They had terrible attitudes rolled their eyes at me and after I paid for my food both of them handled my food had it just sitting on the counter and it took a young lady that was a cashier to come up and bag my food because Bree wanted to argue with me about it, just coming out yet instead of packaging it up and serving the customer she sat it down on the countertop uncovered. The barista who took my drink order was friendly, but my drink was made without a label identifying the customer and/or contents. The signage on the outside doors stated orders were for take-away only, that indoor seating was not allowed; however, multiple people were seated at the time I arrived. I sat with my companion for about 90 minutes before the manager roughly/harshly adjusted chairs and began taping them off & turning other customers away, discouraging them from sitting at tables. Overall it was a nice alternative to the location farther downtown where we intended to go, except for streets being blocked for travel due to the pending ball-drop/NYE festivities. read more

I just moved back to the area, the neighborhood I live in is well known for being "dog friendly." Yesterday I had two pups taking photos outside of the local bank next door, they did so great, I was hoping to give them a "puppacino" from Starbucks. We did, and they had the best day EVER! This morning is my birthday! I wanted to start with another walk with my pup (small white-ish one). He is almost 2 and already healing from a broken leg! This means he hasn't gotten "out" much through the winter months while healing. The manager(?) heard him bark one time while re-stocking the shelves and informed me that they only allow "service animals who are under control." I do not appear disabled, however, I become overwhelmed too easily which is why my pup started barking at her. (not really his mistake either). This is why I rarely, if ever, approach Starbucks, and never alone. I asked if I could just grab a "puppacino" and she could leave it outside for us while we left in the meantime? When she left it outside I asked how I would have been able to do better in order to redeem the birthday drink from the app? She told me I would have to come back without the dog, and also she does not have anything to do with the app, but she would also have to "see it" in order for her to confirm I am correct and provide me with a treat for celebrating? That's okay Starbucks. I do not support how you treat your workers, including this poor manager, which is why she rolled her eyes at me and was not friendly this morning. I deleted the app. I will not be returning. My dog and I are able to celebrate nice things any time and literally any where else! (thats why we keep whipped cream in the fridge) read more

For being the training center of the Buffalo Starbucks the service here is consistently bad and the cafe is typically dirty. Depending on the time that you go in the various staff are more interested in themselves than in providing service to the patrons or at being efficient about it. This is my least favorite Starbucks in Buffalo however am typically forced to go here because of it's convenient location. Don't expect the typical Starbucks experience from this location. read more

This is definitely my favorite location in the city. I used to work next door at ETS, and would come here every shift, sometimes twice a shift. The staff is so incredibly friendly here that it blows my mind. They have an ample amount of seating and it feels more warm and welcoming than other locations. Also, the people watching opportunities cannot be beat, right on Elmwood. They also have a parking lot behind the location, which is clutch on the Elmwood strip. I tried the new ultra caramel frapp at my last visit, and it was so tasty. The whip cream is infused and amazing! Would definitely recommend. read more

So awesome they have a Clover machine, one of the best ways to drink coffee! They say the next closest clover machines is Rochester. There is a much cooler vibe at this Starbucks then most others. The furniture and decoration are much better here, they are probably trying to compete in the Elmwood culture and with the other 100 coffee shops on Elmwood. Internet is slow probably due to the normally crowded store. It seems a little small. Overall this is my favorite Starbucks in Buffalo. But if I had to pick a coffee shop on Elmwood for environment, I would normally pick Spot Coffee. read more

We came here on a rainy Saturday afternoon, simply looking for something to warm up after getting stuck in the cold. This particular location actually had a ton more drink options than some of the other locations I've been to, though I usually only go to Starbucks for their teas. The place was a little more packed than I thought it would have been, considering how bad the weather was and how empty the rest of the street was at the time. I was kind of disappointed in the seating situation, though that probably has to do with how small the location is. People were taking up a lot of space; one man even occupied one of the bigger tables. It really stunk, having to wait for one person to move so that my friend and I could sit down. I don't walk around Elmwood all the time, but if I did I would probably end up going here more often than not, simply because it's the only one in the village itself. Then again, I might eventually opt out for the local businesses instead. read more

