I have been wearing glasses/contact lenses for over 25 years, never had this kind of bad experience with optometrists. First of all, Stanton optical is not honest about appointment details and how much you need to pay. They do great marketing and talk nicely over the phone when you make appointment. They charge you $45 per eye exam, even if your insurance fully covers the eye exam. Because, they want you to buy eye glasses from their store even if you need only contact lenses. (That $45 is applied towards eyeglass if you buy one from them; otherwise it's gone) This is a fine print in the agreement and they dont tell you when you make appointment. I suspect lot of people dont read this fine print in the agreement and just sign it. I strongly advice anyone to read the agreement (that they give you in a iPad), and dont check the checkboxes until you fully understand and agree to the terms and conditions. Also, there is no optometrist you can talk to in person!!! It's all telehealth. If you need a personalized experience with an optometrist, this is not the place. WORST STORE EVER - Do not go here. Misleading prices 2 glasses for 78 dollars hahaha you won't be able to walk out the door paying under 250. I was told I had full coverage for 2 years as well to replace any damages. I went the other day and said they changed policy and it would cost 20% of the frames cost to fix. Also don't go unless you have at least 2 hours . The customer service is the worst I have ever seen I was told I will be with you shortly about 10 times from several employees. I been low on cash so I decided to use their facilities.Plus we moved to far from our regular eye doctor. The employees were really nice and helpful. But I walked in and the two ladies working that day had to catch up on their personal business before I was help. They did greed me but after standing there waiting. 10 minutes or so. But that's ok I was not particularly in a hurry. But I noticed that machines are not being wiped after issues went into examination room and the eye machine was all blurry do to smug on the glass. I heard a lady say that they should clean it but after I walked in it was still dirty. I don't think I will use them again first and last for me. read more

Worst experience ever! Absolutely no customer service. I did not feel taken care of as I did with competitors. Took my two children in. One for an eye exam and both for glasses. We entered at 3:45 and did not leave until 6:15. The eye exam was not free as advertised. They claimed insurance didn't cover my daughter but it did for my son. So one child did not get glasses. I want to start off by saying that, the service I received today at Stanton Optical from start to finish was exceptionally good. With that said, here goes my story/review. I have been procrastinating getting an eye exam because I thought I could purchase computer glasses that were in my eyes (no pun intended) cheaper at a drug store. Not only would I have saved money by going to my local drug store, but the time spent would be less of a burden, since I wouldn't have to take time off work for to go to an appointment. However, these past few months I noticed my vision has gotten a bit worse, as I feel myself straining my eyes a lot more when I am on my computer, to the point where I have constant headache's at the end of my work day. That's when i realized my eye prescription had changed. This morning, I decided to call Stanton Optics to schedule an appt in order to take advantage of my time off. My eye exam was booked within 5 minutes of making my call for an appt scheduled (at my request) an hour later, that same day. As soon as I entered the store a gentlemen introduced himself as Chris. He took me over to the eye exam waiting room where I was checked in promptly. Dr. Chris White (yes, ladies and gentlemen both individuals that assisted me have the same first name). Dr. White listened to all of my issues. He even went as far as letting me sit in front of his computer to help gauge how far I sit from my own computer at work. Dr. White was a true professional, very personable and not at all grumpy like other optometrists I have interacted with in the past. After my exam was completed, the othere Chris (sales manager) took me over to examine the frames that were available in their store. I must say, this process took the longest simply because I am a very indecisive person. Through my back and forth, Chris stayed with me the entire time. He helped me figure out by narrowing down my selections, which frames were the best fit for me based on my likes and dislikes. Never once acting as though he was annoyed, or like he had something more important to do - as I have experienced this type of mannerisms in the past. Needless to say, I walked out of Stanton Optical with my new prescription (free) and two sets of computer glasses - I took advantage of their "buy one frame, get another frame for free," special. I also received an AMAZING deal, too good to pass up. In closing, the entire staff was fantastic. But the two people that stood out were Dr. White, who managed to restore my faith in optometrists and of course Chris the sales manager. Chris managed with his hard work and outstanding customer service to make me a permanent customer of Stanton Optical. His consideration, committed and confidence managed - IN MY EYES - to elevate the overall success of this store and of course my overall clouded misconception of optometry stores. His tenacity and dedication to his job, is one I have not seen in quiet some time. If I could give negative stars I would. I called for pricing. I was told it would be $99 for the exam and 2 pair of glasses. I scheduled an appointment for my husband. His appointment was at 2:05. I waited in the car during the exam but I knew he would want my opinion on glasses. Finally at 3:15 I got a text WTHeck took so long? I go in and the selection was not great but we finally decided on a pair. I was NEVER told that there was a limit of about 10 pairs of BUTT UGLY glasses that qualify for the 2 for $99 or we would have stayed home. The exam was done by a doctor (possibly) on a computer monitor. That's right, he never saw a doctor in person. When all was said and done it was going to be around $200 for ONE pair of glasses that neither of us liked all that much. He is a diabetic which is why at 53 yo he now needs glasses. The lady had the nerve to say we needed to pay for the non doctor exam. Nope I don't think so. They really need to communicate their pricing a lot better and actually get a REAL in person doctor. read more

