EXCELLENT SERVICE FOR CELEBRATION OF LIFE PRINTING AND THUMB DRIVE NEEDS I received excellent service in Salem, New Hampshire. Nick and Cynthia were the best. I worked directly with Cynthia and she went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure everything went well for my Celebration of Life for my mother, out of state. She did poster boards, thumb drives, and programs (including handling out of state shipping). She was very pleasant to work with, attentive to details, and very willing to make adjustments every step of the way. Everything was shipped in a timely manner and beautifully packaged. When I needed extra copies of the thumb drives, she did them immediately. I was verbally accosted by an employee at the Salem NH(Store #0047). Witnessed by the store manager, Josh offered no apology. I wanted to make a formal complaint, but he declined to provide me with names or a telephone number. This employee, who accosted me, is a loose cannon who should not be working with the public. First of all kudos to the 2 store employees who were manning the store. Now, as far as corporate goes, they have a lot to learn. First one in the store on a Tuesday morning and Karina was working and Cynthia to follow . First of all I want to mention how neat and clean the printing area looked into comparison when I was there approximately 6 months ago . Karina was so friendly and so helpful as I was having trouble getting my pictures to download . Karina was having trouble getting a connection to the store but Cynthia was very helpful as well . The print service has gone down hill. I used to come weekly for different large prints, but I now wouldn't recommend this service. We ordered 50 Christmas cards Saturday morning with a 24 hour pickup for a 5pm guarantee on Sunday. I showed up on Sunday at 5:30pm and the cards were not ready. The kid told me that they wouldn't be ready for another 24 hours. So now we have to go out for another trip when it should've been done. At the very least, the kid who was clearly not busy, could have printed them while I was there. read more

It's pricey for what it is . They usually do have what you need in stock unless it toner l, laptops or printers. They will order it for you. They have started revamping of some of the staples stores . This one needs one and a through cleaning . read more

A typical cookie cutter Staples Store, NO A SUPERSTORE! Next to K- Mart and Market Basket- in a VERY busy shopping plaza. I went in at Christmas holiday time to look at printers. A good deal of time I waited for a sales clerk as I was interested in a new wireless printer. I found a nice one, floor model on clearance. It didn't have the box, but I got the software and manual at a very good price. Not a place I would shop at regularly, but it met the need at a time that I needed a good printer at a cheap price. read more

The inventory at this Staples is pretty good, including office furniture in the back, something you don't find at every Staples. The inventory and layout are pretty much what you'd expect. One thing I didn't like is that you have to go through the checkout area to exit the store, even if you didn't buy anything. That is awkward and probably inconvenient if there is a line of people waiting to check out. The other thing I didn't like was the sloppiness of the checkout staff. They weren't rude or discourteous or anything, but they also could have been a little more professional. Asking if you are a Rewards customer seemed to be a question in hindsight in some cases. The cashiers also needed to pay a bit more attention to how they stacked or bagged merchandise once it has been scanned. This just wasn't up to the level of professionalism I've seen at other Staples stores. So this wasn't really a "Superstore" it was a "Mediocrestore." read more

Called the tech department was on hold for about 10 minutes while i was on my way there. When i got inside there was 1 tech helping a customer and 2 others standing around talking . It took one of them over 10 minutes to try and get me an estimate on fixing a tablet, after about 10 minutes he gave up and he said I'll give you a guess it's going to be around $240. Thanks for wasting my time idiot. Another time I sent a package using stapels USPS 2 Days Later the package came back to me I guess they did not charge me enough I had to take the package this time to USPS. more wasted time thanks Staples very professional read more

I went to Staples in Salem NH on Broadway looking for a specific items to aid my sight impaired mother with a desk and computer accessories. Josh LaCroix was patient and very educated giving us lots of options and suggestions. He also gave my mother his card and told her to call before she comes in again to be sure he is working and he would be happy to help her again. Clearly, the management has listened and changed their staff..I went in early one morning because my office printer/scanner had died. I not only found the one I wanted, the staff there bent over backwards to help me find it, they also loaded it up on a hand-truck and carried it out to my vehicle and loaded it for me. All in 8F degree weather and w/o even considering getting a coat for themselves. Excellent experience, and I won't be going anyplace else for my office supplies. read more

