This is my regular coffee shop and I love it here! The staff is incredible and so is the building! It's located right in downtown and has LOTS of parking. I got their new sandwich, the blackbird! It is SO GOOD! Everything on it is sooo crunchy and fresh from the pickled onions to the arugula. It has a blackberry honey mustard that I absolutely fiend over and they make it in house! I also got a white chocolate lavender matcha and it's delicious as well. Demolition has the best quality matcha in the area for sure! They also have a pretty large patio for a good time in the sun. I have the bacon, egg and cheese bagel and it was toasted with plenty of bacon and warm cheese. The cold brew is strong and the latte was very coffee forward so if you like a sweeter coffee like me an extra pump of flavor is a great idea! Was really wanting a bagel but being new to the area wasn't sure where to go. We didn't want to go too far from colonial heights so I debated between all the nearby places. There's lots of parking close and the place has a cool look to it. The inside was on the smaller side but there was still a good amount of seating and looked to be a lot of outdoor seating for the warmer months. I got a Bacon egg and cheese with their scallion cream cheese and my husband got the bacon egg and cheese on a croissant. We also decided to get coffees. I'm sooo glad we got coffees because they were amazing! We both got iced eggnog lattes and loved them. I wasn't a huge fan of my sandwich. The bagel itself was alright although a different texture than I'm used to. I'm not a big fan of sheet pan eggs but the bacon was great. I also LOVED the cream cheese! The croissant looked better. I so wanted to give them 5-stars, I just couldn't do it. Two lattes... one plain, one with what was supposed to be a little white chocolate, but was so cloyingly sweet I couldn't finish it. I ordered an egg and muffin, my husband had a bagel with cream cheese (they informed us after they served it, that there was no butter/margarine) and a cinnamon roll. Egg tasted processed and microwaved to death, although they assured me that they are fresh cracked. Muffin too, was overly sweet. Husband said bagel was dry, cinnamon roll was meh, and coffee was fair, not great. The atmosphere however is wonderful, which is sad, since the coffee and food are not. Probably will not return. I am obsessed with this coffee shop. Granted, I've only tried one of their drinks (both iced and hot), but I adored it. If I lived closer to this spot, it would for sure be my favorite local haunt. They have a wonderful atmosphere, fantastic baristas, strong wifi, delicious seasonal drinks, and great music. It's located on Bank St and there is a free parking lot right across the street. There are plenty of seating options available and there are two gender neutral single stall bathrooms. I asked the barista for their seasonal specials and he shared a list of delicious sounding drinks. I was unsure if I should go with my signature DIY latte or one of their seasonal ones and he kindly gave me the push to try their coconut cardamom latte I was curious about. I'm so happy he did. It was divine! They accidentally made me an iced one when I wanted a hot. I said it was fine and they still were so sweet and made the hot one. Both were incredible. I came to work on my laptop like most of the people there at the time. The wifi was strong. I adored the playlist. Songs by SZA, Kali Uchis, The Neighborhood, and the like popped up. This coffee shop is a hidden gem in Petersburg. It's tucked away in this town where it looks like nothing is going on, just a bunch of auto mechanic place and such. First, the ambiance inside is so nice and cozy, the interior is very thoughtful. The service is good. Love that they offer the option for ceramic mugs instead of the Togo if dining in. Had the white chocolate cranberry latte, it was pretty good. Didn't really taste the cranberry, I taste the white chocolate a little bit and then it has some pepper on top. My friends and I stopped by for some much needed girl time and caffeine. I ordered the dirty chai, because I love chai and didn't think about the fact that I was at a coffee house and probably should have ordered the coffee. The dirty chai tasted wonderful and I loved the spices, though I do now have to go back and try some actual coffee. I also ordered a bagel breakfast sandwich and wow, it was tasty! The everything bagel was delicious, it was a perfect texture, perfectly toasted. It was delightful. My friend and I ordered a blueberry muffin and a harvest muffin to split since we couldn't decide which sounded better. They were both wonderful. I had to go back and order two more of each to take home for hubs and my kids. My kids devoured the blueberry muffins, which I expected, but I was SHOCKED when they also ate the harvest muffin with shredded veggies and raisins or whatever else it had. The super helpful gentleman at the counter even said that they bake them fresh daily, so that is also a plus. We will definitely be back. read more

We stumbled upon this place as we were actually looking for donuts. I got a peppermint white mocha both times I've been, and I can say I prefer it iced. The first time left such a great impression on me, I knew I had to stop back again when I knew I was going to be in the area. Unfortunately the second time was just mediocre. I didn't feel welcomed inside and my coffee was just okay. It was not stirred either (hot) so that was very disappointing. All the syrup was at the bottom and the last few sips shocked me at the sweetness overload. Superb coffee in the heart of downtown Petersburg - a city that is on the up and up. I visited here in late October 2022 as part of a business trip. If you're driving nearly on I-95, this is a lovely spot for a bit of caffeine. You can ignore the bombed out building (part of the old reputation of Petersburg), and drive by the Petersburg YMCA (gorgeous new building) on your way to Demolition Coffee - in a lovingly restored section of downtown. Parking is a little tricky - you can go to the lot that is catty-corner to the store front. I just ordered a regular cup of coffee with 2% milk, but they have fancy drinks with espresso as well. The interior is cute and has a welcoming vibe. The exterior is graced by a bench and mannequin statue wearing a "Petersburg vs. Everybody" sweatshirt (which is available for sale). This motto reflects the community's spirit of resilience. After grabbing a cup of coffee, consider a visit to the Petersburg Public Library (if it's open) to see local artwork. The only blemish of Demolition Coffee is the counter service can be very slow if it's crowded or if a few customers in front of you have ordered fancy time-intensive drinks. Visited on a Thursday early afternoon a little less than an hour before close and it was a great initial experience! The staff was very friendly and the shop was a large, quiet space. There is a large outdoor patio with tables and chairs attached to the building which was perfect to sit and enjoy with our dogs, and there is a large parking lot across the street. Ordered two oatmilk lattes - one regular and one with Hazelnut flavor - and both were delicious! Also ordered two muffins - banana nut and blueberry - which they warmed for us and they were SO good! I was actually so sad I didn't also try the pistachio but I will absolutely be back. Overall, this is gem for sure and absolutely worth at least one visit.
