I am visiting Strongsville for a funeral and desperately needed a mani. I saw Star Nails on Yelp with decent reviews and stopes in on a Tuesday morning at 10:45. I was seen right away. My mani was quick and all I could expect from a basic mani. The establishment is small (only 3 nail desks and pedi stations) and typical of a nail salon. Where my nails were done was clean. I usually call to make an appointment on the same day and they are always able to fit me it. I have also developed a great relationship with the staff there. When I call they recognize my voice and who I would like to schedule my appointment with which I appreciate. Also the price is AMAZING. This is the first place I have been in over a year in Ohio. I don't normally get a pedicure, but I was bored and wanted to treat myself. The staff was very friendly and my nails look great. They have 3 Pedicure chairs, and all three are nice with massagers. The floor looked clean and each tub was sprayed with unlabeled cleaner after each client was finished. I am not sure where their utensils come from. I am used to salons that have their tools in sterilizing baskets. I did not see this. I did have an ingrown toe nail, and that was corrected by the pedicurist. After about 2 hours after going home, both of my big toes started to be a little sore. I soaked my feet in my bathtub with some Epsom salts and put neosporin on them and went to bed. I woke up the next morning with both of my big toes in a lot of pain. I soaked them again with Epsom salts and again put neosporin with bandaids. Given that one of my big toes had an ingrown toe nail, I expected it to get inflamed. but my other toe, the cuticle on the side had a fairly good sized cut in it. So now 2 days after the Pedicure, I am feeling better with a just a little pain. Without taking care of my feet...I probably would have gotten an infection. I am giving 3 stars because of the staff (they really are great), but I would probably not go back. read more

This is a really great little place. It is the first nail place I've been to since moving to North Royalton. Their staff is very friendly and the prices are very affordable. $27 including tax for a shellac and manicure. Despite my badly damaged nails (from a prolonged Ohio winter and my bad biting habit,) she gave me a nice manicure without making my hangnails bleed. She cleaned up my cuticles and hangnails, and they feel and look much better. I will be back for sure. read more

I've been going here for years and love the way they do my nails. They last longer than any other salon that I go to, are very reasonable and Sandy is always pleasant, efficient and QUICK. She gives you a quality product in a short time so I'm not wasting my entire day off getting my nails done. This is not a place I would go for a relaxing "spa day" experience, but it is what it is. Great results in a timely manner. If you're looking for an aesthetically pleasant, uppity spa, this isn't the place for you. I was sat right away I signed in at 214 and I was out and paid by 232. She rushed through my whole fill. As soon as I walked out I looked at my nails and one looked lumpy and like crap. I simply rubbed it and my polish peeled off. They also say a fill is $15 I paid $30. I was just so frustrated I didnt question it and just paid and left. Very disappointed. New owner. Did a very poor job on a French manicure. Painted very thick white edges were much higher than the rest of the nail. One nail broke on the way home in the car.,The staff was not friendly. One thing that really bothered me was 3 people carried on an animated conversation in Vietnamese for over 5 min next to me. read more

Came in with two other people, we werent greeted for a few minutes, totally ignored. A woman came out of the back room and asked what we wanted very uninterested and blunt. She said she could only take one of us because we were walk ins and she had appointments. The boy took my grandmother and scraped her nail polish off harshly, while the woman took her appointment. Another customer walked in and asked if she could get her gel set and the woman said yes in 15 minutes. Just moments after she declined me and my aunt. Very rude, took my grandmothers money without a good day or come again and went back to watching TV. Would not return. read more

AWFUL!!! Owner does not take time- she sanded my shellac and never allowed them to soak off. Called to ask for assistance as I should have said something at time of service but figured she knew what she was doing. When called she was not willing to do anything. The worst pedicure I ever had. First of all the technician was so rude. The entire visit she talked on her phone. My nails were cut crooked and the application of polish could have been done better by a child. Even with a balance on a gift card left I would never go back.
