Nice coffee shop in one of the rooms of a "reclaimed" elementary school, with each of the old classrooms being a different business and the hallway housing overflow tables for dining at. FOOD: We got a couple of chai lattes which were okay, if a bit on the sweet side. My wife got an interesting ham-apple-berry-brie bagle sandwich (messy but tasty); I got a breakfast burrito (more of a breakfast panini) (huge, overly-cheesy, but tasty). SERVICE: In the face of a lot of business (it was 11 am, there was a line at the counter the entire time we were there, plus all the tables in the shop were full, as were several more in the hallway), the service was very friendly and fairly efficient. Drinks were ready in a reasonable time. There was a bobble with the sandwich order (drinks are picked up at the counter by name; foodstuff you get a table number marker and is delivered to you), but they recovered very graciously. Since the food was scratch-made, it looks, it was in a reasonable time frame. ATMOSPHERE: Very crowded, pretty noisy, rather spare and worn environment -- arguably all signs of how successful they've been. Saw lots of open laptops at tables -- I suspect a lot of folk enjoy the free wi-fi and good eats and drinks. The parking lot was ... very full, except for the several Tesla chargers, only one of which was in use (we still had a good charge so we didn't make use of them). NET-NET: It was a great place for coffee and a bite on our way north out of the downtown where we didn't have to worry (as much) about parking. The Tesla charger is right in the same area. This is a great spot to chill and get some good coffee. I decided to get a matcha latte since it was late in the day. The barista crafted it very pretty and it tasted very good. Lots of seating and wifi is strong. I saw a lot of people working on their laptops. The seating is all harder surface so I can imagine your bootie feeling it if you stay here for a while but it's still comfortable enough. While in town visiting friends, they kept saying we had to get to this coffee shop. She is a bonafide coffee-holic and so am I. Once we stepped in the aroma was heavenly. The staff were extremely welcoming, maybe in part because our friend is a regular. First I ordered a latte. The presentation was lovely and it was a gentle smooth treat. Next up was an Americano. It was strong and also somehow smooth- not bitter at all. Compared to many others I've tried, this coffee shop is superior. Part of the charm is it's one of many different businesses on a long hallway. The hallway is lined with tables and chairs. Ever just have "one of those days?" I suppose we all do, including those who work with school children. During my visit to "Building 3 Coffee" I noticed a picture opportunity that I believe qualifies for the 2023 Henry's Take Honor Roll. You see, they are located within a building that was for more than 60 years the home of Lincoln Elementary School, which makes the "BEER" sign placed right outside the Staff Lounge undeniably hilarious! Can you imagine if the faculty had the option of enjoying "a cold one" during a particularly challenging day? Rather than the hallways being filled with energetic children excitedly scuttling from one location to another, now each former classroom is occupied by various businesses including this one. While you can no longer hear children's voices filling these spaces, you can enjoy their seemingly limitless energy and spirit when you visit. The ambience it's more towards out of state people. They do not have sugar free options. I need sugar free as I am a diabetic. I asked for an espresso made with oat milk and vanilla syrup. They do not show on the menu that you will be getting an espresso shot. No complaints since the shot was well balanced. The barista was thrown off once I asked her to make it as a coffee on a to go cup with oat milk and vanilla syrup. My wife had a macchiato and was disappointed. They don't make it the way you want it. They go strictly by their menu. She asked me if I wanted a cortado which at that point a cortado is made strictly with Cuban coffee and I have tried true cortado's before. So I denied that request as it's not going to taste the same. Just for that I gave two stars since the way we were treated was like we weren't welcomed. We will not come back. read more

Been here a couple of times and I have enjoyed both times. They are always super busy in that place, which shows they offer good products. Some people go to work there since they have a good amount of seating and the coffee is good. If you're not into whole milk, they have alternative milks. So this whole little mall is a find and if not for the cold temps, it would have been nice to sit outside. I love Building Three for various reasons. Let me count the ways. 1. I love their space. Conveniently located in Old North End, with free parking and easy access, this place makes it easy for me to visit with my babygirl. I love the decoration, the openness of the space and the cleanliness. 2. I love their costumer service. Always greeted with a smile, I have never had poor service here. The staff is friendly, accommodating and always willing to help! 3. Their baked goods are what this girls dreams are made up of. 4. Their coffee isnt my favorite thing about this place, but I love their Vanilla Latte. Not that their coffee isnt great - I have a lot of coffee snob friends who absolutely adore their coffee, its more a I have poor taste when it comes to coffee. My husband and I joke around that we love a little gas station flavor to our coffee... what can I say? So, I wanted to love this place but it's just not working for me. First, we're in a pandemic and clearly they are not. Tables are all right next to each other and the place is completely packed. I ordered 2 coffees to go, one decaf and one regular. She brought them out to me and neither were marked in any way. She simply held one up and said, this is the decaf. Since I took them to go I had no way to mark them myself and no way to tell the difference and for all I know neither could have been decaf. With my order I had a raspberry pastry and thought it may be something more than 2 raspberries cooked into a sugar loaded pound cake :( ...nope.
