Interiors are a bit utilitarian and spartan for my tastes as I prefer a space that is more warm and welcoming. The exterior mural on the side of the building did give the place a bit more character. Many of the drinks only come in one 12 ounce size, so might not be the place if you prefer larger drinks. The mocha latte I ordered was a bit bitter and not excessively sweet, but otherwise strong. Service was a bit on the slow side, but they were experiencing a bit of a morning rush, so I won't hold it against them. While it's not a place I'd venture out of my way to visit again, Backyard Beans Coffee Company seems to be a solid coffee spot for locals and offer an ample menu of food items for those seeking something to eat.

They offer a few treats but mainly it's coffee. I had my usual latte and my wife had the seasonal pumpkin pie latte. The barista did a nice job texturing the milk and to a great temperature. She was able to draw some nice latte art in good ceramic mugs. The flavor was slightly bright but smooth and creamy. The pumpkin flavor was also very good - not too sweet and a very good flavor mix. Overall, both lattes were very enjoyable and I'd recommend this if you are looking for coffee in this area.

We started with cinnamon rolls that were perfectly soft and warm and came with a side of extra icing, which was a really nice touch. For lunch I had shrimp and grits. The flavor was good and presentation was nice. The shrimp were small, but there was a generous amount which helped offset the size. The space is open and has a nice mix of tables and booths. There are a lot of large windows, and it was freezing on the day we went so the restaurant interior was also freezing. They do have a fireplace, which is a nice touch, but didn't help with warmth. No more Philly HMart trips needed to get my Paris Baguette fix. The ambiance is very cute, friendly customer service, and pastry cases/shelves were fully stocked. Picked up some sweet treats to share with friends. I will be returning to work remotely while enjoying a pastry and a caffeinated beverage. I am sure this location will do very well!