They need more staff!!!!!!! We were in the market for a new laptop. We got in and shopped for a little bit and then stood there waiting for someone to show up (5-7 minutes)... finally we asked the lady in the printing dept to get someone for us. There had been another couple looking before us so I was polite and let them go first. They ended up purchasing a computer and the sales person said he would finish up with them and then help us, unless the other sales person finished what he was doing first. We waited another 10 minutes and the 2nd salesman finished what he was doing he was headed over and another customer asked him for something and he went with her... I was flabbergasted. Needless to say we walked out..... and on our way out the 1st salesman saw us and said are you all set... I said "NO we are leaving" he said "I can help you" to which I replied... "I am DONE" We bought our computer at another store just down the street. I was never a fan of Staples... but now I will make every effort to avoid them. read more

Horrible!! I went to this staples today, as I had a very important document that I needed to print, sign and scan to my email so that I could return it. Seeing as I don't have a printer or a scanner at home, this appeared to be the perfect solution. They have ONE self serve computer, but I thought "hey, it's my lucky day", as nobody was using it. I placed my credit card in as directed. The screen informed me that it was $0.30 per minute of Internet access. Most of what I needed to do could be done on my iPhone, but I needed to sign into my email, print the document. Sign document. Scan document to my email. That's all I needed from staples. Sounds like a 3 minute project, yes? NO! It took FORTY FIVE MINUTES to access my email and print TWO PAGES because the Internet was SOOO SLOW. Had this not been so important, I would've left. FINALLY, document in hand, I again insert my credit card , this time into the scanner, to scan said document plus a previously printed 15 page document to my e mail. After watching a circle spin on the screen for 15 minutes with a message of "scanning documents to email) a message pops up "scan unsuccessful"... My card had already been debited $13.50 for computer access and now $10 for a "failed" scan. I went to the desk, where the helpful worker, in appx 3 seconds, scanned the 17 pages to my email. She said "no charge since the other one already charged you". So, to make a long story even longer, it cost me approximately one hour of my life that I'll never get back and $23.50 to print/scan a document. TERRIBLE!! I had recently done the same thing at my local library for $0.30 total and about 10 minutes, but unfortunately they're not open on Saturday. I think staples purposely has a S-L-O-W internet connection at the self serve computer to ensure that they charge you top dollar. DISGUSTING. I too will echo the lack of staff here. There's usually one person on a register and help in the aisles is nonexistent. The copy center staff has messed up my order more than once. I'm not remotely impressed and come here only due to dire circumstance of needing something they have. read more

This store has the worst staff and managers. I called this morning to see if the do it yourself printers took USB flash drives. They transferred me to the copy and print department and a female told me yes. I went down and saw that that was not true. There was a black woman in the copy center (obviously the one that talked to me earlier) and she then told me no they wouldnt print off of flash drives. Then she took her sweet ass time to even help me. Finally, she loads my drive and tells me she cant print it because its a copywrited manual. I call a manager over, and he says the same thing. When I complained about the misinformation earlier, the black female denied telling me that. I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS STAPLES EVER AGAIN. read more

Completely understaffed! Completely unprofessional. Copy&Print center is always running around, being on their personal phones, helping 3 customers at once-- such a mess! Sweet girls but always completely unorganized! I went in once to get a promotional banner made, same day. Went very early morning! They said that'll be done before 5! So I stopped in at 5, they had not even received the art work approval from their 'design studio' yet. No call, no nothing. They said they'd give me a call when it was done. It was now 8pm, I called them and they said 'design studio' did not send it back. I was frustrated and told her she needed to get on it and I will be there in 45 mins, right before they closed. She called me back 2 mins later saying they sent it back while we were on the phone! I went - it was done but took twenty minutes until the 5 people in line in front of me were all taken care of. Second and last situation. Went in with pre-designed rack cards and 8x10 prints from their website design studio. They pulled it right up and said we can do that! I told them to set it aside for the night (because they were so busy and looked so unorganized while dealing with unhappy customers) and I'll pick up around 4 the next day. They said 'oh no! We can get it done tonight- we'll give you a call from when it's done.' Saturday day, I had not received a call and got caught up with work so I let it go. Sunday morning came and I hadn't received a call! I called them and they said 'oh that'll be done on Monday!' So I told them I could not wait till then, cancel the whole order. She said 'oh well (so and so) is coming in at 2 and she can do it for you.' I said 'fine! Just do me the favor and call me to let me know!' I get a call at 5 saying it's all done! I went and they only had my 8x10 prints done. I asked about the rack cards and they said 'oh well rack cards are made by a third party company, we can't do them in store!' I was all set at that point. Never again. Go to vistaprint.com and use them. They have amazing customer service and never screw up. I'm done with Staples in Salem nh. read more