This is the closest Starbucks to mi casa, but definitely not the closest coffee shop. I do prefer supporting local, but there's just something so addictive about their coffee! Service is superb. When we take our dog for a walk, we can order ahead via mobile, and they always have it ready and waiting. They always say hello and make a point of recognizing you. When I order in line, they let me take my time and don't make me feel rushed. Love that, appreciate that. The location is always clean, even during these winter months when everyone comes in with messy boots. Bathroom is also always clean and stocked. They offer a nice seating area, but I've never stayed. Every time I come in each seat seems to be taken, so you might wanna check it out during non busy hours if you wanted to stay around. read more

Drinks are inconsistent, the place is dirty, unaware of their lack of customer service, and let's face it.. over priced for the service provided. Several times they didn't secure lids on drinks causing them to spill in my car and on me. When I told the counter person, I was told "It happens". No apology. I'd be concerned about the potential of a burn accident on a youngster. I have contacted the management about these problems with no response/resolution. I wouldn't recommend. read more

I used to frequent this location, but this year they replaced all of their chairs and tables. The old chairs were in good condition. The new chairs do not offer any back support whatsoever and are completely flat and extremely uncomfortable. When I reached out to corporate customer service and district management about this issue I was given the run-around. I never go to this location anymore. It is clear that Starbucks couldn't care less about their customers' comfort and instead prioritizes uncomfortable seating to increase customer turnover and make more money. read more

The baristas working behind the bar were so great and friendly! They created a very welcoming environment. Unfortunately, when I asked the General Store Manager (JD) for help carrying my purchases (currently on crutches and unavailable to carry them myself), he rudely told me that he could not help me and proceeded to watch me stand helplessly at the hand-off-plane. I am a Starbucks Partner and in the most recent training (required for all employees, managers included) there is a specific situation set up in which the partner is prompted to help customers with limited mobility (the specific example was helping a customer on crutches open doors and carry their order to the seat they choose). I found in incredibly humiliating and I am extremely upset with the manager. Once again, the baristas working behind the bar were amazing and very friendly. I did not order any food, but both drinks were ready quickly and correctly. I wish the same could be said for management. read more

I am trying to earn stars for my continued participation in the Starbucks app. Tonight I tried the Peppermint Mocha Frappucino the grande cup of liquid refreshment did tickle my tastebuds. Roast coffee mocha sauce peppermint flavoured syrup blended with nonfat milk(my customization) and ice. Topped with whipped cream and dark chocolate curls. I ordered before I arrived by metro bus and it was ready when I entered. I enjoyed it very much. The employees were all nice and I even helped a fellow customer who entered through the rear door and was waiting at the counter. The only other employee was in the kitchen and didn't see him enter. The young lady who was taking care of the front of the restaurant was mopping up on the front and was unable to notice the customer had entered. Instead of raising my voice I walked over to alert her of the customer. She thanked me which was unnecessary but appreciated. The only issue was the bathroom. There are two of them however one was out of service. A customer came in and took an inordinate amount of time in the facility. It couldn't be helped but it was a hassle to have to wait. read more

