multiple bait and switches. I went into Stanton expecting the 70 dollars for two pairs special. At first, I went to the optometry department for a prescription. the receptionist told me that I would have to pay 30 bucks just for the optometrist check up and it will be teleconference. I told them fine because I did want to wait. After I got done, I asked them for a copy of the prescription. The receptionist told me the optical department will have it. The optical department told me I will see it when I pick out my frames. so I picked out my frames and walked back to the chair with the optician. The optician pulled out her sheet and told me my glasses will cost me 500 dollars for two pairs. I was sticker shocked and asked her to give me my prescription to price shop. she refused and asked me one hundred dollars for a copy of the prescription. I asked her why. she said it was because I was not buying from Stanton and must pay more for the prescription. I told her no and make another demand for the prescription. she then went to the back and came back with the quote of two hundred dollars. Now, I have regrets of even paying that price because I feel like these sobs will try to con me with some cheap junk. read more

What a joke after I walk in I told the girls I'm here for the 2 for $59 they should have told me about my prescription having to qualify. I picked out my glasses. These frame were both $19 after my exam I went to pay. My prescription was to high to qualify for the deal. Instead I qualified for the buy one get one free. Which would be a total of $249 i told her I can't afford that she said "we have a payment plan" I told her I will never have that money. what a joke & waste of time .I still had to pay for my exam which was $95 and left with no glasses. We brought our own prescription from another doctor, and got a much better deal here then we could have there. We are so glad to get two pairs, one regular one and one for sunglasses. Martha helped my mother and she was amazing! Once my mother and I picked up her new glasses we noticed they were cracked. So we drove back to Visalia. When we arrived I communicated to another employee that our new glasses were broken. He was absolutely rude, didn't show empathy for our long wait and having to return to Visalia. He didn't even seem like he cared at all. All he spoke about was how the high quality of the lenses prevented the glass from fully shattering. It must not be that great if they were cracked before even being used! He disappeared without letting me know where he was going and came back to tell me it was going to be a 30 minute wait. It's saddening to me that this places has horrible customer service. I expected more from this place after spending 400 dollars on glasses. I will no longer bring my mother here. If I could give zero starts I would. Scheduled two appointments got to them and was told the doctor could only see one of us and that we would have to come back the next day. Got one eye exam for contacts and got the other exam for glasses. Looked at glasses and ordered two pairs. Employee never gave us back our insurance card and when we went back the next day we were told it was on his person at his house. WTH?!? Waited past my appointment time for my contact fitting and never even saw the doctor! Why did I have to even come back then?! All I was given was contacts and told to try them on without even having my eyes measured for the fitting. Couldn't they do this yesterday?! Waste of time. Then we were told that we would have to come back for our insurance card. No apologies on the HIPPA violation just shrugged it off as no big deal. To top it off they had music playing that had F-Bombs being dropped with children in the store! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! This is extremely unprofessional and I will not be going back other than to pick up my products which I am not even sure are the right lenses since I was never fitted. Think twice before coming here. The prices might be cheap, and so are their attitudes after they don't sell you something. Martha was very pushy, and got clearly upset when we only wanted the prescription, no glasses. You could see a very clear change in her attitude. Big problem when you are seen by Stanton Dr. and given glasses when you should have been at a real eye doctor for cataract surgery. My husband is a disabeled veteran and they sold him glasses! No mention of CATARACTS! 6 months later we find out that they are really bad. No wonder he could not see very well. He stopped driving till after surgery. Go to a real eye doctor with the equipment to give you a complete exam and take care of your sight... these people just want to sell glasses. How could they not tell him?????? read more

Horrendous service frame broke within 6 months but they were under warranty so I went in and even with the warranty I still had to pay another $74 for the replacement pair. Which after 3 months never came in I kept getting runaround they kept telling me they'll be in next week lol every time I called I finally went in to get my money back and that was another hassle after finally speaking with the manager I finally got the $74 back they say 2 for 69 but I doubt anybody even gets that price I ended up paying over $350 and 1 set broke pretty quick I'll never go back read more

