I don't know if the two people were having a bad morning or what but their customer service was terrible. Usually it's not that bad but because I was doing this for a family member, it felt like my lack of knowledge and/or ability to get information was a sin. I won't lie, the printed labels from home were blurry while still scannable. A simple sorry for the inconvenience would have been great. At least it wouldn't feel like they hate life and everyone else. read more

Went to the Copy and Print Center and asked if they could coil a book made of loose pages. The book costs $70, btw. Specified that I wanted the book to open and lay flat. I never requested expedited service, just asked how long it would take and when could I pick it up. I was told "No worries, it'll be done in about an hour." I returned more than an hour later to find that my book wasn't done yet AND when handed the book, the coil was HUGE and the holes were completely messed up and misaligned. I was charged $7 and since it was only $7 I didn't argue but once I got in the car, I saw on my receipt that I was charged for expedited service!!! Bought an office chair but the seat holes didn't line up so it couldn't be assembled. Hauled it back to the store for an exchange. Manager, Don, said they no longer do exchanges. Don said I could do a return only and the sale price was no longer valid. Said I had to pay $25 more for the same chair. Took the refund. I'll never set foot in that place again. What a rip off. Should have known better than to buy from them. What a crock! I'd give them zero stars if I could! read more

If you plan on applying here, DON'T. The manager fired me for something I didn't even do, and he REFUSED to hear my side of the story. I didn't do anything wrong, yet I was still fired. I'm pretty sure as a manager, you are supposed to hear BOTH sides, not just the customer's. I had planned on quitting anyway, because I was promised a lot of hours when I was hired. I ended up working three days a week and only about four hours a day. You're better off working at McDonalds for $15 an hour than here at only $10 an hour. read more

Got an email notification that an item I ordered online had arrived and was signed for by Matt. No one could find the item. They told me to come back later and they'd call me when it arrived. 10 minutes later I get a call--they found it. I came back today to pick it up, stood at the online pickup area and absolutely no one acknowledged me. Customers continued to form in the line and one by one were served until I finally flagged down a guy. The manager was completely oblivious. The Copy and Print Center completely messed up my order. I dropped off my materials on Friday, and asked if it could be done by Saturday. They said no, but Monday would work. That was OK, but I got a message on Monday evening saying that the associate had only scanned in the front side of each page. This was for a booklet - who only prints on one side of the pages in a BOOKLET? Staples needs to give their employees some common sense training. When I'm able to call back Tuesday morning, she said it could be done by Wednesday. Sorry, I needed it Tuesday. She said it could be ready, and I went in Tuesday evening to pick it up. Next problem: She printed the covers of the booklet on regular paper, not card stock. When I pointed this out, she said she was just following my directions. However, she checked the order, and it clearly said "card stock" in her own handwriting. Then she claimed that she hadn't charged me for it. Oh wait, she had. She did agree to take the extra charge for card stock off my bill, but now I'm left with a junky product, and I didn't have time to wait for it to be reprinted AGAIN. I'm embarrassed to distribute the booklet, and it's a poor reflection on me. Thanks a lot, Staples. Certainly won't be taking anything to your Copy Center again, and you've lost my office supply business as well. My Rewards Card is well-worn, but it's heading in the trash. There is nothing worse than ordering an item, getting confirmation when it will be done, then arriving at the location to learn that the item was not completed. I ordered a custom print/binding job for a notebook I was creating for my business. I needed the item the next day so I used the online custom printing order tool on the Staples website. I placed the order at approximately 9am on Wednesday, for a 5pm pickup on Thursday. The only Staples in the area is about 20 minutes away, so, after two events I had to attend, I figured I would head over there and pick it up. When I got to the store, I had a bad feeling. The parking lot was almost completely empty. Bad sign. I walked in, went to the copy center and the attendant Donna, spent a little too much time looking for my item. Another bad sign. She finally found it and instead of a bound, covered document, I had 240 loose pieces of paper. I told her that what she needed to do now was to complete the project as I requested and overnight it to me. She contacted the store's manager to ask. He came over and said there isn't a way they can overnight a package. That's interesting considering not ten minutes after the manager, Dominick, told me they have no means to overnight something to me, a UPS truck pulled up to the building. My fiancée took this picture while she waited outside in the car for me to resolve this issue. Dominick said that he could finish the book in "about 30 minutes". Forty-five minutes later, the book was complete. Or was it? Nope. The pages in one of the sections was put in backwards and the spiral binding had torn about 20 pages. I showed Dominick the damage and the out-of-order pages and he refunded my money. So, why am I complaining considering I was given a refund? Because there is no excuse for not completing a job especially considering how "unbusy" the place was. If you allow for specific pick up times, it's your responsibility to meet that time. I will never shop at the Ireland Rd. Staples in South Bend ever again (and that was my first time there!). read more

MUST READ ** I will be reporting this store to DISTRICT Have never been treated so Rude during a simple check out for a keyboard, had only a 100$ bill - RIGHT before my eyes the cashier not fearful or sad - NO!! she became infuriated, huffed/puffed, face red with anger and disgust in her voice as she paged for change to her register drawer , didn't bother her how RUDE she was treating me the quiet little mouse in SHOCK. Turns out her previous 2 customers yelled and cussed her for not having change ... according to the manger Hmm. This a STAPLES! not a mom & pop store.. It gets WORSE: the Manager not only excused the unprovoked AWFUL treatment of an innocent local doing business BUT THEN calling me a Liar when I reported this cashiers behavior, Stated she was standing there and SHE WAS NOT standing there , which actually makes the MANAGER A LIAR !!!!!!!!!! One of the older gentleman sales floor associates gave me change out of his own pocket PROVING the manager wasn't there!! Please please local friends - Shop elsewhere . Thank Goodness we have options and know if we make a mistake we apologize . We're adults , this crew running this store like 5 year olds .. and will NOT right a wrong. BEWARE. read more

I was greeted the moment I walked in the door. A cashier came to take my box of ink cartridges so that I didn't have to carry an awkward box. I was greeted numerous times on the sales floor by associates who seemed like they wanted to help (not in a "they don't trust the customer" way). I finally did ask for help with something and the associate was busy with another customer, but took the time to hand me off to someone else who wasn't as busy. I got what I needed for work and headed to the counter. Alison had already counted up my cartridges and did a great job quickly getting me out the door on my lunch break, while still be friendly. This was a great experience. Customer service was exceptional, the store was clean, and I will continue to bring my business here. read more
