Um. It's 7:32pm and the chairs are flipped up on tables and the entire floor is being mopped. As I was passing by, I thought they were closed until I saw someone going through the drive through. I checked the door...open. They close at 9 pm. NINE PEE EMM!!! I waited to be acknowledged while rocking from side to side hooding to order before going to the potty to no avail. As I was leaving the loo, I heard the door open and someone ask, "are you still open?" EXACTLY!! 17 minutes after I drove away and returned to fine them open, I walked on their still wet and freshly mopped floors and out the door with two nicely made drinks. Redeemed? Kinda. read more

I stopped by this Starbucks while traveling through and I must say I was impressed with the staff. All of the baristas were extremely friendly and I was greeted upon walking into the cafe. There had to be at least 15 other customers in the store and even with the amount of orders and chaos going on in the lobby the staff was able to keep up with the pace and provide superior customer service. There was one barista there, Justin, who went above and beyond. They made sure to make each customer feel special by speaking to them directly as they handed them their orders. The cafe was clean and the drinks were made perfectly. Thank you to everyone at this location for making a brief pit stop on a long road trip memorable! read more

Stopped by here for a rest during our drive to Charlotte. This place is your typical Starbucks except not super busy midday (visited on a Thursday around lunchtime). This location is conveniently off the highway and accessible with a traffic light to cross traffic if you need to. The restroom is clean. The staff is friendly. The interior space is clean and I appreciated the seating near the pick up area. Ordered a white chocolate mocha and a peppermint mocha both with almond milk. The barista was kind to confirm we did not want whipped cream. We would definitely stop by here again. read more

While we were getting our coffees on a road trip from Myrtle Beach we stopped at this Starbucks and the staff was nice and courteous. However, what really caught our attention was an employee with Pink hair who was cleaning. She was so thorough scrubbing the floors that we asked if she could come home with us. We had gone to the restrooms at the Burger King across the street and they were absolutely disgusting. We were so pleased with the cleanliness, care, and overall customer service of the two employees we had the pleasure of speaking with. Highly recommend this location! And they should definitely give the lady with pink hair a raise! read more

I have patronized Starbucks on every continent they have a location on. In all those visits, I think I have written 2 reviews - this being the second one. Why? Glad you asked! Uncommonly kind baristas! During the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, it's easy to forget about the people who make that possible - like the SB baristas who keep us warm and caffeinated. Often times, we only realize their importance when there is an issue preventing us from getting our much-needed holiday 'go-juice'. What's worse, we often take out our frustration on said baristas, even when it's outside their control, like a broken espresso machine. However, what sets the Starbucks in Emporia apart from others are the baristas. Despite a staggering amount of orders, limited equipment, and stressed out customers - the baristas try to accommodate every request and provide helpful suggestions if they can't provide you with your favorite beverage. Moreover, they do this all with the warmest of smiles and exemplar holiday cheer. I would be remiss if I didn't single out three truly graceful women who embody this - Omi, Shona, and Jen. Even before I received my triple mocha, I was warmed by their smiles and laughs as I tried to figure out what I wanted to order! I hope Starbucks recognizes these exceptional baristas because they are what make a cup of coffee worthwhile to purchase! So if you are lucky enough to pass through this particular Starbucks, make sure you take the time to enjoy the experience they provide! In fact, I encourage you to also take the time to write a review, as these women deserve a serious raise or at the very least a holiday bonus. If Starbucks can pay their CEO Kevin Johnson $20.4 million (who, for the record, has never cared about my Starbucks order), I'm sure they can give these ultra-deserving baristas 1% of that as a holiday bonus for all they do for us customers! read more

I was driving from Maryland and stopped to get a coffee. I spent 28 minutes in the drive through lane (which you cannot get out of due to high curbs) after placing my order. When I got my Carmel Macchiato and my banana bread, the coffee was cold and the banana bread was still frozen. Had I realized this before getting back on the interstate, I would have gone back. Never in my life have I waited for a drink as long as I have in this Starbucks. There are five people working and max 6 customers however we have been waiting 45 minutes on three drinks. No one waiting in front of me, four employees working and didn't get my order taken for some time. 5 minutes? Maybe more. Apparently they can't make drip coffee right now, but no sign. I asked and I got a hand wave behind her that "no, just whatever I can make behind me" I think referring to the pour overs but didn't say. So I order... I went to the bathroom and came back. Got my espresso drink, then my food and just waiting on the coffee. As I'm standing there for awhile they ask what I'm waiting for. The pour over. Well it's gonna be a minute longer because no one ever started it. No sorry, we will get right on it, just overheard them discussing whether so and so pulled the ticket and if the tickets were even working. Basically no customer service, and lackluster actual service... wouldn't recommend. Food is good. But I mean, it's just reheated sandwiches so, can't use that as a marker. Literally the worst customer service skills I've ever seen and heard. I've been to the Starbucks now three times in the past four months and nothing has changed... The employees are always rude, the bathroom seems to always run out of toilet paper, and the Starbucks lacks most of the items that are on the menu. Not to mention I waited at a drive-through for a good 15 minutes before someone actually acknowledged that I was at the drive-through... I literally typed this review while waiting in the drive thru line. I've been sitting in the drive thru line for over 30 minutes and there's still 3 cars ahead of me. The line wasn't even long when we first go here. There is no order ahead service and you cannot exit the line due to the height of the curbs.
