a bag of wine and cheese

Wow! So I work in the city and it was such a nice day outside decided to try something new and close. Went off the ratings alone which is 4.5 stars that didn't bother reading reviews and just looking at pics. I came for the pastrami but found out they don't carry that anymore. Went with what I believe is the house special the Italian sandwich on ciabatta. Only thing u Shld know is tht I like Mayo and mustard on my sandwich's and their Mayo tastes sweet like miracle whip. So beware of that but other than that what a perfect sandwich. Friendly service and also a great cup of jambalaya!

Small shop that mostly sells Italian delicacies with a small deli. They also have a rotating series of lunches and that's what we got when we stopped in today. I opted for the "Beef Short Rib Dinner" which was a decent portion of shredded beef on top of white rice, some grilled veggies and slaw. Quite tasty and a decent portion for $11. Higher end chips and drinks and dry pastas, sauces and such in addition to the usual stuff. It's definitely not a supermarket but you can do pretty well for a fill-in shop here. A can of flavored Pellegrino went with lunch quite nicely.

You should not be serving bread with this many holes. It's not the first time I've had this issue.

Since the feedback form on your website doesn't work, this is going here: (6/29/23) I ordered a ham + muenster sandwich today with spicy mustard on sourdough, and what I got was basically inedible. The sourdough bread had so many holes in it (some of them literally an inch across) that every time I picked it up, it crumbled more and more, things fell out, and I had to rebuild my sandwich with every bite. Nevermind the constant mustard-all-over-my-fingers problem, and the problem of the meat and cheese being slapped on there without any care such that it didn't nearly reach 3 of the 4 edges of the bread and I had to redistribute it myself. And the spicy mustard used, while good, was slathered on in FAR too high of a quantity. Again, literally every bite was like eating an entire packet of hot Chinese mustard - nostrils burning, eyes watering, not really tasty or complementary to the other filings at all (and I can take VERY spicy food). Seriously, you guys -it wasn't even busy in there today...there was no need to so carelessly make this sandwich; and the holy bread should have been tossed or made into croutons or something else. You can't be serving that to someone paying twelve dollars for lunch. (See attached photos.) UPDATE (7/20/23) -- Went in again today. Stood in the sandwich line for over 5 minutes only to be told when I asked for a meatball sub that I had to go over to the other side of the counter and stand in another/different line to order hot subs. (I checked afterwards, and there are NO signs anywhere directing anything of the sort.) And when making my sub, the guy had to go back to the cold line to get ingredients...so why the separate line AND no information given to customers on time-limited lunch breaks? 5-10 minutes later when eating the sub (which, keep in mind had only 3 pingpong-ball-size meatballs in it for $12.95) I discovered that it wasn't even hot -- as in it was never hot; just barely warm, and not even enough so to ever have begun melting any of the cheese on it. I won't even get into the absolutely tasteless, bargain basement quality sub roll it was built on. Given that the above experiences are about the 4th and 5th time in a row I've been upset and/or disappointed with Bacco's, I'm going to finally call it lesson learned and will not be visiting again. At the very least not for sandwiches. The prepared foods and groceries are marginally okay in a pinch...when you have about half a paycheck to spare. You guys used to be really good. What happened?? (And don't give us excuses about labor shortages - you have just as much staff as you ever did.)

    Spicy BBQ turkey wrap!

I came here for lunch for the very first time, and as a result of both the food and service, I will be certain to return. I was immediately greeted upon entering, and met by several smiling faces as I walked over to place my sandwich order. The nice guy who made my sandwich was very friendly and although he told me about all the specials they had, I was told by a friend to get the spicy BBQ turkey wrap, so my mind was already made. The sandwich was finished before I had a chance to take a complete tour of the store, but I noticed they had fresh produce and a variety of snacks that all looked tasty. I was happy to see they had a wide range of kombucha as well as plenty of kinds of chips to go along with my sandwich. Couldn't recommend this place highly enough - I can't wait to go back!

    That's a whole lotta pastrami.

Just when you thought all those excellent, gourmet market/delis in the Back Bay biz district closed for the weekend. Welp, Bacco's. High end snacks, house made spreads and an assortment of bulk mixes boxed up for your tenth of a mile trek through the Public Garden... I draw your attention, good sirs and female sirs, to their sandwichian prowess. First, ish is put on Iggy's. Second, the bacon aioli, beer mustard and horseradish shmear are all forged within their walls. Third, the pastrami and corned beef? Cured and smoked in house. Fourth, you better believe there are fat stacks on your under $9 lunch. I had to have battled through more than a half pound of pastrami for $8.50. Outrageous. Fifth, and unbeknownst to me until after I drooled over my creation, there is a secret sandwich called... ** Spoiler alert: If you'd like to discover what I've found on your own, then go away now. ** ** Seriously. Go. ** ... ** Are they gone? ** The Heuben. A mix of corned beef and pastrami, Emmentaler with house-pickled vegetables, bacon aioli and sriracha. It's off-menu. Ask for it by name.

I find this so much more useful and functional than receiving a weekly mystery box of fruits and vegetables that I quite possibly don't have any interest in. After all, a girl can only eat so many apples and bean sprouts... The products available for purchase include dairy, fresh pastas, fruits, vegetables, meats, bread, and more. Your delivery date is based on your location. For instance, I live in Cambridge, so my food arrived Tuesday morning bright and early (before 8:00 AM). I was beyond happy with the presentation of my order. The delivery person placed all of my perishable items in the cooler I set out in our lobby, and my other items were neatly packed in brown paper bags. All of the produce was clean and attractive (even the potatoes were tidy), and not a single egg was broken. I point this out because PeaPod always breaks my eggs and it drives me crazy. In Season is a bit pricey, but no more so than Whole Foods. My only true quibble with the service was that the meat comes frozen. I guess I was expecting brown paper packages tied up with string and a hand delivery by Julie Andrews, but let's be realistic, the majority of the fresh meat I buy ends up in the freezer anyway. I doubt I'll be utilizing this service every week, but I want to stress again that the quality of these products is phenomenal and I definitely envision having a delivery from time to time.

Duh. My delivery is here! Thursday I had placed an online order with In Season. They promise my goodies will be on my porch, lovingly hand delivered via bicycle courier, before 7:30 in the morning. I go out and grab my bag of goodies. Fresh blueberries, raspberries, heirloom tomatoes, fingerling potatoes, fresh pasta and a hunk of locally made cheddar. Fabulous.
