My sister and I went here today. My sister, who is a vegan, because of dietary restrictions, ordered a drink and ask for soy milk at the drive through. As we pulled up to the window, my sister ask the barista twice if it was soy milk, she assured my sister it was (in a rude manner I may add) and hurried us out of the theoretical door. When my sister sipped it her vegan senses went into action and she though it wasn't soy, she took another sip and just to be safe she dumped it out. Now, Two sips and 7 hours later, she is still throwing up because she ingested dairy products. This Starbucks sucks! This is a pretty nice and large Starbucks location located near Six Flags. The staff was relatively friendly and quick. The line for the drive-thru was long so we went inside. They made our double espressos the way we liked them. No issues. I would stop by here again if in the area. read more

This location offers the standard Starbucks fare of over-roasted beans, semi-stale sandwiches, and overpriced frozen concoctions. Interestingly this location is housed in a former Wendy's hamburger building so the lay-out is a bit odd. Overall, I believe most folks pay for Starbucks coffee so they can be part of the "cool kid club" and feel affluent. If I need a cup of joe on the go, I would much rather have a tasty cup of Dunkin Donuts coffee down the street----half the cost and all the pretentiousness is left at the door! read more

Very slow drive through. Also, I've been coming here nearly every work day for 3 years and this location has never wowed me with any service interaction. They have never asked my name, and they still mess up my drink order now and then. Giving them credit though for fixing those crazy potholes they had leftover from the polar vortex. read more

This Starbucks makes great tasting drinks. The wait is never long, even when they are busy. The store is clean. The manager Megan is very nice. There is outside seating also, with some nice trees that keep it from seeming too much like a busy street corner. read more

I'm sorry but this is seriously the slooowest starbucks I have ever been to! It doesn't matter what time of day it is, their drive-thru is ridiculously slow. I was just there on Monday, there was no one in the drive-thru line so I thought yes, this will be quick! Nope, wrong.. still 9 minutes to get my drink. I don't know where it fell apart but before I knew it the drive thru line behind me was around the building as usual. i know they're on a busy intersection but they definitely have to get a better flow system. this is insane...The only reason I go to this one - because it is conveniently located by the entrance to the tollway. read more

The worst service I've ever experienced at a Starbucks. I wish Howard Schultz would visit this location to see the terrible service. I've even written to corporate to complain about the long lines inside and outside. I understand that it might be due to the location for the slow service and long lines. If Starbucks only knew how much business they lose at this location because of the slow service, customers walk out while waiting in the long lines inside and pull out of the drive-thru because of the long wait. Please hire more staff or place another Starbucks centrally in Gurnee outside the mall. Staff are friendly to customers at this location, but something must be going on internally for coffee orders to take so long. read more

Here's a little business tip for this particular location - seeing as how you're the only Starbucks in Gurnee on Grand Ave with a drive-thru, and the fact that you are RIGHT next to the interstate, you should probably have a better stock of your breakfast items. I'm a complete and total fan of the bacon gouda breakfast sandwich but seriously almost every other time I go there for it, I'm told that they are out of that item. And it's not like I'm going there mid-morning or at the end of the breakfast rush...I'm there between 7:30 to 8:00 a.m. The manager needs to seriously rethink the ordering strategies going forward. This is a frozen item that can be used the next day, so PLEASE order more. On numerous occasions, I've driven away from the drive thru without even placing an order because they were out of that sandwich, and I've talked to other co-workers who also love that sandwich and have had similar experiences at this particular location.
