The build your own sandwich here is such a great way to start your day because it includes all your favorite options. I have the bacon, egg and cheese bagel and it was toasted with plenty of bacon and warm cheese. The cold brew is strong and the latte was very coffee forward so if you like a sweeter coffee like me an extra pump of flavor is a great idea! The service was great, all the employees are very helpful and more than welcome to give recommendations. The shop itself is a great place to sit and chat or work on your computer.

    Amazing delicious orange mocha

I love this coffee shop so much & have to visit every time I'm in Petersburg. We visited the area back in December & I just had to try to Orange Mocha. So darn good!! The coffee shop has a great vibe & atmosphere, with plenty of seating.

Just visiting from SD, California where the coffee shops are such a big competition. Cons: My croissant was a little too toasty for me. Sausage and egg were a tad too cooked for me. Not a huge fan. Prob will never eat anymore of their food items. Pros: Staff was sweet Decor was hip Plenty of seating Latte was delightful Ample parking across the way.

On a cool day in Petersburg why not warm up with a little something warm. I choose. Dirty Banana drink and banana nut muffin. So let me go back to plenty of parking. As you enter inside be aware of the stately dressed man to your left, pay your respects and proceed on. I wasted no time as I consumed my delicious drink. I loved that the banana came dirty and wasn't hidden by the other ingredients. So I chose to sit outside and enjoy the air and serenity I noticed the bulletin board of businesses and other helpful information. I was amazed at my banana nut muffin was flavorful and fresh. This coffee spot is family, date & business friendly. Also if you can't unplug from your electronic devices it is internal friendly.

Was really wanting a bagel but being new to the area wasn't sure where to go. We didn't want to go too far from colonial heights so I debated between all the nearby places. There's lots of parking close and the place has a cool look to it. The inside was on the smaller side but there was still a good amount of seating and looked to be a lot of outdoor seating for the warmer months. I got a Bacon egg and cheese with their scallion cream cheese and my husband got the bacon egg and cheese on a croissant. We also decided to get coffees. I'm sooo glad we got coffees because they were amazing! We both got iced eggnog lattes and loved them. I wasn't a huge fan of my sandwich. The bagel itself was alright although a different texture than I'm used to. I'm not a big fan of sheet pan eggs but the bacon was great. I also LOVED the cream cheese! The croissant looked better. The service was unremarkable. Not bad just very to the point and unmemorable. I'd definitely go back and try something else food wise and definitely get more coffee!

Service was great! Super cute place! Food was kind of bland and the cold brew was watered down.

I absolutely have to get coffee here every time I'm in Petersburg!! I came to town with my sister over the weekend to take on some history & of course, I had to take her to the amazing coffee shop! I had a black sesame mocha, hot, with oat milk!! So delicious!! My sister had an iced caramel latte. The service was good & we loved the vibe of the coffee shop. Plenty of places do sit & relax. They have an amazing patio that we will check out next time.

    Processed tasting egg--awful
    Gigi G.

I so wanted to give them 5-stars, I just couldn't do it. Two lattes... one plain, one with what was supposed to be a little white chocolate, but was so cloyingly sweet I couldn't finish it. I ordered an egg and muffin, my husband had a bagel with cream cheese (they informed us after they served it, that there was no butter/margarine) and a cinnamon roll. Egg tasted processed and microwaved to death, although they assured me that they are fresh cracked. Muffin too, was overly sweet. Husband said bagel was dry, cinnamon roll was meh, and coffee was fair, not great. The atmosphere however is wonderful, which is sad, since the coffee and food are not. Probably will not return. Disappointing.

Great coffee and pastries in a classic 1800s brick building. Cool location. Coffee selection excellent, lattes, etc. Service was quick and friendly. A very short distance from I-95 - worth the detour. Ample parking across the street.

The no dairy (dark chocolate!) hot cocoa is the BOMB!! Be sure to specify oat milk, too. Not very crowded, @ 9AM. Eclectic decor; parking lot across the street. Unfortunately out of oatmeal.

