Was a frequent patron of the previous theater ipic and was glad to see that Star cinema purchased the location. Love the new privacy pod seating and now you can get service at any seat. Food is really good with lots of options. The drinks are overpriced for the very small amount of alcohol in them. Overall a good experience. read more

I havent tried it as yet but will be using the free voucher to test it. I went today but the manager was very friendly and told me we could use the voucher even past the expiry date. Very impressed with her helpfulness. I would suggest having some days with cheaper tickets or matinees etc. just a suggestion but it will drive more traffic to your new business. read more

I was here for an event and let me tell you, this place blew all of my expectations. The staff was fantastic, the place was very clean and updated, the seats in the theaters are super cool. But forget all of that, THE FOOD is where it's at. I had the cheeseburger and fries and both were delicious, better than a lot of burgers joints I have been to. Tacos were great, wings and chicken tenders were a big hit. I also had a chicken Caesar salad that was really good. Highly recommend this place. read more

We sat in the 2nd row and really strained our necks watching. Not sure how anyone could sit in the front row. Fun to have a server but ours didn't come see us (despite light being on) until the movie started - so it really distracted us from what was on the screen. If you are going to go, splurge on the VIP seats. And maybe order drinks / food before you go in. read more

Very poor experience overall. Both recliners had a drink spilled on them and no one bothered to clean it even after asking. Cup holders looked like they haven't been cleaned in weeks and recliner next to me had fresh, chewed gum on it. No plates or utensils served with the meal. Two permanent blue dots on the screen. No hand soap in the bathroom and no paper towels either. For what you end up paying after admission/food, not sure how anyone can justify going here. read more

Went to this theater for the first time as a fun date on our 31st anniversary. We sat in the premium pod area and were pleasantly surprised at the comfort and coziness of the pod. The food exceeded our expectations. The cauliflower crusted "Godfather" pizza (sausage, peppers, onions) was good sized, very crispy and delicious. We also shared a shrimp cobb salad and that was unexpectedly tasty! At least two to three levels above other dine-in theaters in our area in terms of taste and quality. Well done! We did share a bowl of complimentary popcorn and it was probably among the best movie popcorn we've had. I didn't think it was possible to put butter on popcorn that evenly...but it was really delish. My wife and I enjoyed a low key evening watching Top Gun Maverick and the sound quality in the theater was excellent as well. That's the sort of movie that should be loud enough for you to feel it...and it certainly was. Double thumbs up here and we'll be coming back! read more

Would like a refund for my husband's ticket. Somehow your staff allowed a woman with a 7-9 year old kid in without a ticket and they first tried to take some other couple's seats, then moved to sit together IN ONE SEAT next to my husband - again WITHOUT a ticket. She proceeded to pull out a full on picnic, text on her phone throughout the movie and constantly elbow my husband who had a paid seat as if he were the one invading her space. Your staff needs to insist on people sitting in the seats they paid for and enforce their "no outside food and beverage" rules. Oh, and I paid for premium seats for me and my daughter and we never received our blankets or popcorn. TOTAL RIPOFF - apparently has happened to multiple other people leaving reviews lately too. read more

Love this place....but hate the service. We asked for our food and drinks after a 45 minute wait (server said "it's coming). Nope. In all, waited over an hour only to be told by management that the ticket had never been put in. Missed a good chunk of the movie. They comped our food, BUT expect much better...especially when you pay more for "the pods". read more

Theater is still out of this world. However, when you pay $40 for a pair of seats, Star Cinema needs to make sure you get your $40 worth! Went to see movie on Saturday afternoon. There was a total of 8 people in theater. Placed our order for food which was the free popcorn with the POD seats, burger fry and the tacos with drinks. We never got the popcorn and the wait for the food was about half an hour. We were brought the food with no ketchup no mustard, no napkins, no silverware. The guy that brought the food he was impatient and when we asked for ketchup he told us he had to deliver more food give him a second!! Again, $40. We never got the ketchup, did get some napkins never got silverware nor never asked if we wanted refills on drinks. Did I mention never got the popcorn? All in all if this is the type of service that's provided for $40 I would say go to a regular movie theater and hit Applebees afterwards. Not happy with this visit at all. read more

Patrick took so long to bring my food I was convinced he'd forgotten. Over an hour into the movie he arrives with my selection, after my companion had already finished his food. No explanation of why it was taking so long. No apology. We ordered immediately upon arrival yet were the last ones to be served. I found it interesting though that just 12 minutes after finally bringing my food he arrived with the check, and came back twice to see if he could collect payment. After the movie a trip to the restroom where there was an unflushed toilet & the contents of the toilet matched the blood smears on the light switch. The bathroom needed tidying for sure. Plenty of parking, theatre was clean, movie sound was fine, heated reclining seats were helpful because even under a blanket the theatre was freezing. I expected better service for the price. Will NEVER return. This is our 3rd time going since the iPic closed and it changed hands. Every experience has been an absolute disaster. The first time, we were trying to get a simple gift card and they ended up charging our credit card $300 for a $50 card. Took them almost an hour to figure it out what they did wrong. Gave us free passes for our trouble. Used those free passes and the service was horrible. Had to return my beer because it was soap water (not kidding) they served me beer line cleaner. Bartender did personally apologies to me. Ordered the brussel sprouts and they delivered it without any napkins or utensils. Took 1/2 hour to bring us some, food is now cold. NEVER offered us popcorn even though we were in the premium pods. Today was it. Ordered food before the movie started, didn't get it until 45 minutes before the movie ended, and this was Indiana Jones witha 2:45 run time. Waitress blamed the kitchen, but it's her job to notice we didn't get our food. It does not take 2 hours to make chicken fingers. Had to hit the button 3 times just to ask where our food was. Never stopped by to see if we needed more drinks, Never offered us popcorn even though we were in the premium pods. This place is a disaster. Also, don't go to the women's bathroom. Totally disgusting with wet paper everywhere, pee all over the floor. Disgusting. The manager gave us another "free pass", we just gave it to someone coming in. NEVER going there again. read more

