I've been to this location a handful of times and I have not had any problems with the staff. I've used their print shop once and they did my job as promised (24 hours). What I really love about Staples is their recycling program. They not only recycle ink cartridges but pens, pencils, batteries, cords, cables, calculators, flash drives and so much more! read more

I dropped by this Staples location today with 3 sheets of white paper that I wanted copied onto colored paper. I went up to the print center counter and told Shea that I would like to see which colors of paper they had and that I wanted to make 3 copies. I was told that she couldn't sell me paper, even for use in their self-serve machines. She did say that the print center could make the copies for me, but that the earliest they would be ready would be the next day! On those rare occasions when I need print services, I need to train myself to forget that Staples even exists. If I want Soviet-style service, I'll fly to Russia. read more

But they are always short staffed, or they don't cross train so you stand in one line that is unmarked only to be told to go to another line that is unmarked. The employee is racist! She help other customer with smiles but when I'm up next she just ignore me pretending she is busy and i waited for some time before I approach her. She immediately giving me stare giving me the attitude and told me this and that when I said I don't want to do it that way that she immediately ask me to calm down ? I'm like for what. She said I'm raising my voice. Just because I don't want to do it what she recommended. I want something to be printed on the same page and she immediately grab the ID off my hand put in the scanner about to start without my approval saying I have to make 2 copy first then scan them. I said I can just scan it on my phone and do the mobile order that way she immediately said u need to calm down for the 2nd time. We went in on a Sunday morning to process an Amazon return. Not a complicated thing. What really stood out was how utterly unpleasant the staff was. When we walked in, the person I was with said "hello" to an employee sitting behind a counter immediately as we walked in. This person just looked away from us without a word. Another employee got irritated when we were in the wrong line for the return even though it didn't matter as everyone in the line was going to the same counter where the same employees were assisting everyone. Then the employee gave us a piece of packaging from the return that wasn't needed and said she couldn't throw it away for us for some reason. So I walked five feet away and said, "oh look, a trash can" and threw it away. And then an employee completely uninvolved in the situation up at a register said, "yeah, there's also one outside" because I guess it made him feel better. Even the other customers were being treated poorly. Felt like the employees just hated their jobs and were taking it out on their customers. Again, this wasn't a complicated trip. Just a return. And in the 10 minutes I was in the store I decided it wouldn't be worth it to go back. Avoid this place if you can. read more

I am shocked by the level of customer service at this staples. I ordered business cards online for pick up same day. As soon as they were printed, the print shop called me to tell me their in house printer was having issues and did not print mine right. They offered immediately to have my order sent out for printing because they were streaking. They said I could come in and check them out myself to see if I could use any of them. About half the cards didn't have streaking on them that was noticeable so I was able to take them. So I salvaged the ones I could use immediately for an event in a few days and will be picking up my new ones shortly. I'm pretty happy that they called to let me know ASAP and tried to mediate the situation. I mean geeze they are like $15 business cards I wasn't expecting SUPER HIGH QUALITY cards. read more

I honestly feel bad for staples because it is so obvious they're trying to get more sales and trying to compete with the likes of amazon and others and just completely failing. They need a new re-design and a new vision or the store is not going to make it. Every time I go there I regret it. It could be good, but instead I just feel like cattle on the way to slaughter. From the moment you walk in, you're herded in one direction or another, in an effort to get you to walk past small, cheesy items. When approaching the check out counter, you're forced to walk around an entire 50 foot long kiosk, seemingly to either prevent shoplifting or force you to walk by more shit, or both. If I was in charge, which I never will be, I would soften the lighting. I would play better music. I would add coffee. I would de-clutter and simplify the space. I would make going to the printer area a pleasure rather than a chore. I would get rid of the forced entry and exit paths in favor of a more relaxed atmosphere. Take a look at a place like "Sip and Ship" in Ballard, and take notes. This is corporate cluelessness at its worst and it won't be far behind Sears. I'll try not to go back. But since my work is far away, I probably will, just to use the printer. Lastly, the item I bought today I took from a 3.49 section and was charged 5.49. I placed an order online for a printer and the pick up was interesting to say the least. Staff was nice enough as well. I spoke with 3 different people who all pointed in different directions as to the location of the printer. It only took about 8 min or so but eventually it made its way to the pick up location at the register. Misleading, inexperienced sales reps, and manager by the name of Rosa. I bought some business supplies on the 19th of November and came on the 2nd at 8:03pm they said we closed the cash register, so I came the next day in the morning on the 3rd. They refunded some of the staff but when it came to a big item over $100 they refused to refund it saying it's not office supplies, so I showed her the on the receipt that for the office supplies I can return at anytime but technology within 14days. Then she said it has been 15 days, which is not correct!!! I came right on the 14days of their return policy, but the meneger Rosa who did not have a name tag, was not helpful at all. I disputed the transaction with my bank and they conformed it that it is the 14th days.She either doesn't know how to count properly, or she is lying, either way she should not be a meneger! Went the other day to get another fire stick and a WiFi extender. I needed to exchange the extender because me or my 2 millennium nephews could figure out how to install it and make it work. I told the guy what my issue was when I walked in and he basically brushed me off and said go get what I wanted and bring it to the register. So I looked and read the back of everything still as clueless as when I walked in for about 20 minutes. Never once did any of the 6 people working try to assist me. Considering only 1 other customer was in the store, thanks to Covid19 I think this has to be the worst customer service I've ever experienced bar none. Pathetic. I came in on a Saturday morning and was immediately greeted by a representative. He asked me what I was looking for, and told me exactly where everything was in the store. As I walked back to the aisle he mentioned, another representative greeted me and asked me what type of pens I was looking for. She showed me the kind I wanted, and which ones were on sale. After that, she walked me to the next aisle where the other item I needed was located. This was extremely helpful as I was buying these items for my office and needed to return promptly. Had some difficulties today with getting some jpeg files uploaded so that I could get business cards made. While I was in the print area, numerous people came in frustrated with different issues that they were unhappy with in regards to printing. All the while Ema, the woman that works that department, patiently tried to help rectify every problem that came in. Wow, great customer service. I didn't end up getting my problem fixed in the store, but after i got home i continued to work with Ema via email to create a solution to get my cards printed by the next day at 8:30pm. Wooooohoooo. Staples recently renovated their Buren store and also moved it closer to Safeway. The location is extremely convenient as its next to Transit center and I can finish my grocery at Safeway and shop stationary items at Staples. The shop is very well renovated and feels new and fresh. The only drawback is high prices. I would suggest buying urgent items at Staples and buy remaining online. Save money :-) read more

