There was a horrible experience seen this afternoon. I stood behind as I witnessed the whole thing. A sale associate, Matt, was so disrespectful toward the customer, it was unjust. How can such a rude person be considered "certified and able" to represent the Staples community? I, for one, love shopping at Staples since you can ideally get anything you want from there. So the story continues, with the customer checking out their items. This is where the sales associate comes into play. After scanning their items, he then proceeded to offer a warranty for one of the items and when they politely rejected, he kept pestering and pestering them. The customer was clearly uncomfortable with the whole situation. He then bagged their items, and there were several, all into the same thin plastic bag. When he was finished bagging, he purposely dropped the bag against the counter with the item he offered the warranty on, on the bottom. It seemed as if he was trying to do something to the item to prove the need of a warranty. Though those weren't my things, I still didn't like how he was treating them. The bag then broke and ripped in two when they picked it up, and when they asked for a second bag to mend the first, he gave a face of disdain. It was almost like "only if I have to." I guess the customers just wanted to be the bigger person that day because they just quietly thanked him and walked out. When I reached the counter, I got my items scanned, paid for quickly, and got out of there. Staples is a great building, beautifully established and modeled, all while located at a perfect shopping spot. However today, the customer experience seen was just plain awful. Whether he purposely tried to be rude to the customer because they didn't purchase a warranty or not, the whole thing was horrible to witness. The customer was vulnerable to his snide faces after they rejected him. Things like this shouldn't happen and if they continue to happen, well, I bet you can see the decrease in customer satisfaction go down pretty quickly. Shame cause it's Staples. read more

We called Staples to see if they could fix my phone, as it seemed the screen had separated from the phone casing. We were told that Nick would be there until 2PM. I stopped in at around 1:00 and Nick greeted me with a smile and told me no problem. He could have my phone working in about 5 minutes; however, there were other problems with the phone as far as the binding between the screen and the phone casing was split and then he discovered that my battery had swollen up which probably caused the problem with the screen coming off the frame. Unfortunately, they did not have the battery in stock. Nick told me and my husband he would go to Hillsborough (about 5 miles away) to pick up a battery for my phone -- this was about 3:00 at this point, which I thought was amazingly thoughtful. Nick called my husband's phone to let us know that he had the battery. We came back to the Raritan store and he installed the battery. My husband had a rewards coupon, which Nick wanted to screen shot to print out and something happened with my husband's phone (no fault of Nick's, as he had done screen shots many times with other phones), but my husband's phone would not let him gain access. Nick brought over his manager and the both of them worked diligently to fix the problem, even calling Apple to hopefully get help in unlocking my husband's phone. Even though we still have the problem with the phone and Apple is still working (which we are pursuing a complaint against Apple for not making this an easier process), we commend Nick and the staff at Staples who worked above and beyond their normal working hours to help us out. went to staple to buy a desktop on 9/28. waited there for 20 minutes, no one came for service. asked a lady (who wear different uniform, most stuff wear red t-shirt) several times if there were people could help. she kept saying someone would come shortly. she tried to avoid to face customer (when people tried to ask her something, she tried to escape). at least three group of people left after wait for 20 to 30 minutes. We finally left after 30 minutes waiting. When we passed her, she just ignore us. very bad experience shopping there. I am not sure if she is a manager or not. read more
