healthcare personnel like Dr. Xu, Ben, Debbie, Stephanie, and Nurse Annie who go the extra mile to take care of their patients. Each visit from these staff members is filled with cheer and new learnings. Thank you for making a positive difference.