Got an eye exam and two pairs of glasses. Excited because they said I could wait and get them in 15 minutes. As soon as my glasses were ready I was rushed out. No one asked me how they fit or if they needed adjusting. During my 15 minute wait, I went outside to call my husband, and the staff told me I could only use the side door because if I came in/out the front door it would lower their sales to people ratio. Strange. I also watched them tell multiple other customers the same. Got home and inspected the glasses. Both frames had sticky residue on them I couldn't get off and one was yellowish where it should have been clear. And I realize the didn't give me my prescription. Went back the next day because BOTH frames were defective. One was discontinued and now I'm left trying to pick out another pair. I spent over an hour in the store because other customers who were purchasing glasses came first. And the staff was more worried about their lunch. I'm also sure the new frames I picked out were cheaper than the first, and even asked several times, but was just told "No". No explanation. No price breakdown. Nothing. I'm sure they just aren't concerned with over billing my insurance or refunding me the difference. This was my first try with Stanton, and after this, I won't be back or recommend them. Why can't I rate using "Negative" stars???? So where do I start? In hind site, I should have done my homework. I made appointments for my Husband and I to get our eyes checked. We arrived at our scheduled time and were seen almost immediately. It started going downhill from there. They took us into a room containing two machines.They sat us (one at a time) in front of the first one, had us look at a green dot, then done. Next machine was for the glaucoma test, it puffs air into your eye. After that they took us to the "Doctor's" room. He asked a few questions, took our old glasses and used some kind of machine to determine the prescription, then started with the "better one or two" exam. (I was really surprised that there was no dilation to check eye health!) Anyway, the eye exam was VERY quick. The letters were never completely clear and when he would ask, "better one or two", my answer was always the same "they are both blurry, but one (or two) is a little better." Choosing frames was not a problem, there was a fair selection. We got three pairs each. One for everyday use, one for computer work, and one pair of sunglasses. They told us that our "computer" glassed would be done in an hour. We went back to get them and they were ready, but my prescription was not right. The Rep at the counter tried re-measuring my eyes, adjusting the focal point, but the glasses still weren't right. (He did this twice) I spoke with someone different the third time, she seemed to understand and was able to get the prescription right. Two weeks later our "every day" glasses came in, they were ok. For the next three weeks, I tried to get my sunglasses. (My Husband's were ready the first week of the latter three) Once again, my prescription was wrong. They replaced the lenses in mine twice and they still weren't right. Finally someone said that the prescription might be getting distorted because the lenses were large and that I had to pick out a smaller frame. So I did. I started receiving phone calls saying that my glasses were ready. I went back and was told they weren't there yet. (I live 45 miles away from Stanton) I received more calls the following week saying my glasses were ready, they weren't! Finally, after the third week, my sunglasses were done I tried them on. All seemed well, they finally got my prescription right! I was happy they finally had them right. My Husband asked me, " did you check to make sure they are polarized?" They weren't! We went back to Stanton and explained to them that we had both ordered polarized lenses. The manager finally got involved (if that's what you want to call it.) My husband tried to express his dis-satisfaction with this whole experience, just to be ignored. The manager kept his back to my Husband the whole time he was trying to speak to him. We paid $80.00 per pair for polarized lenses, and they were trying to give me tinted lenses! Instead of waiting for another new pair, we asked for a refund of the cost. They did give us the refund, but never an apology. PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!! WE WON'T BE BACK! read more

Very bad customer service. I made a phone appointment to get my eye glass frame repaired and I described the problem exactly and I was reassured that they repair those. They asked for too many details to even make the appointment like date of birth etc. I drove 40 miles and when I went there the agent looked at the frame and asked me if this was bought at their store and when said no he immediately returned to me and rudely declined service. He was super nice until he found out it was not purchased from them. He asked to me leave and go to the store where it was purchased. They could have told me that over the phone and I wouldnt have wasted my time and gas. read more

I spent $500 on two pairs of glasses, frames weren't even designer frames, I don't understand why they were so expensive. I bought the warranty because my son plays sports so I knew we might need to get them adjusted or fixed. The frames didn't even last a year, poor quality considering the kid had Ray Bans for 2 years didn't need any maintenance on them. Both pairs broke with 6 months. I brought one of the frames in to get fixed only to be told they didn't carry that frame anymore and I would need to buy a new pair of glasses--frames and lenses. Complete waste of money, overpriced, and now I have to buy him a new pair. I do not recommend this place at all and will never return. read more

