The staff is usually friendly and the coffee is always good. Being in Gaslight Villiage makes this a great location. We do avoid it early in the day as is gets so busy and the lines are long even on the weekends. It is nice to pick up a coffee and then go down to Reeds Lake. read more

Within walking distance from my home, so I'm here frequently. The staff is quick, friendly, and helpful, and the beverages and baked goods are always made just right and piping hot. They handle mobile orders very well and always have them done lickety-split. Parking is easy, with a small lot in back and easily available street parking. But being next door to EGR high school, this location could stand to double or triple in size. Occasionally, I'll walk over with my laptop hoping to get a change of scenery for work and every single seat is taken. This has happened on weekdays and weekends, especially Sundays. Great for this Starbucks' bottom line, not for me :-) There are just four tables for two, two tables for four, four comfy armchairs in front of the window -- so great for just hanging out and reading -- and a counter with 4-5 chairs. Then a semi-awkward large table with seating for 10. I think it's the most efficient way seating can be arranged in this space, but again, not ideal for the single worker. read more

Small, tucked away Starbucks in East GR but oh so convenient for those nearby to pre-order then pick up on the go. This location offers additional parking in the back of the building with a rear entrance. Small, so expect it to be loud when busy. I've sat here one time to work at 2:30 on a weekday and it was cramped and loud. Those who are more productive with noise and lots of action, this is your daytime place. Don't walk-in and expect to get a coffee within any reasonable amount of time. Pre-order online? Yes. I walked in yesterday (Sunday afternoon) and there weren't any customers inside. 4 employees behind the counter. Took 15 min to get a Frappuccino and tall black coffee because only one employee was making coffees. The other one was polishing syrup bottles the whole time I was there, the other two wiping down ovens. The person who was making drinks looked new because she asked for instructions on how to make my Frappuccino and the other employee told her (with a visible attitude) instead of showing her. Poor girl made so many online orders before she even got mine. Why was no one helping her? Weird place would not come back unless I ordered online like all these other customers who clearly knew better... read more

I've been to countless Starbucks shops around the country, and this is the one I love the most. The shop itself is quite small, but it's extremely warm and inviting. The staff remember your name - and, most importantly, your drink of choice. On more than one occassion, I have had staff "accidentally" heat up too much milk and have to upgrade my drink free of charge. Were these simply "happy accidents" or were these disguised rewards for a loyal customer? I'll let you be the judge on that one... read more

This Starbucks was a like a beacon of light! To an out-of-towner it's rather amazing how little is open in GR on Sundays...particularly in a great area such as the Gas Light District. God bless the American chain coffee shop and good ol' American consumerism, because this Starbucks was just in the right place at the right time for me. I ran in, got a perfectly lightly sweetened green iced tea for myself and an iced coffee for my sis, and all was right with the world! read more

This is yet another starbuks. Everytime I have been there the staff has been nice. Plus, this is in a great area of town to get a cup and take a walk or something. If you you hang out here for any length of time you will most likely have to deal with the rich kids in the area who think they are demi-gods. read more

I never give ratings this low however I stopped going here after a girl wanted to argue and charge me MORE for getting less than the 6 pumps it comes with?! Seriously think about that...does that even make even slight bit of sense? She was condescending and rude and I was told specifically how to order it and what to say if they had questions or didn't understand BY MANAGMENT AT 3 SEPARATE STORES and she still insisted on charging me 60 EXTRA cents for getting 3 less pumps! Won't be back and that sucks for them as I'm a gold member who comes in at least 3 or 4 times a day and I tip everytime! Smh read more

Visiting Grand Rapids, from the state of Washington near Seattle (Starbucks land). We were enjoying a nice walk in the town where this Starbucks is located on a nice cool fall afternoon. After seeing the familiar logo, a nice hot Americano sounded great. We went in and ordered a tall Americano and mentioned we were from the Seattle area and were excited to see the Starbucks here. The barista being totally unenthusiastic took the order and then appeared to forget about making the order and started washing dishes then after a minute went to the drip coffee machine and drew a cup of coffee and gave it to us and said "an Americano from Grand Rapids" with a smirk on her face. Even as a drip coffee it tasted totally washed out. What a shame and a disappointment. If this is your normal practice at this location you ought to be ashamed of yourself...fix it! It's a shame that Starbucks even went to automated espresso machines which totally takes the artistry away from which in it was once founded on. If anybody comes into this Starbucks and wants a nice Americano I would look down the street I believe I saw another coffee shop down there,they would probably be willing to make a good Americano for you unless Starbucks decides to fix the problem I would go to the other place. read more

Wow ,I will give 2 stars because the staff was friendly. I guess living in Mexico really did spoil me, I now know what real good coffee taste like, I dont blame starbucks for their subpar coffee, I blame myself for going back to this place. However Gaslight area is unique. The restroom was trashed I thought a bomb went off. I was also not pleased the cashier put my change in the tip box, I had to fish it out. Floor was dirty and not sure how fresh my cold green tea was. It tasted off compared to others I've had. Sorry starbucks, clean it up. read more