Inspired moments. Recently I went into this location and I had one. Actually I had several. The clover machine at this place is amAzing! It's kind of like a french press but better. They use it to make these specialty "reserve" coffees that they've sourced from special places. It's crazy how much you can taste the difference between the flavors in each different coffee. My favorite is the Peru San Iganacio. It's my favorite cup of coffee in the whole city! I guess I should have prefaced this by saying I've been to most of the coffee shops in the city and love them. My neighborhood cafe is Sweetness 7 and I absolutely love the place. I still come to this Starbucks though for so many reasons. I got so excited about the clover coffee I forgot to mention the other reasons. I love the location near Bidwell Park. The baristas who work here are all pretty nice and the manager Jenny is literally amazing. She will make you smile with each interaction which says A LOT. There's so many other good drinks you can get too! Their iced teas (with mango or peach is my favorite), their cold brew, iced coffee, and even their drip coffee is wonderful. Everything they are used to customizing however you want it. You can even call ahead your order and they have an awesome streamlined system so it's ready when you show up! I don't know what it is about this Starbucks, but I love it! It's gotta be the atmosphere. I come here to study on the weekends often and if you can handle the constant rush of caffeine addicts like me coming in and out all day long without getting too distracted then this is the place for you. The line is always intimidatingly long but it moves quickly. The baristas aren't the kind to stop and ask you how your day is going, but that's understandable considering how busy they are. I just love a good conversation. I also like that there is a little bar area up by the counter. Anyways, there isn't a ton of seating, about five small tables inside, long "dining room-esque" one in the middle and then some couch lounge area, not ideal for people who need a space to spread out and do work but nice for meeting up with friends. The outdoor seating area is nice however it is not maintained throughout the day so when someone decides to spill, it doesn't get cleaned up. I like that there is a separate lot for parking. This makes coming here much more desirable because parking can be really difficult on the weekends, especially when the weather is nice. I think they should have almond milk also. read more

I enjoy coming here when I'm here, although it's blistering cold as they always pump the A/C super high. Some days that's a good thing, other days it's just too damn chilly. I love experiencing Starbucks in different places, especially since I'm from Canada, and there are whole different experiences, cafes and baked goods available from each country. I came here back in August with some friends. We stopped to get a coffee before our Goo Goo Dolls concert our in Darien Lake. I ordered a tall nonfat cafe misto with blonde roast and one pump of cinnamon dolce syrup, except they didn't brew the blonde roast after a certain time when I got there, so I had Pike Place instead, which was fine. I didn't get anything to eat, but their pastry selection was similiar to the ones I usually see at home. The barista at the bar making my drink was super friendly and conversed with us while making our drinks. This Starbucks is located on the quaint street of Elmwood, which this area looked like it had a few shops up and down the street, the area was nice, but finding a parking spot was difficult, because we didn't know where we were going and the parking lot for the store was pretty full. In conclusion, Buffalo is a beautiful historic city and I'd absolutely love to come back and sit in this Starbucks and read a book or enjoy the company of my friends, the whole place was pretty clean and there were plenty of seats available. read more

I am a Starbucks lover and know where almost every single one is in my territory for work. This is one that falls in that category, and this is one that I am not too particularly impressed with. I have been here a few times, and each time, my skinny caramel macchiato does not taste anything like a skinny caramel macchiato. Rather burnt disgustingness. The line was not even long either time so I do not know why they could not get it right. To be honest, the staff was not even the slightest bit friendly either. Not a typical SBux experience for me so I will more than likely not be back here, or I will stick with one of the Williamsville or downtown locations. read more

I'm here just about every other day because (if you've read my previous reviews, you'd know) I STILL don't have Wifi. Sad. Luckily for me their Wifi is surprisingly amazing, especially when you think of how many people it's being shared between. I've even been able to play video games on their Wifi with little to no issues! Plus, the couches are super comfy, and there are a ton of places to sit, both inside and outside. Their drinks are typical Starbucks drinks - you get what you'd expect to get in terms of that. The staff is small; only about 5-ish people working weekly, so if you frequent it as much as I do, you'll get to know them quickly. They're all really nice, even just before closing time, they'll always say hello with a smile. My only issue would be extremely warm it is inside the place. I've been there maybe 6-7 days in a row and they've only had their air-conditioner on once. You'd think with hot it is outside, they'd have their A/C cranked to max, but they don't - there's barely any difference to the temperature outside, which could grow to be an issue as it's only going to get hotter from here. Luckily their Mocha Frappes are delicious and cool me down pretty quickly! read more

