I have been to this nail salon many times. Today my nail tech said he would not clip my nails short as requested before polishing. Cutting before polishing is the standard practice. He insisted that was too short and then he had to file them a lot after polishing to make them the length I requested which I need for my work. I had to ask him to go shorter several times. He begrudgingly filed them short then basically kicked me out and would not do my pedicure to match. Stressful and not at all relaxing. Won't go back. Poor customer service skills. Did not listen to the customer. read more

This is literally the best place in Yakima. They ALWAYS execute perfection. We all know those places that are sometimes good and sometimes ehh your nails could've been better. Not this place. The owners are the only ones who do nails and they always look perfect, even, symmetrical. Plus, i never feel like they're trying to sell me. The salon is small, I think 3 desks, but really clean. They have tons of colors choose from if you're doing gel or dip. I personally do dip and I've never find a place so good at it. They are ALWAYS booked so this isn't a walk in place, but it's worth it. Prices are also the same as every where else in the area so why not go somewhere good?! read more

I stopped at Star Nails today, the flashing sign indicated they were open... the door was locked. I knocked when I saw someone inside... no response... I called the number on the window... twice I left voicemail Note... I wasn't looking to have anything done today, I wanted to discuss what I am interested in doing for a wedding I will be going to next month. I want to make sure they can do it ( I don't get my nails done regularly and haven't had them done since moving here) I want nails and pedicure I don't feel this is unreasonable Hours later I received a call back and the person couldn't understand that I wanted to come and discuss then schedule the day to have done ( if able) she kept asking if I wanted to come in today or tomorrow to have things done .. that the door is locked .. appointments only ... manicure.. pedicure.. what time tomorrow??!! I called a few weeks ago and made an appointment, had to call right back and cancel due to a conflict so I tried to call and make another appointment today and my call kept going straight to VM so I called from my home phone and it went through and when they heard it was me they hung up...THEY BLOCKED ME! read more

I have never, in my life, given a bad review. I typically just assume that, if I get bade service, it's just me and other people must have better experiences. That being said, when I walked into this salon this morning and asked if they accepted walk-ins I was told not to come back and that they would remember me. The salon has a large sign that says "WALK-INS WELCOME". This is the second time I have walked in and been told that I have to make an appointment. I stated that they "should probably consider taking down the sign". They accused me of being rude and began yelling at me and being aggressive. I literally just had surgery and simply wanted a pedicure... In all my life I have never dealt with any business that was so rude and aggressive with literally no provocation. The couple that runs this business was very professional and kind. They answered in detail every question I had. I have been to many nail salons where they speak another language in front of me and to many people, like myself, it is very uncomfortable not knowing what's being said. The only time this couple spoke another language was when they showed affection toward each other and when he brought her a coffee. The couple who owns this place are very rude, their prices are expensive and if you point something out that you would like to have fixed, they will be offended and go to the extreme of blocking your phone number. I don't recommend it here. If you have time and need a friendly family oriented nail place to relax and visit with staff, go to Pro Nails they do a great job. My husband and I went there for pedicures. The owners could have cared less that we were there. Did not ask if I wanted toenails trimmed or cut. He cut them too short and uneven. The cuticules not trimmed, feet rough, and nail polish messy. Didn't even put on base coat even when I asked for it. I told him also that my cuticles not trimmed and feet rough. His reply was I have dry skin. Why do you think I wanted a pedicure!!! Horrible experience. Will have to get another pedicure very soon. Don't go there. You will be very disappointed. Never in my life have I been treated so horribly. I walked out. Horrific. Hurt me.. I made note if it..they scoffed at me.. and attempted to paint straight old regular polish on my dip removed drilled and beaten nails with no manicure. Best place in Yakima by far. ALWAYS refer people over to Hailey and Chris (they own and run the place). I had exclusively been going to them for full sets, and pedicures since about 2016ish. In 2020 I stopped getting full sets and only pedicures. Ever since then I noticed Hailey would refuse service for me, she completely stopped scheduling me (no idea why) all the time I continued to refer clients, and purchase gift certificates as gifts during the holidays. Today I called in to try to schedule a pedicure and she plain out told me she will not service me, I asked why as I was very confused and she simply said she onot serviced her clients and hung up. She has every right to refuse service to anybody, just be aware if you stop receiving a service religiously how fills require, she will stop servicing you as she has done the same to other friends and family members who stopped getting full sets from her. read more

I was very impressed with the quality, the selection of colors, the set up and cleanliness of this business. The couple may come across as rude because they are busy and in high demand. I suggest making an appointment. This is probably the best place in Yakima. I have been to other places in town that could not compete with the quality of service provided here. I came in with a variety of problems with my nails. I had done a home repair with a press on, several broken nails, and remnants of shellac. In 30 min my nails we fabulous. Easily the best nail salon in Yakima, the couple that owns the place are very nice and professional. They do answer phone calls sometimes while working with you but it's just the 2 of them so that's understandable, nobody else is going to answer it for them. They do amazing work and they don't take forever to do so. Make sure to make an appointment if possible though, they are busy!! Love this place so much. read more

This nail salon has ABSOLUTELY horrible service. They are EXTREMELY RUDE!! These people are very UNPROFESSIONAL. I would not recommend doing business with them. If you don't leave a tip and a big one at that, they refuse to make additional appointments for you. They are all about the money!! I have not posted a negative review before, about any business, but I couldn't resist on posting this one today. I hope it keeps people from going to this nail salon. I wouldn't want you to receive the same treatment I did today!! Sometimes you leave disappointed or feel unhappy with business service but the treatment I received by these 2 owners today, was beyond horrific. I have never had this kind of service at any business before. Never is a strong word, but I mean it! I have NEVER had this type of service. Don't chance this salon! There are so many other nail salons in this area and ones with owners and staff that appreciate their customers and don't expect a $10 or more tip! I was told they were full and couldn't fit me in for a nail fill! A couple weeks later I called back! The lady was rude and said " We Full"! I started to question if they were trying to avoid me and racked my brain as to why she wouldn't make an appointment for me? I called from a different phone, realizing that when I went there THE FIRST TIME THAT, they had asked for my cell phone number! I decided to call from work, and low and behold they had room and told me to choose a time. This charged my brain to wonder what could be going on! I showed up and the lady owner said to me "you call from another number"? I realized then that she was avoiding me. I started to ponder why she would not want me back and simply came to the conclusion that I had only left a $2-3 tip any time I had been there. I confronted the lady and asked if she was excusing me because I didn't leave a big enough tip. She told me that it was because I was unhappy with my nails!. I told her if I was unhappy, that I wouldn't return. I explained that I liked the way she did my nails and thought she was the best in Yakima! I was yelled at and excused with the wave of a hand and told not to come back. I was flabbergasted and confused, simply thought I had done something wrong or that the cause of all of this was because of something I did! I discovered that in fact it was because I am not a regular enough client and don't leave a big enough tip. BEWARE these people may create an unsettling and uncomfortable situation for you. Read further reviews to discover that my situation was not a one time offensive outburst. They charge $30 for a basic gel nail fill. A tip is a personal choice and I don't think it should be automatically expected. Please consider GOING TO ANOTHER SALON!!!!!!!
