I had three separate orders all within a week and a half. Rebekah couldn't have been sweeter and more helpful. The first one was for my grandson's first birthday surf theme. She made the cutest smash cake and cupcakes for all.. everybody at the party raved about the cupcakes, not only was everything beautiful But moist and delicious!! The next one was for cake pops for our pumpkin patch combo birthday day. They were amazing. My sister said it was the best one she's ever had.. job extremely well done ! Cute, cute little shop, the had a seating area all in dusty pink furniture on one side and ice cream and cupcakes on the other. We originally went in for cupcakes but got ice cream. We did the hard work of taste-testing well over a dozen cupcakes for our wedding including her 4 cupcake complimentary box, and were blown away by how good everything was. In the end we went with Death By Chocolate, Peanut Butter Cup, Carrot Cake, and Lemon Raspberry cupcakes and they were all a hit. For our cake cutting, we got a small smash cake. Rebecca was amazing the work with from the start and you can tell how much she loves what she does. Got an ice cream cake from here. - cake: was ok. The ice cream had a bit of a gummy/strange texture. The flavor was good. Overall, when compared to cold stone's ice cream cake I liked that we could customize our flavors/decorations and that it was less sweet but at 4X the cost, I probably wouldn't do again. Part of why we did it regardless though was there was not a clear place to get ice cream cakes in the area regardless as we were visiting camano island - communication: the woman taking the calls was really pleasant and seems to have genuine passion for what she does. A big plus and made me really want to support her business. Unfortunately, the communication was also a little difficult without response to confirmation of cake for over 24 hours via text messaging to the bakery's phone (which was their stated preferred mode of communication) or voicemail. Also, cake was not ready to go upon pickup. It was made (I think?) but perhaps not packaged? Whatever it was--husband reports they seemed surprised when he arrived late morning--presuming we were coming in afternoon and he had to wait 15-20 minutes for them to get it ready Overall--wouldn't get a custom cake again but if in area might stop by to get ready made stuff read more

OMG! I wouldn't have known without going inside, but they have my very favorite ice cream EVER - blue bubble gum!!! I think it's a Dryer's brand, but very hard to find. Even though we were going for cupcakes....I had to get some. Super friendly staff (like regular friendly, but with a cape) and very accommodating. They whipped up a special request on the fly, and we had 1/2 dozen pure decadent cupcakes to go in just a matter of minutes. We got a wide variety, including a cookie dough, espresso, peanut butter, death by chocolate, and....*sigh (sugar rush)...I forget the rest. UPDATE - last update was in 2018. This place has not improved. I'm certain the small town of Stanwood simply doesn't know any better. Try heading to Bellingham. There are several cupcakes shops and specialty bakeries. I visited Stanwood cupcakes three days ago - August 24 2022. What happened to all the icing on top? I can NOT believe you all stand for this. The price you pay for these cupcakes and they have a "Glob" on the top? Seriously people? At least in 2018 there was more product on top. I will say the gal working was adorably sweet. We liked her very much. My grandson settled on a cookie instead. Oh, if you eat outside which you pretty much have to, don't expect to throw your garbage away with ease. Theres NO garbage can. I ordered custom cupcakes with a Lorax theme for my daughters birthday. I asked for different colors and suggested a few design options. I was extremely disappointed when I arrived to pay $39 for white vanilla frosting and a paper cutout of the Lorax and chunky truffula trees made out of squished fondant. Stanwood cupcakes are practically baked to satisfy. More: Don't be scared to try a strong sounding flavor. All of Stanwood cupcake's flavors are a perfect balance between over the top and under the top. I have heard they do custom cakes. Absolutely LOVE Stanwood cupcakes! I wanted to get a special treat for my moms 65th birthday party. But having food allergies can make it tricky to find delicious and allergen friendly treats. I called Stanwood cupcakes on a Monday they had many options for vegan & gluten free cupcakes. I order 1/2 dozen of chocolate with chocolate icing. And asked for some birthday glamour decor. Picked them up Saturday evening and was so pleased. The cupcakes looked beautiful and were absolutely delicious! Definitely will be getting more baked goods in the future. Stanwood Cupcakes is a small local business I have frequented often to support them and bring something unique to my family and friends. My most recent visit to purchase cupcakes for my grandsons first birthday was not enjoyable. One day before the party I ordered two dozen variety of her very expensive cupcakes ($35/dozen). I asked if one of the cupcakes could have blue frosting on it for him. I was told no, but was asked, what was his theme. I said astronauts. They said maybe they could do a topper with that for him. The next day I picked up the cupcakes, an hour later than I said I would, due to a hectic morning. At that moment, Rebecca, the owner, came to the front to scold me for not being there at 10:00 as I said I would. She even suggested I should have called to tell them I was running behind. But honestly, what would the point be, they don't answer the phone even when they are open. Later, when I arrived at the party and opened the box, there were vanilla (some with filling) and chocolate cupcakes. Not the variety I had asked for and still at a cost of $70 for plain cupcakes. I called to discuss my experience and had to leave a message, because again, they don't answer the phone. It took two messages and four days for Rebecca to call me back. As I was sharing my concern about not getting the correct order and the way she treated me, she kept interrupting me and placing blame on me! As I tried to correct the information she was sharing with me, she continued to interrupt. She did apologize for not giving me a good experience, BUT, again with the implication I was the cause and what I could do differently next time! Rebecca, there will not be a next time and I will be sharing this experience with others. A good business owner listens to their customer and acknowledges their concerns. To blame your customer for a poor experience is a bad example to your employees and lack of respect for your customer. I suggest you and your employees listen better and ask questions if you are not confident in the information you are being given. Hopefully, this will help other customers have a better experience than I did. I certainly won't know as I will never be back! read more

You may notice that I am not in Washington (Although, I wish I were) and you're probably wondering why I am writing a review for a place I obviously haven't been. Here's the story, my husband occasionally travels out of state for work, and this particular time he travelled during his birthday. I believe that birthdays should be marked by something sweet to bring sweetness into the next year of your life. I spent 2 weeks looking for something close by his hotel room, surprisingly yelp didn't steer me in their direction. I had to do a lot of research on the area and I found this gem of a shop on my own. *pats self on back* I called them and spoke to David who owns the shop and he was incredibly helpful and sympathetic to my cause after I explained to them what the situation was. They agreed to make cupcakes for my husband and THEN deliver them to my hunnys hotel! :D I spoke to someone at the hotel who agreed to take the box into his room and place it there for him. Not only did they deliver it for me, but his wife put a message in calligraphy for him!! I didn't taste them myself, but according to my husband and his co workers they were delectable! I ordered the caramel seasalt and lemon angel food. I've made a promise to myself that when I do visit Washington, I will go out of my way to drive to this little shop and try them for myself! This shop is adorable, the couple running it are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet, and their cupcakes are outstanding. I've tried several varieties and all have been moist and delicious...their frosting is some of the best I've ever had. The red velvet is amazing, as is the lemon angel food, the Hostess cupcake, the chocolate ganache and the coconut. The cupcakes are the perfect size and well priced at $2.50...less if you buy 6 or more. This is not COSTCO, so if you are looking for an enormous glob of food, this isn't going to be your scene.
