Hi everyone. Gonna start by saying I love Starbucks for the most part. Most are very warm and welcoming and make you feel like a person. I've been a customer of the same Starbucks for a couple years now . occasionally I'll be in a new area and will stop in at the nearest Starbucks just to get a feel for the store sometimes I'll have a frappe and sit and draw or color and maybe meet new people . I am a nice person and try being friendly. I recently became disabled and as result became homeless and live in my Acura. Awaiting disability I am on a fixed income of 200$ a month and do my best to try making that stretch for1 month.. that said there are times I cannot afford a drink,so will request a ice water and sit and color or socialize charge phone never cause any drama always willing to help if I can and it's a nice experience. Today its snowing and 19degrees i came by the store at n union and briargate across from memorial hospital UC health north facility. It's the end of the month and u can prolly guess I have no money ,no gas no heat no food no nothing but a kind demeanor and wish to pull into a Starbucks and chill and charge phone and color for a lil bit . Mind you I do not appear to be homeless I am clean body and clothes and most can not tell by looking at me .. so at this location as soon As I walk in the staff didn't greet me so I greet them and receive a very snooty look from all ,I address the it/them/they and it says she be right with you . I said I'm easy may i just get a cup of ice water as it/they/them was just standing there and it said she will be right with you and this old lady is overwhelmed by the order of a customer and hurrys to slide the one item into a sleeve and waddle over to the counter to call out Christine !!she comes back over and says what csn I get you and I said may i have a ice water please? And she says no if you buy something you can have a ice water. And smiled at me in a condescending manner . I was shocked and insulted . I've never experienced a Starbucks that was full of so many snotty employees who profiled me or charged for ice water . It made me feel totally unwelcome and insulted . I don't recommend this store. Starbucks drinks are made with the energy created by the barista which makes em taste better imo so for best results and best overall experience fo not go to n. Union and briargate Starbucks the energy is insincere,and snotty,I'm sure the quality of beverage or food tastes of that kinda energy too..Go down the road bout 2 miles and have a fantastic delicious beverage or food item at Flintridge and academy,from someone who actually isn't a snotty phony .You'll notice right away you're treated like a friend and even if it's water you'll taste how much better everything is than at n. Union and briargate you'll feel welcome and invited and like a person even if u order water,as long as you don't go to n. Union and briargate Starbucks.Practically Any other Starbucks in the Colorado springs area will be a better bet. If at hospital and want Starbucks i suggest the Starbucks right inside king soopers in same parking lot. Or simply go inside kings and get sumn else you can make at hospital. This place seems to be a busy but well organized place, but rarely is there a long line. Before the renovations, this was one of my favorite spots to take my daughters to break free from stress at home and relax for an hour. It was genuinely therapeutic. The new renovations are a deliberate effort by corporate to make what used to be a social dive into a desolate pay and leave locale. Let me explain. It used to be that around 9AM on a Saturday or a Sunday, I could count 20 patrons in the café. For the past few weeks I could only count 3 to 4. Starbucks used to be a busy, happening place weekend mornings. Now it's desolate. After the renovations, the local Starbucks is barren. Just two or three people sit around that huge space. It's too sterile and uninviting - It's an artificial show room that nobody wants to hang out at. Floors and walls are dark and foreboding. They used to have two plush chairs that sat next to each other in a corner and a couch off to the side. They used to have long tables that invited more than two people to sit and work and chat and interact. Now all those tables have been removed. The couch and chairs have been replaced with wide, spacious chairs that no longer nestle up to each other. In a word, the new renovation built ISOLATION. If their intent was to make people want to get in and out and to no longer use this location as a hub for community, they hit the nail on the head. It feels uninviting, unwelcoming, and uncomfortable. Even the human elements in the paintings that hung on the wall are gone. I feel bad for those who work there. With it feeling humanly-cold - like Scrooge-cold, I bet their tips have dropped dramatically from when the place made you feel warm and generous. Other Starbucks locations in town that haven't undergone the cold-black renovation and still have their long tables and warm lighting and floors are bustling with people. I left the location off east Dublin with 14 people seated and five people in line and went straight to the North Union location where I was the only customer. It's sad that Starbucks felt the need to break up the community concept that they founded their business vision on nearly fifty years ago. read more

As far as Starbucks go, this one is very good. It is generally busy because it's in a prime location, but I've never had a problem snagging a seat at the high bar with mountain views out the window. With the weather getting nicer, a lot more people will be making their way outside onto the patio to enjoy their beverages. Protip: If you don't already know, Starbucks has an app for your smartphone and a very good loyalty program that you should consider taking advantage of. In a little under a month, I earned green status which entitles me to free refills on coffee/iced coffee/tea in-store for the year. Pretty awesome for those days when I really need to get stuff done and spend a few hours there. read more

This is always my goto hangout and meeting place. Conveniently located a half mile from my house, it always provides all I need. The service is great, depending on whi is working. In this are i can give an 80/20 split. 80% great, 20% poor. Not too bad for a high turnover establishment! I do recommend if you need to meet up, hook up, or just hang out and do work. I stop in a few times a week in the morning before going to the office. I love the Chocolate Banana or Mango Smoothie. I actually don't drink coffee but I love the smoothies. I also like to pickup a Traveler for our morning meetings. It comes with everything you need and it is a change from our normal coffee/snack bar. Everyone likes it. This store is the reason I like starbucks. I am always surprised when I have a mediocre or strange experience at a different starbucks location. The baristas and staff at this starbucks are the best. If I'm going to get coffee out, I drive past 2 other stores because this is absolutely the #1 starbucks I've been to (and I've been to stores on 3 continents). The store is open and light, and the view is incredible and inspiring. The patio seating is a favorite of mine. It is refreshing to see a store in colorado take advantage of the view (shame on the shops at briargate shopping center). If you don't like people I would advise not going to this store. it is a community watering hole with teens, adults, and everywhere in between coming in and out and can be busy at times. Even though I don't live as close anymore, and don't spend as much time there, there are still barista who greet me by name when I come in, and I love that. read more

I love the hustle and bustle of this location! There are so many people clicking away at their laptops, chatting, and walking in and out. This Starbucks has declined over the years to completely incompetent . 99% of the time my wife gets an order here and they always forget to put whip cream in. Have had major coffee grounds in coffee. At almost $5 a beverage you would think you could at least get what you ordered and quality coffee. Stay away this place sucks. If they are busy the worse they get. If you must go.