This is the worst customer service I've ever seen. WHEN DID THIEVERY BECOME INSTITUTIONALIZED !? This is my first review & I'm sorry it's as bad as it is, but THAT'S STAPLES ! Horrible store manager (Mike) & his customer service skills were non-existent. I went in to return a defective (unused) ink jet HP 98 cartridge & basically got cheated out of my money by a manager who makes up policies to deny refunds. Imagine telling a customer you can't return an opened item! Bet they make a fortune on empty computer cases .... COME ON YOU CLOWNS ! Best part of all, is I ended up waiting to talk to the first clerk, Mike, & 4 additional phone complaint customer service reps... No wonder the ratings here are SWIRLING THE TOILET BOWL ! (I'll update if/when they give me a refund) The national policy is different, but I'm betting (Mike's) bumping store numbers by not standing behind products. Needed some 11*17 prints of plans for a remodel printed. Tried using Staples- last night, I uploaded the file to their fancy app on my phone, and received an email message they would be ready in 24 hours (really? For 5 prints?). Called Staples this morning, and spoke with a frantic unfriendly employee who kept putting me on hold because "she couldn't find the order". Finally asked me if she can call me back as "I have a line here and I'm by myself". I then flipped through Yelp and found RoadRunner printing here in Burien. Called them, and a super friendly voice said "just email the file and we will have them ready in 15 minutes". When I thanked them for being so friendly, the response was "it's our true pleasure to help". Nice touch! Very genuine. An hour later, Staples hasn't called me back. FYI: If someone else buys your printer ink online with their card and you don't add YOUR name to the order to have it picked up at the store, you can't pick it up. .. This is the dumbest shit I've ever experienced. I saw my order was ready for pick up and it was mentioned that you should call in before you go. I told the associate working what I ordered and she said it wasn't under my name, so I can't get it. She said to try to change it with customer service.. I was on the phone with customer service for an hour to try to add my name to an online order just so I can go pick it up and it couldn't be done, I suggested bringing in a piece of mail that shows both mine and the person who bought my ink and the staples rep said yes you can do that. When I got to the store, the associate was giving me so much shit as if I was trying to steal an identity or use a fake credit card (She photocopied my ID) why though? The customer service was horrible & the girl working at the print service center was very rude and didn't want to help at all!!! She told us to go to self print after we wanted something to print on card stock, and then we had to wait in line to ask for card stock, then was told these machines doesn't take card stock!!!! Honesty, if you can't be nice to every customer, then don't work in a "customer" services position! The customer service at the front end was no help either! I'm a local teacher trying to purchase composition notebooks for my students, as many of them struggle to afford school supplies. I'm really disappointed that Staples wouldn't make an exception to their purchase limit of 10 notebooks per day per customer. I need 150, and I can't come in here once a day for 15 days. The copy and print center is the worst. I just placed an online order for business cards, they messed up the spacing, printed crop marks on the cards and they were just off center. This was after asking them to fix the same issue once before. I wasn't happy and asked that they just refund the order and throw the cards away. Given this was already a day late, and this threw off all my timing, I asked if I could take 5 to 10 of the cards they were going to throw away. Rosa, the sales manager actually said no, they need to throw it all in the garbage? Very frustrating experience, now I'm behind on business and need to order from Vistaprint. Obviously, these folks don't understand how small businesses work, and have little respect for the time they waste, frustration they cause. I asked Kito, the manager to call me tomorrow. I wish I could give these idiots zero stars. Seriously. I'm not sure how much more inept a business can be. I tried to place a copy and print order online, with the goal of saving myself some time over simply printing and binding this large print job myself. Saving time!?!? Man, was I way off!! I was able to get it all set up nicely using their online system, but the online system would let me place the order. I called in the customer service number and they said their system was down and they couldn't do anything, but wait until tomorrow. So, I waited, and finally placed the order a few days later. The order was then transferred to the Burien store for processing. The next day I got a bumbling message from someone at the store saying their system wasn't capable of doing to binding the way I had selected (why did their system let me select the option then?). The message said to call back the main store number so that I could let them know how else I wanted it done. I tried calling a bunch of times. Each time I finally made it through their god-awful automated menu to an actual person, I asked to be transferred to the copy and print department. Each time, they "transferred" me, but no one in the print department ever picked up. This bullshit alone took about 20 minutes of repeated attempts. How hard is it to transfer a phone call.? I got frustrated and called the main customer service number. After navigating the menus and getting through to a person, they told me they did have control over orders that were sent to store. AI had to make a threat of calling American Express to reverse the charges. Eventually, the customer disservice person took another 20 minutes to call the store to just cancel the order. In all, I wasted well over way too much of my time and got LITERALLY NOTHING for it, other than aggravation and stress. If you are considering hiring these poorly trained monkeys to help you, just forget it and do the job yourself. If you can't do it yourself, go somewhere else!!! read more