My husband was looking for a new eye doctor place since we are new to the area. I told him lets go to Stanton because it's super close. He set up the appointment. Big mistake. There are no doctors on the premises, they are videod in. Nothing was explained to us as far as vision issues. Then, they don't have a great selection of glasses. The glasses salesperson was kind of rude and should not be in customer service. My husband wanted to walk out by the way the older gentleman (employee) talked to him. He talked down to us . I remained cool. He told us that I had to purchase the second pair and I was like no it's covered by my insurance. He said that it wasn't. I said that I'll just take the one pair. When I picked up my glasses, the prescription wasn't right and neither was my husband's or daughter's. What a waste a money! We are going to a real eye doctor and redoing our eye exams. I purchased two pairs of glasses here about a year ago. I also joined their frames club and was told I'd get 2 free frames a year. Well a piece on one of my pairs of glasses broke so I figured I'd take advantage of my "free" frames and replace them. I go into the store and am told I have to pay for a portion of the frames. Uhmmmm?? I was told I had FREE frames?? Also, considering I just recently purchased the glasses, I thought they would be covered under warranty but nope. Stanton optical customer service is very poor. I went in last Thursday for my sons glasses since I was told there was a warranty on then. The guy told me he ordered the replacements. I called to check on it today and was told the order wasn't placed and that they no longer have those glasses. This is something the previous guy would have known and didn't tell me. To get this info I had to call 2 time because the guy answering the phone didn't know how to help anyone and sent me to customer service. When I called back the same guy was very rude and not helpful so I got sent to the manager. She asked me who helped me I didn't know his name. Because I didn't know his name She made me felt bad because I didn't have more info . When this wasn't my fault the guy didn't give me anything or I didn't know his name he should do his job and help customers correctly. When I went in the guy did look lost and didn't communicate much but to only tell me he placed the order. The manager finally did apologize but did not helpful for all the in-conveyance I had to go through to get this fixed. Now I still have to go down and get another pair of glasses and hopefully don't have to wait for them to get ordered. This place is absolutely terrible! I went in with my girlfriend and daughter on 9/6/15 and we walked around for about 20 minutes before anyone even spoke to us. Their were 2 girls in white lab coats sitting playing on their phones who worked there that kept looking at us but not offering to help, see why we were their or even say hi. We got talked to buy a guy in a suit who honestly reminds me of a sleezy used car sales man. I expressed the fact I don't trust this guy to my significant other but we pressed on as I needed some glasses. Now here comes the fun part.... The bait and switch tactic they pull 1. You get your eye exam its 40$ you pay this and you can roll that payment into a set of glasses you buy. Say you came in for the 2 for 70$ deal or whatever. 2. The glasses that come with the 2 for 70$ deal they literally have 6 frames to pick from! I was pointed to a wall and said the glasses with the blue tags are the ones you want to look at for that deal. Again the employee not even bothering to walk over their with me and point them out. I found this very rude and very lazy of the employee (especially as its about a whole 10 feet from where she was and again she was on her phone goofing off rather than working) 3. I briefly considered buying a more expensive frame but they just didn't have anything I liked so I decided I would come back after payday when I have some more money to spend. I was then told the credit for the 39$ exam cannot be rolled into a set of lenses unless I buy lenses today!!!! 4. So lets re cap. The lenses for the 2 for 70$ are horrible and you have a whole 6 to choose from. (unless they had more I didn't know about, I wasn't offered real help looking for them, just pointed and told to go look at a wall for blue tags) The eye exam can go towards your lenses only if you buy lenses that day.... Want to go back tomorrow and buy well your now out 40$. 5. To be fair the used car sales man looking guy did extend the 40$ credit to me for a week if I wanted to come back but only after I complained and called them out on this crappy tactic. The girl I told my concerns to again was only half ass listening and grabbed him so she didn't have to talk to me. I would not go back here again just due to the professionalism I saw. If I was standing around playing on my phone at work I would get written up or at least told to knock that off. It seems to be commonplace here. Good luck getting somebody to help you. read more

Had a problem with the glasses I purchased. They did refund because the couldn't make the ones I needed. Manager Mr. Lopez was excellent. My only concern was the staff was in too big of a hurry, should have known what the yellow writing on a veralux lens was instead of trying to scrape it off & that the couldn't make the kind of glasses I needed. I am incredibly frustrated with this place. DO NOT go here. My insurance company said that this was the nearest ophthalmologist in network so since we just moved here I signed my daughter up for an appointment. I confirmed with them that my daughter needed an ophthalmologist and not an optometrist to which they told me they for sure had one that would see my daughter. I filled out the patient form online and made the appointment. They canceled the appointment two days prior because they said they had to do some equipment maintenance. I rescheduled for the following Saturday. They canceled a second time on me because they just found out the "doctor wasn't going to be in the area". I rescheduled for the following Tuesday (today), we make the proper arrangements, pull my daughter out of school, drive her two towns over, and then we find out that not only do they not have an ophthalmologist, they don't see kids. The person scheduling the appointment apparently doesn't know that there is a difference between the two types of doctors! And after that, they informed us they don't see kids anyhow at that location. They've known how old my daughter is for two weeks when I filled out the patient intake form. I am so angry I am shaking. They wasted everyone's time and gas money and there is a special circle in heck for this place. read more

Took my elderly boss for a eye exam in which had to be redone at another optical center due to the prescription being no good Now that she would like her funds back she is getting the hurry up and wait after a bit of a run around and being told they can not do it because there is no supervisor on duty it is concerning there is no decision maker here on a regular basis and that she had to go thru this in the first place hoping no one else has to go thru this many hoops because it is bad business i do not recommend investing your time and money at this establishment read more

I did not see these posts where they all say the same and a lot of it. I would not have gone. I'm now stuck. Sun glasses were to be ready the next day. No calls, no nothing. They weren't. This place is horrible! We came in to check our eyes and we paid $200 dollars. We were waiting for the doctor to come in and the lady in front of us was arguing to the worker. It turns out their machine was broke yesterday and today and didn't even tell us that it was. What a bunch of lazy and crooked money wanters. I'm a little bit surprised by the lower rating, but I do understand that some have been dissatisfied by this place. I'm definitely not one of them however! I walked into this location because I was in need of new glasses. I was greeted in a very friendly manner by several staff members. Within 10 minutes I was signed in and waiting for an eye exam. The exam was fairly straightforward and to the point. I was then seated with a specialist who went over everything in detail with me. I admit that this place is a little bit pricey, but considering the fact that I was able to pick up the new glasses the next day instead of the usual 2 week wait like more traditional optometrists, you do get what you pay for. Plus, a month later when the kids I work with scratched up my lenses, it cost me nothing to get new lenses. Anywhere else and I would have had to pay for a new pair. The employee refereed me to the store manager and Emily was able to help me get just what I needed. I got the glasses and I'm very happy with them and the service I received.