Hidden Gem in the middle of Virginia. Traveling for school and was looking for a spot to hangout that didn't feel like I was in the middle of nowhere, I found it. Great coffee, awesome food, cool atmosphere.

    Iced coconut cardamom latte

I am obsessed with this coffee shop. Granted, I've only tried one of their drinks (both iced and hot), but I adored it. If I lived closer to this spot, it would for sure be my favorite local haunt. They have a wonderful atmosphere, fantastic baristas, strong wifi, delicious seasonal drinks, and great music. It's located on Bank St and there is a free parking lot right across the street. There are plenty of seating options available and there are two gender neutral single stall bathrooms. I asked the barista for their seasonal specials and he shared a list of delicious sounding drinks. I was unsure if I should go with my signature DIY latte or one of their seasonal ones and he kindly gave me the push to try their coconut cardamom latte I was curious about. I'm so happy he did. It was divine! They accidentally made me an iced one when I wanted a hot. I said it was fine and they still were so sweet and made the hot one. Both were incredible. I came to work on my laptop like most of the people there at the time. The wifi was strong. I adored the playlist. Songs by SZA, Kali Uchis, The Neighborhood, and the like popped up. I found myself happily singing along. I highly recommend checking out this coffeeshop, even if it's out of your way. There are other wonderful bizs like Buttermilk Bake Shop nearby too.

Stopped in to get some work done after a customer appointment this morning. Had the sausage, egg and cheese croissant with a toffee latte. Everything was delicious. I love the ambience with the exposed brick. It's the quintessential coffee shop in a historic town like Petersburg.

Ask the Community - Demolition Coffee

Do they have large vegetarian selection?

Some potentially vegetarian choices, not what I'd describe as "large". You can access the standard menu via the website and decide for yourself:…

Never been to the area, but is parking on the street near it or do they have a lot behind it?

Huge parking lot right across the street.

Is there enough seating for a group of 11 at this place?

There are plenty of tables/seating inside and on the patio...However, Demolition gets super busy you may have to wait a few minutes for people to finish eating! :) It's definitely worth the wait though.

Interior (8/10) - The inside looks good but the chairs at the glass tables were a little too tight for me so I decided to sit at the bar which was a good choice. The chairs at the bar felt a little wobbly but I didn't mind. I sometimes drive past this place during the night and it's always packed so I guess it's best for a post work visit. Service (8/10) - The staff were extremely friendly and on top of things and it's a local restaurant so I not going to complain. Food (9/10) - and now for the main attraction, the food tastes pretty good. I had the Crab Cake Sandwich and it was seasoned and savory. My friend ordered mozzarella sticks and they were the best mozzarella sticks I've had so far, crisped and cheesy to perfection. And the crab dip was pretty decent, too creamy and juicy to my taste (No Diddy). Overall, this place doesn't come off as a place for dinner for me but it's the perfect place for Lunch. 8.5/10

The rating gave me hope but it was not as good as expected. The service was friendly and kind, we were greeted walking in and told to sit where we like so we grabbed a booth. An older building with high ceilings and heavy wood floors, a short bar and a handful of booths and tables. We started with their Fried Calamari, it was fresh and obviously not packaged but sadly was way overcooked. Tough and crewy, not good and a let down. Ordered a house side Salad very basic, iceberg lettuce with two tomato wedges and a couple slices of cucumbers. It was okay but kind of sad. Pizza undercooked? Like seriously raw veggies on our pie. We ordered a build your own with simole ingredients, mushrooms (canned not fresh), black olives and artichoke hearts. The pizza was okay but the vegetables were not cooked? It tasted like a raw pie, we each ate a piece and boxed the rest. It was actually better the next day when it was reheated in the oven, but still threw almost half of it away. With all the high mark reviews I was expecting a much better meal. It was a let down. 3 Stars - kind wait staff, mediocre food. Served its purpose but would most likely not repeat 01246
