This place was recommended to me and I was pleasantly surprised on how much I liked it! I don't really smoke but I do enjoy hookah from time to time and this was the next best thing (they don't currently serve hookah). The ambiance is dark and cozy and the seating is very comfortable. What a cool spot. First of all, it's next to Mike's Pastry. Second of all, the waitress remembered me and my wife from our visit yesterday. Cool cigar lounge located below street level. When you come down it's dark like a cool speakeasy. They medium sized humidor with a nice selection. I had a "my father" yesterday and a monticristo tonight. Cute little bar. No beers on tap, but the bar is quick and the bar tender is beautiful. The waitress, Rachel was really nice and she remembered us from yesterday and recalled our drinks and what I smoked. I didn't think I left that much of an impression. But any place where they remember you is awesome. Nobody rushes you out of here and they don't push the drinks. Kelly!!! She's a super fast, dedicated, and a friendly waitress who made this experience a 10/10. She was carrying the place the night we visited--truly the real MVP of this place. Stanza is hands down my favorite place to come after dinner in the north end for a nightcap and a cigar to relax and unwind. The vibe is so old school and fun and the service is always excellent! The vibe is dark, dim, sultry and relaxing. My only complaint is that post-Covid they no longer offer hookah, much to the dismay of friends that I brought here who don't care much for cigars. "Holy Opus X Batman!" Yes, this place has the unicorn of cigars and infamous Opus X. Although I did skip it and opted for my personal fav the Padron it was tempting to treat myself to the Opus on the menu. This place is freaking awesome! It's located on the lower level of the building entrance and initially I thought it was really small but it actually was pretty darn large. It just had a slightly weird layout but it was in fact large. Seating was comfy and menu pricing was actually really good when compared to NYC lounges. My smoking hot babe and I spent upwards of 4 hours in this place having just an amazing time smoking, drinking and mingling with the other patrons that sat next to us. We must have mingled with 3 different groups of guys that came and went next to us and everyone we chat with were just so freaking cool! The atmosphere is amazing and the people coming in/out to enjoy this place were equally amazing. No snobs, no buzz kill attitudes. Just a relaxing environment with great people. Having never tried a Hookah before one of the group of guys was even super nice and was willing to let us sample their Hookah they purchased. Truly great people come to this lounge. Next time I'm in the Boston area I will certainly stop by this place again. This has just become my most favorite spot in Boston. I almost wish they had at the very least some simple finger food (e.g. fries, wings) but without it, it was still awesome! Staff is super nice! read more

Pricey, but their house cigar was pretty good and affordable. Great bartenders. Pitch dark at first so watch your step but definitely a good atmosphere. Thankfully the bartender cranked up the AC not long after we got there. They're only half open early in the day so a bit crowded on a Saturday. Would be interested in a night visit. read more

This place is a full on vibe! I highly recommend stopping by, sitting, having a drink and a good stogie. The humidor is nit very large but they have a pretty good selection of stogies. This place is definitely a vibe. As you've probably read in other reviews, it's an ex speakeasy that was turned into a cigar/hookah bar & it has SO much character. I'm not into cigars but ya girls LOVES to smoke hookah. A friend and I decided to get the cherry mint hookah and it was an excellent choice for us. We also ordered shots of Hennessy and they were hugeeee! The place was pretty packed and all the waitresses were super busy trying to take care of everyone in the building. I say that to say don't expect fast service. They were all super friendly and kind though. I don't remember my waitress's name but she was amazinggggg. I wish I could go into detail about how amazing she was but I can't. Lol! But believe me when I say sis was THE BOMB. Anyways I stayed here for about 2-3 hours and when I walked out those exit doors I was SO happy to breathe in fresh air! Lol. This place gets extremely smokey, but hey, what else would you expect from a cigar bar? My hair still stinks this morning and the first thing I'm going to do when I land in DC & get in my car is snatch this wig off honeyyyy. This smell is making me sick! Lol. Pretty much the only place we found to smoke cigars in the North Side. Not a great selection of cigars, but has the mainstays. It's down stairs in a dark cave like basement that's pretty cool. Caroline is the greatest!! My girlfriend and I happened to come in the Tuesday after the World Series, and got a chance to meet her and experience Stanza. It's like walking down into history, you can feel the personality in the wood. It's a nice dark cigar bar, but still a simple elegance to the whole place. It was a crowded and packed Friday night, but we found an end table and squeezed right in. The whiskey menu is extensive with a great cost range. The cigar menu is also very good but not as large as a walk in humidor might offer. If you need to use the restroom, you'd best be prepared for a well used really grungy one, but hey, this is a speakeasy. read more

