    Market down with a star.

Everyone working here stared at me the whole time I was in here. Must be the Stare Market. Pretty cheap market in a pretty expensive neighborhood which has a pharmacy inside - which is a pretty good Pharmacy too. Definitely one of the better places to look for groceries in this area. Yeah it's not cheap but it's a lot cheaper than a lot of the alternatives and it's in a perfect area close to a lot of amazing food places too.

Damn, the worst watermelon I've ever had in my life. I paid so much money and carried it on my back and brought it home.

Worst watermelon I've ever had in my life Most likely, the watermelon was kept in the warehouse for too long and its contents are now almost full.

Very large market that was quite busy for 8pm on a weekday evening. They do have a huge selection here of ready-to-eat and ready-to-heat. I don't know that I've ever seen a supermarket with at Teppanyaki grill (they call it a "Noodle Bar") though it was closed this late in the day. Produce section was large but there were quite a few items out of stock. Same in the meat department (very low on chicken) and a few shelves in the grocery section had holes. Lots of registers open at the front including a self-checkout. Front-end management seemed engaged.

I typically stop by here after exercising and after all the renovations they've done I must say that this place is quite nice to shop in. Everything is well organized and well maintained. There's an organics section now which is new. Overall everything has a more "premium" air about it. Also it's nice not having to worry about having a loyalty card to get the special discounts. Parking is ample in the private lot out back and from what I've seen they have a little luggage shuttling system thingy (think airport) to bring groceries down below so you can pull up to it in your car and load everything in. (Dunno if it's still operational though since I've never used it). Also I'm a bit bummed that they completely got rid of the self checkout area (though in hindsight there was always something wrong with at least ONE of the areas leading to a massive bottleneck).

$15.35 a few items to help fill the gap until the weekly Market Basket trip

Two stars for the following reasons -The prices are very high. Usually 1.5-2 times the equivalent items at Market Basket. -The quality of the food is very low. The only apples they sell are grainy. The Lucern Brand Milk I bought there tasted off the day I brought it home and curdled in less than a week. They don't have any good Cheese. -I frequently see very long lines and only half the checkstands open. You would think for what they charge, they could pay more cashiers. -Speaking of cashiers, some of them are pretty rude to the customers. The first time I came here after moving to Allston I walked up to a belt and set the basket down. The cashier said "Unpack your basket and put it there" pointing to the floor in front to the belt. A please would be appropriate in this situation. I am a paying customer. -I was shocked the first time I walked in here and received my groceries in those old fashion flimsy plastic bags. I didn't know they were still allowed in Mass. I guess they were only outlawed in Cambridge and Somerville. The cashiers always double them without thinking. I bought one loaf of bread once. Automatically put in double plastic bags. Seriously, the bread itself is already in a plastic bag. Now I have a cabinet full of the crinkly useless plastic which makes me feel like I am living in a red state again. I continue to shop here a few times a week when I just need a couple of items because I feel it isn't worth going all the way to Somerville Market Basket for just a couple of items. I try to stock up at Somerville Market Basket weekly or every two weeks so that I can minimize my Star Market Shopping. This location gets two stars instead of one because it is open 24/7 so I don't have to worry about getting back from work in time when I need something. Also because it looks clean...... Looks, that is.......

Has a lot of nice, I told customer service and they casually said they have had mice for YEARS. Very unsanitary.

Great grocery store! Fairly clean and feels bigger than the Fenway location. I like the variety of products they sell here.

Average American market. It reminded me of Safeway: Star Market is like East coast version of Safeway. I wish there were slef-checkouts.

I stopped by Eataly craving a comforting bowl of pasta, and the carbonara definitely hit the spot…read more The sauce was rich, creamy, and coated every strand of pasta perfectly without feeling too heavy. The guanciale added a nice salty crunch, and the cheese tied everything together with a deep, savory flavor. The atmosphere is lively and makes you feel like you're dining in a bustling Italian market. Even with how busy it was, the service was friendly and the food came out quickly. If you're visiting Eataly and can't decide what to order, I'd recommend giving the carbonara a try. It's a classic done well and worth coming back for.

This is a review about trying to book a private event at Eataly Boston…read more I was planning a corporate event in conjunction with a conference and I knew would be perfect for Eataly. But I don't think they actually *want* to host private events! May 29: I emailed their Boston-specific private dining email (per their website). June 8: After no response, I emailed again. June 16: I filled out the event request on their website. June 22: I called and spoke to someone, who said she could forward my email to the events team. June 24: After no response, I called again, only to be told that she would once again forward my email. June 28: I finally get an email back. But it's from the cooking class team, not private/events dining. June 30: A *full month* after my initial outreach, I finally get a response. I still don't have an individual's name or a way of contacting them except through the generic email. In the time spent waiting for Eataly to get back to me about a private event, I got quotes from two other locations quite close by at comparable places, both of which came in significantly below Eataly's costs.

Whole Foods in the Back Bay area of Boston is a compact outpost of the high end grocery chain,…read morecovering the essentials without the space of a suburban store. We walked into a produce section that is well stocked and an organic selection consistent with what the brand delivers. The hot bar is expanded and makes the store a practical option for a ready made lunch or dinner without much planning required. Pricing is a consistent downside that makes this not our first choice. Individual items across the store run significantly higher than what we would pay at a conventional grocery chain, and the urban location pricing adds another layer on top of the standard Whole Foods premium. For staple items and everyday groceries, the cost adds up quickly enough that we decide to buy from here only if we really need to. For a quick prepared meal or a specific organic item in the Back Bay area, it serves its purpose, but for regular grocery shopping we look elsewhere.

We like this Whole foods market- it has everything from produce to breads to prepared foods…read more I especially like the prepared foods - the soups are good for lunches. I would like to see more variety in the hot foods bar - especially because we always come here on Saturday and it's the same dishes. I understand they probably have a rotating menu so each day probably has a different selection but since we only come on Saturday it's pretty much the same every Saturday. Please change out the menu. Yesterday they even had some cut up oranges for free samples and that was great!! You get to try the fruit before buying- I mean you generally can't go wrong with cuties but still I thought this was a nice touch!! Loved it! Now that they have so many more self service checkout stations it's great! The space is also more efficient now. Their service is good too - they have someone there to quickly help if necessary. I like the green bananas as I like to buy them that way so they ripen over the next few days and can be eaten while yellow before they become sad lol! Overall we like this store - would like to see more selection/ rotation of menu in the hot bar!