I worked at Starbucks for 5 years (it's been quite a while though). You might think this would make me more forgiving or tolerant of baristas. Frankly, I think the opposite is true. I am understanding that you need to wait when it is busy and sometimes drinks get messed up but frankly I also know that it is not that hard of a job and it is easy to be nice to people. I am sorry to say that I have had a couple of problems at this starbucks. Lots of the staff seem fine but the manager was rather rude to me when I explained he was wrong about something. Starbucks headquarters agreed with me that he did not understand company policy (having to do with starbucks cards) and they sent me free drink coupons. I then went in to redeem the coupons and told him that he was in fact mistaken about the policy. I tried to say so politely, but he just ignored me... whatever... frankly, I know I will end up there again because working there for 5 years gave me an addiction to strong coffee and there are not many competitors in Buffalo (oh how I miss thee Peets, Stumptown, Alterra, et al.) I decided to go to Starbucks today because I had a dream last night that I was in Starbucks and I wanted to buy a bag of coffee beans. I felt inspired so I went, not to mention I have been meaning to buy coffee, since I don't have any at home. The coffee shop was pretty large, with several empty tables, which was nice. They also had a very wide selection of beans, perhaps 10 or so. I decided on buying the Kenya single-origin coffee, and the Komodo Dragon blend. The Komodo Dragon blend was intriguing because the bag described it as having the smell of a forest after a rain. Who doesn't like that? I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Starbucks plants a coffee tree for every bag of beans they sell. That is amazing! I felt like I helped improved the world just by buying coffee. They had two different coffees on tap. The first was called Gold Coast and the second was called Blond Roast. The barista let me sample both for free, which was nice. The Gold Coast blend was dark and diesely, you either love it or hate it. It reminded me of the taste of how scotch tastes, strong with a bite, minus the alcohol of course. Like the coffee was aged in a scotch barrel. The Blond Roast was delicious! It was bright and full of flavor. Both of them perked me up and got my brain running. But I had a coffee crash in 2-3 hours. So sleepy now... I also downloaded the Starbucks app while I was there. For every dollar you spend you get stars, that I believe allow you to buy more stuff. But you either have to get a reloadable Starbucks card or download the app to accrue them. I went for the app, which was simple and easy to use. You put in your credit card information and you add money to your account. When you go to pay, you click on the green circle that says how much money you have on your account, and the barista scans the barcode that appears on your phone. Then Starbucks takes money right out of your account. If you run out of money, you can always add more of course. It was neat, and convenient. It allows you to get Starbucks and leave your credit card and money at home, which is nice. Assuming you have a smart phone and you didn't run out of batteries of course. I also bought a really nice mug that has a drawing of Niagara Falls on it. They didn't have a Buffalo mug unfortunately. I also tried their Morning Bun and their Gouda, Egg, and Bacon sandwich. The Morning Bun they warmed, and it was soft and slightly dry. I think it requires some sort of drink to complement it. The Morning Bun had cinnamon in it, but it didn't taste very cinammony. It did taste slightly buttery though. I came up with a joke with my friend that I had to do squats this morning to get my Morning Buns. Get it? The breakfast sandwich tasted pretty good. It was like in between what you would get at a convenient store and a sit-down restaurant. For the mug, the morning bun and the breakfast sandwich, it was about $18. The two bags of beans and free coffee samples were $24. And by free coffee samples, she gave me two small cups of coffee. It wasn't a little sample cup like I was expecting. I actually got two full cups of each coffee, which was neat! As for the atmosphere, I really enjoyed it. They went from jazz to pop music. If you download the app you can even see what song is playing on the radio which is kind of bizarre and neat at the same time. You can also save the songs you like and create a playlist on Spotify. I wish you could request songs though, but I don't think it lets you. I really wanted to put on some Barbra Streisand. All in all, I would definitely come back. I loved the amount of seats, it was bright, but it did get busy at one point. At one point there wasn't a single empty table and there were about 20 people in line. Maybe school just let out? Their wifi wasn't working when I was there though, so I don't know how people were getting work done. I guess that was the one negative. There was a Pokestop nearby though, so that was convenient to Pokemon Goers. People give Starbucks a bad rap, but this one actually was nice. The people were friendly, the baristas were knowledgeable, they even spent the time to show me how the app worked. The coffee was delicious and flavorful. Neither of them tasted burnt at all. Hopefully my beans are delicious. I will try the Kenyan roast in the morning. I can't wait! Oh yeah, and they ground the beans for me on the setting I needed, which is handy. :) read more
