I really did not want to write this review because I'm just not the kind of person who complains a lot but it has come to a point where I just don't care anymore. I chose this hair salon for its good reviews. First of all, they didn't give me a quote on my hair, I have naturally straight brunette hair that's easy to work with, and I chose a peekaboo style, so she only worked with 1/4 to 1/3 of all my hair. She bleached and toned it and told me to come back another week to finish it up. I paid $170 for the first appointment, I was actually a bit surprised but it seemed as if that's not a lot at all, so I didn't mind. When I came back she bleached my hair again and colored it with the color I have chosen, she said I was gonna pay the same cost as last week's but I asked if she could lower that because I wasn't prepared for that amount, I paid another $120. I actually did like my hair result until a few days later I noticed that the color was fading. As of now, the color is completely gone without a hint of pink on it. We called them so many times to fix it and all we hear are excuses and they have stopped contacting us too. So, there you have it, I learned my lesson, never going back there. This is the color of my hair at day 3 or 4 after the hair coloring. read more

Karla is amazing! Thanks to her I got to experience the most relaxing and soothing facial. She was very considerate of the fact that I'm pregnant and reassured me that there were no harsh chemicals in the products she would be using that could harm baby. When it came to positioning, she made sure that I was all settled and comfortable prior to beginning the facial. She was considerate enough to ask if any scents bothered me that she should avoid. I was in love with her before she even began the facial! The whole experience was amazing. I have not been that relaxed in a long time. I did not realize how badly my skin needed Karla to work her magic! Afterwards she was kind enough to recommend products for my skin care and stretch mark prevention with some advice on how to incorporate them into my daily routine. Again, Karla is simply amazing. I will be making a point to go see her more often. The gals that were at the front desk were also very welcoming and kind (with great personalities too!). They pointed me in the direction of the products that Karla recommend and were beyond helpful. Great team of fantastic women! Highly recommend this Spa/salon! read more

Just had first massage from male therapist Adrian - absolutely hands down one of the top massages I've ever had to this day. He applied the correct amount of pressure, consistently throughout the entire appointment, but checked in on me a few times to see if I wanted it changes at all. He worked on the exact target areas we discussed right before getting on the table - and he nailed it! Absolutely listened to my needs, and was extremely thorough, detailed, skilled and talented - nothing was rushed - it was soothing, quiet and peaceful. He helped work out some prior sports related tightness, muscle soreness and other previous injuries that needed attention - yet still felt pampered and relaxed like jello by the end. Totally an hour-long vacation journey with massage - highly recommend him. Fantastic! read more

Sorry, but I got the worst manicure to date at this salon and spa. I went in for a French manicure and came out with a mess. My nails were filed unevenly, I asked for a square tip and she rounded the tips, she tried to paint the French style twice and when it was looking awful and messy she tried blaming my nails (I've never had a problem before with my manicures). I had been there way too long and was getting irritated and ready to leave so she just painted them a color. When I left I still had white paint under my nails from the French manicure attempts and colored paint on the sides. Luckily I had time before my event to go home and clean up my nails. I really wish I hadn't paid, but I'm too non-confrontational! I know others that have had good experiences here, but my first was bad enough for me to question the skill levels at this spa...at least on the nail side. read more

Unfortunately I had a terrible experience dealing with the manager. I had a cut and balayage service last week, and the color didn't process evenly. It's patchy and the crown of my head has no color at all. My stylist told me to schedule another appointment and she's make it right. I let her know I'd be bringing my kids, and she said that wasn't an issue. I get to my appointment today only to be turned away by the manager because kids aren't allowed unless they're receiving some sort of service. I was told by the stylist again I could come in on Monday when no other stylists would be there and the kids could come with since the salon part would be empty. I get a phone call shortly after explaining I can't come in with my kids and can just reschedule for some other time. I'm also advised by the manager that it's my responsibility to find childcare and it's not her problem that my color didn't process as expected. I requested a partial refund for my inconveniences since I've already paid over $200 to get nothing close to what I asked and shouldn't have to pay for another service. I also agreed to come back next week and shift things around in my own schedule to make sure I have childcare. The manager simply refused to do anything for me and said I shouldn't come back to their salon because obviously I won't be happy with anything even though she's trying to help me. Her only help, was Moving a couple appointments around to squeeze me in Wednesday evening but i still have to pay for another color treatment. She was unprofessional, rude, and overall unpleasant and not at all willing to help. Definitely not going back.. read more

I was recently pampered here for my birthday. Having been in the spa industry for the last 5 years, I tend to be overly critical when I receive services. However, I was pleasantly surprised at A La Mode. The rooms were very clean, the massage was one of the best I've received in a long time. Sami listened to my issues, asked very good questions and allowed me the luxury of completely relaxing. My massage was followed up with a pedicure. The pedicure area is unique, I quite enjoyed the privacy aspect of it and Krista gave me a beautiful and relaxing pedicure. Obviously this spa is upscale so the cost reflects that, but your money will be well spent if your services were anything like mine. read more

I have been a long time customer of A La Mode and have been so happy with many of their services. Crista has done wonders with my manicures (shellac) and knows that I am super ticklish, so gives me a exceptional, tickle free pedi every time. Malini is a miracle worker as a masseuse. Holly is awesome with hair, and Erin has tamed my caterpillar brows. There were other employees that have moved on and I miss them, but I have always had the best service from each person who works their, from the front desk to the owner. read more

I really enjoyed my services that I received, however Sabrina the girl at the front desk was very rude. This isn't the first time, but this time it really needed to be said. As soon as I walked in she looked at me up and down and gave me a nasty look and when she asked if I wanted to water or tea she said it sooo rudely. I LOVE A La Mode! I love the staff too. They are all so super friendly and helpful. It's a small, intimate spa and salon. Very nice and I love that it is warm and comfy. It's not all puffed up and fancy like other ones, but the prices aren't inflated either. I go to get waxing and pedicures. I have been going to A La Mode for over 3 years for many services (waxing, hair cuts, pedis, products, and massage). I drive from 40 miles to go there. I adore Lisa -- she is THE BEST esthetician. I see her for facials and waxing services. She is very professional and always makes her guests feel welcomed and at-ease, and does a wonderful job. I also used to get my hair cut there (but the person I went to moved away). I've also gotten pedicures and massages there -- all of which I've been very happy with. Their prices are very fair for Aveda products/services. I've never had a bad experience at A La Mode, but if I did, I'm confident that they would address the problem. I've been to A la Mode a couple of times for a massage. I've enjoyed the service both times. When I first went, that was my first time getting a massage and I was so impressed that I got a gift certificate for one of my family members so that she herself could get a massage. It was convenient because they kept the gift certificate on file, and it was hassle free. Said family member told me that she was very impressed with the service and the massage that she received. I received a gift certificate from a friend that has nothing but delightful things to say about the staff and relaxing atmosphere. She is always telling about her regular visits with a massage therapist name Flor. I was more than grateful and excited for my relaxation time. when I first walked I was greeted by a receptionist named Sabrina. Any excitement for the service I was going to received had soon dissolved by her " your wasting my time" attitude. I was waiting for instruction on what I was suppose to do, but felt uncomfortable approaching her to see where the restroom was located. I was more than thankful when Flor came to my rescue and gave me a wonderful massage. I usually don't do reviews but first impressions are everything to me. between the barbaric chugging of her sparkling water to the unapproachable stance, it left a bad taste in my mouth. I don't think I have ever met a more unhappy person working as front desk in a customer service industry. unfortunately by hiring individuals like her it says something about the people over seeing her.
