While this location is temporarily closed, I had the chance to visit before the closure. I'm sure it has all been said, so I won't try to reinvent the wheel. I love this location due to the large outdoor space. There is about twice as much space outside as opposed to inside. We travel with our dog quite a bit so this outside area is perfect. We have sat there with other dogs in the area and didn't have any issues. This time I purchased a Java Chip Light with Whipped Cream. Yes, I'm aware that isn't the most masculine drink, but hey... I love it! Hot day, cold day...I don't care. I think it makes me feel better than ordering a milk shake. Bonus:. They offer a pup cup for free as well. A small cup with whipped cream for the dog. Having grown up in Northern Virginia and coming from Richmond, I'd about had my fill of the long lines, backup up drive thrus, and baristas shouting out orders and having to bump shoulders with people just to pick up. Thankfully this Starbucks has none of those features. The baristas are well prepared and efficient with order processing, and the environment is much more like a coffee shop rather than a fast food joint. Extra props for the priority they give to cleanliness. The only thing concerning is trying to leave the parking lot. With traffic coming from Harris teeter on your right and coming off of 29 on your left, you may be waiting a while to leave. I've taken to just parking at teeter and walking. read more

I have had an incredibly crappy day (which definitely involved crying in public ) and was just feeling generally down in the dumps. I had an hour to kill and figured I would try to get some work done at this Starbucks. I walked in and obviously looked like a hot mess and the barista Sev was so kind. I mentioned my crappy day and he was just so incredibly kind. He covered my drink (which was delicious! Try the strawberry acai refresher!) and was just so kind it totally turned my day around. Everyone was just so nice and the store was clean and just made my sucky day not so bad. Go pay them a visit because they are awesome. Kudos to y'all for making a weird puffy faced girl's day. This Starbucks is not my favorite in Charlottesville. I tend to avoid it because people are too lazy to use the crosswalk and just walk out into the road at will, making that parking lot a disaster. There is a Starbucks in Target, not even a two minute drive away so I prefer to go there instead. read more

This Starbucks location is probably the best Starbucks I've ever visited. The second time I visited, the manager remembered my name. I know it sounds cheesy, but it made me feel kind of special. Kind of like Cheers "where everybody knows your name." The consistency of drinks and friendly customer service is unparalleled by any other Starbucks location I've visited. So - why did I dock a star? Because I can't go there anymore due to their lack of mitigation when it comes to requiring customers to wear masks. Without going on a long, windy road where I digress about the pandemic, I will simply say that it didn't feel safe in there to me. I will continue to support Starbucks by visiting locations that have drive-thrus. The minute that the Hollymead Starbucks requires masks for all people inside the building - I'll go back to the store *and* upgrade my review to 5 stars! I hope this review doesn't sound like an upbraiding of this location; it most certainly is not. It's more of a "heads up" for other potential customers who may be feeling gun-shy (for any myriad of reasons) about going into businesses without mask requirements. This is a wonderful Starbucks location that is friendly and welcoming. It is quite spacious, plenty of seating, and a large variety of products for sale. It boasts everything one has come to expect from the chain. The line moved extremely quickly and our drinks came out perfect, it couldn't have been more than 5 minutes. The associate behind the counter apologized for the wait and I did not acknowledge that apology. That was rude of me and it bothered me all day! So sorry to the staff yesterday morning! Now, I have been to almost every SBUX in Cville - and this is a pretty solid performer =) On the corner end of the Hollymead Town Center, this location is pretty convenient - I pass by it on my way to work and since its next to Harris Teeter, it's always abuzz with activity. All the baristas that I have encountered at this location have been cordial and I do appreciate the extra space here, as compared to the one across from the mall. Only downside - wish they had thought of adding/configuring a drive thru! read more

Up until today I had always had great service at this Starbucks. On December 6 I ordered 3 pounds of espresso using the app. Apparently espresso regular roast was out of stock this is happened before and they have just cancel the order and not charged my card. This time they charged my card and when they canceled the order they didn't refund my money! That's $40 in change not refunded. I went there today and asked about it. The manager on duty made it all my fault because I didn't ask for a refund! Keep in mind they didn't fill the order and told me that when I went to pick it up. So basically they charge me for 3 pounds of coffee they didn't have and then kept my money and didn't refund it until I asked for it and made it my fault because I didn't ask for a refund for something they never provided. For the record this is not the first time these coffee beans have not been in stock it is however the first time I was charged for something that was not in stock. read more

This location has a habit of making coffee that has a burnt taste. I am not sure it is the milk they are scolding, the espresso bean being old, or maybe the espresso machine not being cleaned properly, either way this location keeps giving me burnt tasting coffee. :( read more

The staff is very friendly and the location is very neat and presented well. However the baristas working there today 5/10/2017 were goofing around and I over heard one say "you didn't tell me this one was with soy"?! I know the girl ahead of me ordered the drink I did so I assumed something was wrong with hers. Next time though I won't assume because I ordered my drink with soy and got very sick after having my drink. I can only assume there was regular milk in my drink because soy has never made me sick to my stomach. Once again very friendly staff but you shouldn't be joking around when you are handling someone's food or drinks. read more

Starbucks is nice usually but this Starbucks tends to run out of supplies very fast. No bagels. No breakfast food. If you are looking for somewhere else I suggest somewhere else to come here for breakfast. They also don't cal your name for your coffees. read more

This clean, always well run Starbucks at Hollymead Town Center is one friendly place to stop and find refreshment. When ever I have to travel Route 29 to visit family, I always make it a point to stop here, relax and catch my breath. What a cozy, harm, if not a bit smaller than other Starbucks locations. But what it lacks in size ,it makes up in charm.They always make the best Flat White I ever had.