I took my dad in for a eye exam because he needed glasses and I figured since he was in town i would take him. I know we were walk-ins and if they had at least just stated that they couldn't see us and to schedule a appointment that would have been understandable BUT when we walked in we couldn't get anyone to help us at first. Once I was able to talk to someone (the optometrist) his response was well do you have a appointment I said no bit since there is no one in the entire store can he just get a exam he then rolled his eyes and told us to check with the receptionist. The receptionist wad nice and very helpful and got us back right away unfortunately thats not where the rudeness ended the optometrist felt the need to make my dad feel bad about not having a appointment and how lucky he is that he is willing to see him . Its hard enough to get someone who is uncomfortable with doctors, dentist ect to go in and get the necessary work done don't make them feel like shit because you are lazy and didn't want to see a walk in purely out of the fact that you didn't want to work. Moral of the story the optometrist at this location has terrible chair side manner and you should get your eyes checked elsewhere if you want to be treated with respect read more

I cannot express how filthy dirty this place is. I am not one to complain but having being there twice I feel the need to share what I've witnessed. First visit the first thing I noticed was the carpet didn't look like it had been vacuumed all month. Debris everywhere. Carpet is fraying and the fixtures that hold the glasses are filthy-dusty and falling apart at the top. Thank goodness the purpose of my visit wasn't for myself but for my MIL. The gal who helped us took awhile as if she didnt know what she was doing. Turns out, after we picked up the glasses a week later she ordered them with a tint on them even though we told her NOT to. So there goes another 2 weeks wait. As we go to pick up them again they hand us this paper bag with my MIL glasses. No eye glass case. Just tossed in a bag. We do not recommend. Sometimes the service outweighs the visual eye sore but this place was horrible. I woulndt give it one star but I have to in order to post a review. read more

I went to Stanton Optical about 2 weeks ago and I had a wonderful experience. Had a free eye exam and walked out the door with 2 pairs of glasses for 59.99. The downside would be they don't offer alot of "value" glass frames like the promotion says. You have to look through all the glass frames to find the value ones. I did have a wonderful sales manager named Alicia and she was wonderful and went above and beyond. She helped when I asked and showed me where exactly the glass frames were. She was very bubbly and helpful. Also they didn't have my lense prescription in stock. I had to come back 2 weeks later but that's the typical wait time for glasses. 6 weeks ago my wife had an eye exam and ordered two pair of glasses from Stanton. Right away there were problems. It seems the computer program used to order glasses was not working properly and the technician couldn't finish the order at the time. We were told it would be corrected and she would finish the input then. Fair enough. Stuff happens. The glasses arrived Stanton adjusted the glasses for my wife and all seemed well. However, a few days later she said she was having a hard time seeing through them and went back to her old glasses. We took them in and after some checking we were told that the lab had made them incorrectly and had placed the correction area too high. (They were progressives.) We left them to be redone. Three weeks went by and when we hadn't heard from them she called to ask the status. The person who answered said they couldn't talk then and that they would call her back. Two days later we still hadn't received a call back. My wife called again. Same results. I called and was told that the lady had a customer in front of her and said she would call me back. This was understandable and good customer service: serve the person who is there first. However, I never received a return call. My wife stopped by and the glasses were finally ready. She brought them home last night and they seem fine.....so far. I am having cataract surgery now and planned to get an new glasses I may need from Stanton. I'll be looking for another vendor now. While Stanton's prices are good their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. The frustration wasn't worth the cost savings. Dan A. read more