The inside of this place has deep leather chairs, exposed brick, and a beautiful bar.Be mindful if you come with a group as it is really small, and they don't take reservations. I took my universities cigar club for an event and I couldn't have been happier. There were about 15 of us and the waitress couldn't have been more accommodating. Very friendly and flexible with our group coming in at different times and taking up half the place. Cocktails were incredible, recommend The Smokeshow. A trip to Boston would not be complete without a visit here. This is the famous cigar bar that Bill Clinton visited back in the day. They offer a wide range of cigars imported from all over the world. For those that don't do cigars, they also offer hookah. My group decided on a cigar and one hookah. The drinks here are pretty good as well. If you go with the hookah I recommend the creamcicle. It has a delicious aftertaste that reminds me of ice cream. The wait staff here are pretty good. They are attentive and check on you pretty often to ensure you are taken care of. What i really love about this place is the atmosphere. They play the current top hits that gives it a young hip vibe. The ambience is just perfect as well with the dimly lit lamps. Depending on when you come in this place can get super packed. We came at 8pm and got lucky enough to get seated right away. About half an hour later the place was packed out. The only downside of this place is that it is pricy. One hookah, one cigar, and two old fashions ran us $115 before tip. Overall, great place to hang after dinner. I will definitely be stopping by again the next time I am in Boston. read more

This is one of those places you have to visit even if you aren't a cigar smoker. It's got a unique creative feel and good energy vibe. Huge selection of smokes and something different for everyone. The staff is very knowledgeable about the product and what could feels your desire for the moment. I went in after a long horrible and was going to with the standard Padrón cigar but I was talked into some new and it mellowed me smoothly. I'm on cloud 9 at this current moment. I even got directions for the perfect pairing for certain cigars. This my favorite spot on a regular. I'll go here simply for the people but everything is great. Also the ownership here is grand on the greatness level. If you the opportunity spot by and I guarantee you meet some amazing that will change your life in the greatest ways. I don't smoke and I know nothing of cigars but it was the only lounge type of spot open till late (1am) on a Thursday on the North End. considering it was a Thursday (not Boston's prime night) it was pretty busy. I like the "exclusive" feel it has by simply walking downstairs into this speakeasy looking type of place. I felt like they had enough cigar options and they prices were not that crazy. I was really expecting to find a $50/$100 cigars but nope; the most expensive one was $31, which it was the Cohiba I ordered. The drinks were good and our server was very attentive. If you are a lady and single this would be a cool spot to check out because there were tons of business men there. Would I come back? maybe?!?! depending on my company. I do not frequent cigar shops and know almost nothing about smoking, however, i've been to Stanza on a couple occasions with my colleagues. Very classic/speakeasy cigar shop that is both classy and comfortable. Drinks were prepared well and service was quick. For anyone new to cigars, I recommend asking for a "punch cut". On my first visit I did not specify how to cut the cigar and they nearly cut off the entire cap which was not pleasant to smoke. We got a table for four initially however we wanted to change it. One of the servers directed us to another hall however he didn't follow us. The hostess a tall girl met us in the next hall and was pretty rude saying that she controls the tables and now we have to either go back outside in the line. This was sorted out after another gentleman gave us a table. We sat for 15-20 minutes and no server came to us. One of our friends asked and the same tall lady said they will come it was pretty clear that she didn't care and neither bothered to ask for a server.
