I brought my 2007 truck there due to a blown motor he gave me a price and said he would replace the motor. I got my truck back after a month or so, check engine light was coming on and it was burning or losing oil to the point of needing 2 1/2 - 3 quarts of oil in between oil changes And there was a wire hanging down in my wheel well on the passenger side, and my hood was bent, and hesitant to start at times. I dealt with Paul because we knew him, he said they didn't take my hood off so the dent could not be something they did so I was like ok I had no way of knowing for sure. Took it in second time got it back still all the same issues. Then in trying to get my truck back in there to get the things fixed that should not be happening with a new motor it took forever he would ignore my text, tell me I had to call the office where no one would answer or tell me I had to call at a certain time, I work as well can't call just when ever. He Would not give me a time frame of how long he would have it. I finally got it in there he had it another 2 or three weeks (the third time and I live 45 min away). I found out he did not do any of work other people working there did, I was under the impression he would be working on it himself. It turns out the code meant there was something wrong with the wiring which he tried/is still trying to say was not their doing (I'm pretty sure you have to disconnect everything to replace a motor), it was wiring attached to the PCM; something happened with it that is what was causing the code. The oil leak was coming from engine valve cover gaskets. He says the hesitation to start is possibly my starter going out. That was not an issue prior to any of this but I know that can happen. In dealing with Paul this last time he would not talk to me he would have his daughter talk to me, when I said he needed to call me to discuss the cost of fixing the wiring issue she said I doubt that will happen but I'll tell him. Instead of calling he messaged me on messenger. We get it all worked out and I go get my truck on my way home I hear a rattling noise and it turns out my dash is cracked everywhere. I send him pictures he says he has no clue his guys would tell him if they did that - that they didn't have to do anything with the dash - I'm not a mechanic but my dash was not like that when I dropped it off - But I tell him ok. I'll figure out how to fix that myself. I go to message him and he has blocked me. So very unprofessional and it makes me sad because he is a friend of my children. But I won't be back. read more

As a former automotive technician of 12 yrs, raised by automotive technicians and world class technician as a father of 40yrs in this day and age it is extremely rare to find good and knowledgeable technicians. The customer service is excellent. The environment is relaxed and professional. Will be coming back for any automotive needs or uhaul services. It's a nice breath of fresh air. Just had pep boys in Gastonia mess up over 10 decently easy repairs and did body damage to my e90 BMW with horrible service and additude. Best local shop since moving to Stanley!! read more

Stanley Automotive. I had work done on my 1992 Ford van. Never again. The mechanic broke more than he fixed. Ford has discontinued all of the parts the mechanic broke and now I have to locate replacement parts PLUS find a competent mechanic to install them. Mechanic CLAIMED to have experience with Ford products and in doing this repair, NOT SO. Not only did he break hard to find $200.00 parts he also did not fix the problem I wanted to have fixed. Mechanic did sloppy job of reinstalling dashboard and did not connect electrical connections plus he left light bulbs dangling and dashboard pieces loose and not properly attached. I could get better repair work at a kindergarten and not have my parts destroyed by this idiot. Find another repair shop! read more

I will never go here again. I used to take our vehicles here to have work done and inspections done. I never had any problem in the past, but then my husband called to rent a U-Haul from this business and was told the amount and that we would have to fill the gas back up so we wouldn't be charged. We done exactly as told and even dropped it off a day early. Once I started going through our bank statements a week later I realize that we had been overcharged for the U-Haul by $70 so I called the U-Haul place to find out what was going on, the lady I spoke to told me that the guy that owns Stanley Automotive charged us extra mileage 40 extra miles! My husband then called the owner of Stanley automotive and spoke with him about this issue. Come to find out the truck was not even parked in the same spot that we left it and the owner even told my husband he thinks someone else drove the truck after we dropped it off. My husband then told him that we were requesting a refund for the extra miles that we were charged. The owner told my husband that we would see a refund in 5 to 10 days. It has now been six months and no refund has been issued. We have done everything we can on our end so I guess we're just out of an extra $70. I will tell everyone I know not to go here. read more
