Well I tried to just reschedule it on the benefitsCal website, but the website will not allow me to schedule the appointment. So next option is to call the welfare office and I cannot get anyone to ANSWER THE PHONE, I called 4 times yesterday and Ive called 3 times so far today. I tried calling just to get another medical card mailed to me and I could not get through and I called several times for several days. I ended up having to go into the office only for them to call me while I was IN THE LOBBY to take my information for my card to be mailed out! I've also tried uploading files and updating information through their website and nothing happens until you call to tell them that the information was sent in, but most of the time you have to physically show up just to tell them something has changed or else your case goes unattended. And the fact that they make you go through such an extensive automated system just so that, at the end, they can hang up on you is so extremely frustrating. One of the people assigned to me also didn't fill out my application correctly even though I tried explaining my situation to her several times. They never answer they're phone call I had moved to another county I drove all the way to Stanislaus just cause they didn't answer my phone call all week . And needed to urgently change my mom's medical , transfer . I ended up pulling to the front desk , after the lady asked what I was gonna do , then I told her I wanted to moved counties . Because I was having issues on getting a new health plan . Mind you the lady said I don't think u can do this ur mom needs to be here I told her ok well let me get a number . I got a number 088 - Called up talked to a worker then she immediately told me my mom was in active as in they just decided to put her off I had backup proof told her what the paper was saying then she says ok u have sjhp . It should be a state mandated policy that all calls be answered or at least screened by a human being every day. We pay taxes for the administrators of each county office. It's inconceivable to me that upon calling, someone goes through a lengthy ID process and then is told there is too many calls, told to call later and hung up on. These are the types of systems that keep people from receiving necessary services and in a constant cycle to struggle for basic needs. The system has been designed to fail its citizens and no one ever questions it. People are kept in a powerless state because of aged systems, understaffing and are low in the governmental funding and policy priority scale for change. It's not only a denigration to our society in need but also to the foundation of the American idea of "social services" in the first place. There needs to be a change now! read more

Yesterday, I was on hold over 2 hours and got disconnected on. 2 times I went in person to the office off Hacket in Ceres and never got assisted. So I came here hoping to get my ebt card and also everyone there just carries a long face and doesn't seems to be happy. Anyways I went for my ebt card & I went Thursday and Friday and didn't get the card and they informed me they wouldn't know when the card would come so that I have to wait or keep coming back. Mind that I live 30 minutes from here and don't have a car. Anyways I go on Tuesday to pick up the card and it wasn't there, I call up a case worker and they tell me that the card was there and they canclled it bc I didn't go for one day ... and then the people at the county try lying saying they never got a card . When 2 different case workers told me they did.after the lady I spoke to said they would hold the card for two weeks & they cancled it because I didn't go for ONE day. It's just ridiculous how unhelpful these people are. The First Lady that "helped me" had Dwight from the office all over her office. And the Second Lady had blonde dyed long hair located on the same side as the lady with the Dwight decorations. These two ladies were unhelpful and lied to my face. This place needs new workers that can smile and have good customer service. We all work and are tired, but we should all have some respect for each other. These people all look very dull and sad and like they hate their jobs. Im writing this review because it's frustrating how unhelpful these people are, and I hope someone higher than them can do something about it because even now i have been waiting on the phone for 40 minutes trying to get in contact with Stanislaus county, they are very difficult to reach. read more

I made a call today to the Medi-Cal office of Stanislaus County and Virginia answered. I believe TODAY was my LUCKY day! I realized there was a problem with my account and had been through the ringer!!!! Talked to this person and that person transfered 6xs to 3 different numbers when Virginia answered my call! That was THE GAME CHANGER. She went above and beyond to solve all MY issues. Virginia is living proof that you don't have to get lost in the system. She gave me new hope in OUR system that I have never used before today. Thank You Virginia. We need more reps like yourself! read more