Previous reviews are accurate. Terrible customer service, especially with their printing services. I brought 3 important photographs to be mounted on foam core. They ruined one and said "it's the best we can do". Then did nothing to remedy the situation. Clearly, the staff there is untrained and unknowledgeable. read more

I should have read the reviews before doing business with this place. I created a poster online at 11:30 am but didn't expect it would take them until 5:30 pm to print it. I learned about the excessive time by calling at 2 pm and waiting on hold for 30 minutes. Additionally they got the order wrong. I order a laminated poster and there was no lamination done. I didn't realize it until I was half way home. I just really hate this place. Never will I use this place again. read more

They keep changing several store policies corporate wide that hurts the relations with the customer. This store makes no exception. Manager on duty didn't even care. They consider a laser pointer an electronic, thus a 14-day return policy vs. 30-day...so I was over. Didn't know a light in a pen is considered an electronic. Now I truly have no reason to go to any Staples. Funny you'd think they'd have better customer service / relations considering Walmart, Best Buy, Uline, Office Depot, Target, Amazon (and more) are their competition. Unbelievable! I've been on hold for 26 minutes just trying to find out if they have a laptop in stock before I travel the 60 min round trip to go buy it. (website says they only have 1 in stock). I have 3 phones going all trying to reach someone at a different department (technology, copy, and office supplies). At one point Copy answered and said sorry wrong dept and put me on hold before I could say anything more. Are they seriously that busy on a Thursday night at 6:45pm!! read more

I found this to be a routine Staples with adequate inventory and friendly staff.

It is the only store of its type in the area. Since I wrote my last review, I have returned. It is a good place for some of the small items that I need, especially if I am in a hurry. The new system of ordering on line has been help. At times, they have good sales. Tech support deserves 4 stars read more

Chain is working themselves out of business. They advertise EASY but are anything but. Thus is the second time I have had an issue with a return. 1. Tried to return a Staples branded ink cartridge that was defective bit barely used. No go BC I didn't have proof if purchase. It says Staples right on the product! 2. Received a an electronic product as a gift and was unable to return for even a store credit. Haveti go back to gift giver and have them dig up the receipt. It I'd a Staples exclusive product. also have found paper, file folders, and storage boxes MUCH cheaper at WalMart and Target. read more

Worst Staples I have ever been in!! Manager out of uniform, wearing a purple shirt and suspenders, drinking a soda while on the sales floor, screaming across the store at employees and not acknowledging customers. A third of the employees were not in uniform. Employees on phone and avoiding customers and on the phone while ringing out customers. Large line without staff willing to help while staff are available. To top it off, the store is a mess. I feel the store could be run better by a group of kindergarteners! I also believe being such a high volume New Hampshire / Massachusetts border store; that Staples Corporate would have this store in a much better state with MUCH MUCH better service!!!!! read more

When going to the cashier to purchase my items, she was very unfriendly and she has no courtesy to have customer friendly service. I complained to one of the managers who is in his mid to late 20s and he told me that she is new and I told him that it is not a good excuse for her to be that way. He said this very ridiculous and very stupid comment to me, so that he can defend that unfriendly cashier. That manager seems to be an idiotic moron. Then, he apologized and he told me that he will talk to her. I feel very doubtful, if the manager ever spoke to the very unfriendly cashier. I guess that Staples does not know how to judge peoples' personality, before hiring them and it also seems that it has no policy for employees to be very friendly with customers. I took a survey online telling them how customer service was very terrible and very bad. While taking the survey online, it asked a question, if I want a manager from the store to contact me and I gave them my phone number and, so far, nobody did not contact me. It is best to stay away from that store. read more