I went here because Costco doesn't accept VSP insurance any longer and I needed glasses for my oldest. I asked three times if I could really get glasses and exam for 59$ and they said yes. At check out we selected two budget frames and we're told for her lenses it would be a total of 427$. They did bring it down to my budget but we couldn't get the glare guard and other normally free stuff. I won't go back. read more

I have been here a couple times already. In terms of the quality of my glasses/frames and eye exams, this place provides reasonably affordable deals (at least if you have the right vision insurance/coverage) and adequate eye services. Every member in my family have had at least one pair of glasses from here, and they seem to be fine. Stanton also has a nice selection of frames to choose from, a lot of which are today's current styles--which I like. But probably biggest turn-off of this place is the customer service. Patient service is alright, as that is a different 'sector' and that's when the optometrist is left in charge. But the processes of getting your appointment and dealing with transactions with the salesmen are a MESS. The management at every Stanton including this one I've been to is just very disorganized as a whole. They need to think up of a better system to make customer service more hassle-free and smooth/efficient. Every time I come here, the eye exam is not what takes long, but it's the process of waiting while the representatives/salesmen scramble around all disorganized. My guess is that most of the staff is still very young and inexperienced. read more

I'm not sure why this place has so many bad reviews. I recently visited 11/28/15. My daughters glasses broke in half while visiting family in the area. We first tried LensCrafters, they couldn't help because we were leaving the next morning to return home, another local repair shop was closed as was a second optometrist. Stanton was open and was able to go from start to finish, we picked frames, my daughter had a quick exam from a tech, then an exam from the optometrist, then waited while they cut the lenses and put them in the frames. All told we were out of there in 2hrs and 15 min. (We spent about 15 min choosing frames, the rest was on them). I have only two critiques. 1) they were quite busy so it took about 5 minutes before we were approached. 2) while everyone wears white lab coats, most of them are quite dirty. (They just need to wash them with bleach more often). Other than that I was happy with the customer service I received, the turn around given our time constraints, and the selection of frames was impressive. read more

Sadly, I was there for about a full hour (my appt. was at 11am) before I got helped, people who entered after even got helped first. HOWEVER. YOU'RE NOT GONNA GET TWO PAIR @ $78.00 (THINK $150- $250) Used 3 times for 7 pairs of glasses in two years. This is a quick and dirty option for cheaply made frames and glasses, make sure the user is gentle. You can get the quality pair from your eye doctor for $500 which last two years or you can spent $150-250 one year, and $150-250 the next to replace these glasses which easily bend and break, you know the usual quality from China especially for kids, However the glasses do their job, the technicians are very pleasant, but stock of frames particularly in the "value" selection is extremely limited. Overall the costs are the same the quality of the frames are not, it depends on whether you want to spread your costs over two years. Pay me now or pay me later. read more

When I came in for my appointment staff wasn't neither friendly or rude. In fact they hardly spoke to you unless they had to, and they did so without enthusiasm! Lol and then I was there for my scheduled exam and buy 1 pair of glasses get the 2nd "free". I paid $400 for TWO pairs of glasses and paid extra for their lenses and lenses add-ons. It's now been 3 months and I've received only 1 pair of glasses. Every time I call (once every week) "they'll be there this weekend". I'm starting to think 2 for 1 was a scam. If I get refused a refund AGAIN this might need to be reported! I'm at a loss. read more

Like everyone else, saw the ad 2 pairs for $59 but already know it's never what it's advertised for! Took my husband there and spent over $400 for 2 pairs got the photomax transits glasses for both pairs( We used to paid over $300 after insurance for one pair with transits at Kaisier a few years ago)! We were excited about it after what the lady who was helping us told us about how it turn dark even in the car and and show us how dark it gets but when we got them we were not happy about it! Was disappointed! Didn't even turn grey in the car and my car's window is not even tinted! Long story short, did a walked in and Sue took care of us! She was super nice and let us exchange for a polarized sunglass! Our experienced with them are great but before that i saw on yield how awful their customer service are and blah blah blah.....glad we give them a chance! Thanks! read more