My husband and I went last night to see Flash and were very disappointed...We ordered two drinks, and only one came out. After about 15 minutes, another guy informed us they were out of one of our drinks and opted for another drink. We asked if we could place our order with him or our initial server, and he said, "Yes, I can take it". He also asked if we still wanted our popcorn with the seats we selected, and we said sure...No one ever came back out with the food or drinks, and 40 minutes had passed. My husband decided to go to the bar to find his drink just sitting there. He asked what happened to our food and was informed that the kitchen had already closed. No popcorn, no food, and we could not even enjoy the movie... This has been our go movie theater even before Star Cinema, but customer service needs to improve. read more

I would definitely not sit in the first 3 rows. 4th row or back is perfect, otherwise you will be way too close. Small theater size, expect the movie sound to be very loud surround sound. Food is decent, comes quickly. Come early since they are staffed based on the number of customers.....it may take a minute to have your order taken. Seats are very comfortable, food trays move forward and back for convenience. read more

Went tonight to see (Jurassic World at 940) for the first time since it has been under new ownership. First off we waited forever to get our food. Over an hour. Then my husband never got his food. There was no napkins no silverware nothing. Then I went to the front during the movie to get help I waited an additional 10 mins got someone to come and acknowledge me. There were plates all over the bar and the servers and bartenders were speaking among themselves. It was disgusting. At this point I said forget the food. The movie was over and guess what no bill. We had to go to the front and find our server and ask for a bill after the movie was over. I seen a good amount of people walk out. Oh yeah and they tried to charge us for a side and an entree we never received. I will not be going back. Horrible experience. My entire family of 5 was complete disappointed. Replaced the old IPIC. This is no IPIC. They couldn't even figure out how to do a gift card. Food is actually good, but you will wait an hour for it, then wait another 15 minutes for them to give you a napkin and utensils. When I order popcorn....i want it when the movie starts, not at the same time you bring me my appetizer, 1/2 hour into the movie....and YO, servers? People need utensils when they order the Brussel sprouts/non finger food. They NEVER came with ours despite 2 requests, so we ended up eating them with our fingers and using the blanket as a napkin. HOW can your bar be "out of vodka" when you are literally walking distance to a Binny's? Horrible management. read more

We received the flyer in the mail for two free tickets to experience the new movie theater. I choose a Friday 11:30am movie because I assumed they would be under staffed just like any other place now a days and I wanted to give myself the best chances of experiencing their business. Unfortunately I was unlucky. When checking in with who I believed was a manager as he was in a dress button up, he offered for an extra $5 per seat we could upgrade. I asked what the difference is and it was a small pop corn and a blanket. I said yes, we paid $10 for the seats. We were one of three couples in that theater from what I was able to see. The waiter for the couple in front of us checked in to see if our waiter had came to see us yet, we said no. So he put in waters and an appetizer for us and informed us our server was in another theater at the moment and would check in on us soon. Once he finally did we ordered a meal to split and two cocktails. I will say the food and drinks were pretty good. He checked in on us later to see if we needed anything else before he brought out the check, I just asked for a water. He brought the water and the check, which I'm going to assume was 45 mins before the end of the movie because that's what was stated on the big screen before the movie played. That is their last call. We look at the bill and a bit shocked that our bill was $64 for two cocktails, an appetizer and a meal. But it is what it is. We placed our card in with the check just moments after it was delivered, I stand up the folder so it was easier for the waiter to see since we are in the dark. The movie ends, the credits are rolling, the lights go on and our waiter never came back. My husband ended up walking out near the bar with our check to find our server to pay. We went in with a voucher for two free movie tickets and walked out spending $74 + tip for such a poor experience. If you decide to check them out just be mindful and go in with no expectations and maybe you won't end up being disappointed. And if anyone gets a chance to experience the blankets, let me know how they are. read more

Star Cinema Bolingbrook IL spot has a nice atmosphere and I love the seating in the theaters. The theater, overall, is very nice. However, we paid for the VIP seating, which comes with unlimited popcorn and blanket services. Upon our arrival, there was no attendee to take our order, no blanket or popcorn. After calling for service and receiving our food, we realize we haven't received our blankets. So, my husband asked about the blankets and we were told that they are upon request. Wait...but we paid for the blanket service, right??? Check this out, a little bit more time passes by and I'm thinking, where's the popcorn? So my husband ask our server, about the popcorn. Guess what he says? "Oh the popcorn is upon request"... That was it for me...I summons the server into the hallway to politely let him know that we paid for the VIP service and therefore have already paid for the blanket service and the unlimited popcorn...He knows this because he's servicing the VIP section...I further told him that you need to assume that we want all that comes with the VIP services as advertised unless we tell you we don't want it... I mean, Star Cinema, how are you going to advertise VIP services and withhold it from your customers. That's simply false advertisement. If we never asked about the blankets or the popcorn, they would not have given it to us. read more
