This is an adorable little shop located on the main strip of Keokuk. This little pastry shop has been in business in Keokuk since 1967 and for it to still be in business today you know they have to be doing something right! Stan Waldron started this business back in 1948 in Anamosa and then moved with his family to Keokuk in 1967 and opened this location. He has since passed away but his family has taken over and it's business as usual. They make anything from pies to cakes, cookies and the ever famous creme horns. There is a collage on the wall of their creme horns being eaten all over the world! Pictures from Berlin, Madrid, the White House and the Grand Canyon to name a few. It's been said that creme horns from this bakery shop have been eaten on every continent except Antarctica! So it's quite obvious what I came here for, the creme horns! I was not disappointed at all. I ended up getting a half dozen so I would have some to take home also. The outer layer was so crispy flakey and just a hint of sweetness and the creme filling was amazing! Not too sweet, just enough. If this place were any closer to my house I'd be there every week to get treats! As far as payment, they accept cash and check only so prepare yourself for that. They also have limited hours. They are only open Thursday Friday and Saturday. Definitely check them out if you are ever in this area!

They have the best apple fritters I've ever had. Go early because they are really popular.

I have always wanted to check this place out but have never had the time to. I would pass in Quincy…read moreand see the big bubbles to sit in outside and all the advertisements. I needed to check it out. They do have a parking lot in the back on the side road. I was on a hunt for pastries otherwise I would have went into the front entrance. They have a restaurant setting/full bar in front which I did not try yet. But I know they do brunch here as well. I went to the bakery section in the back, where the lady who worked here was super nice and friendly. Gave me so much information. They had little chocolates. More flavors than you could imagine. Peppermint bars, Cookies, and candies. I bought a cinnamon roll because holy hell, the cream on it looked so bomb. And I bought a half dozen cupcakes. Each cupcake was around $2.25 each. They looked crazy. I had to buy them. I bought an Oreo cream , some peanut butter bliss, a wedding cake and s'mores flavored cupcakes. They were beautiful. The people who make these things put a lot of work and effort to not only make a cute spot to go to in Quincy. But also so you can bring their hard work home with you to share with your family and friends. Will be coming more often!

I ordered cupcakes and when I saw them I didn't think they were decorated very well. First time…read moreordering. Just looked like scooped icing with a spoon and sat on top of cupcakes. Just orange and a pretzel. Just plain. I asked for different shapes of frosting on top but all the same. I will try again maybe take a photo on. I appreciate you doing my order.
