this place is always my go-to when i'm in hampton. I have confidence in this place to get my order right. the employees are loud, clear and friendly when greeting and calling out orders, always in such a great morning attitude and through out the day. the drinks are made with perfection and sometimes over the top ;) these workers really know what they're doing and take pride in their work. I appreciate them writing cool notes on the cups!! the seating and areas available are a little cramped but that's not this business' fault. This is the only Starbucks in Hampton, Newport News and Williamsburg that knows how to correctly make the Iced Peach Green Tea Lemonade. There just are not enough Starbucks in Hampton! This one happens to be my favorite! It's close to work and the staff do a great job with keeping up with so many mobile and in-person orders. Although it does not have a drive-thru, I don't mind going here. I will say that it can be noisy because it's so small, and today that impacted my order because the wrong croissant was ordered, but it was a blessing because I really enjoyed it anyways! My love hate relationship with Starbucks. God I need a second job to keep my tea habit and now I've been getting shots of espresso. I needed my afternoon fix and one thing I can always count on is Starbucks being conveniently located inside of Barnes n Nobles. It's a two in one win!!! This location was very quiet and clean. I enjoyed a double shot of espresso and a lemon bar! They are just perfect. Not overly sweet but you get just the right amount of powdered sugar on your fingers. I love many of the past dries and sandwiches here. I am not a fan of the new egg bites. They just taste too spongy and processed for my liking. The lemon pound cake is to die for. I never want to share when I get it. I opted for the lemon bar because those are rarely available. I lucked out. I have the Starbucks app that conveniently load up because you earn more perks that way and get alerts when they have a happy hour. YES! They have a coffee happy hour lol. Cute little classic Starbucks shop. Definitely the easiest Starbucks to get to in the area. I have been there 4 or 5 times and had a pretty good experience each time. When ordering in person the employees are very friendly as well as the other customers. My brother got surgery recently so he is in crutches and everyone was very friendly, customers even held the door open for him. If I could give a zero I would. I arrived on a rainy Sunday with 4 cars in the parking lot. Only a few people in the store. 3 employees. 3 people waiting at the counter and 4 ppl seated in chairs. I ordered a simple large blended drink. And moved into the standing waiting patrons. I watched multiple people pull-in , park, walk in to their drinks made on counter for them and walking out. After about 15 minutes the first person, that I saw when I first arrived, in line got their drink. Another five minutes... lots of drinks being made for take outs. 3 more minutes goes by the next person that placed an order within the store got a drink. Three more people came in and ordered at the front which added to the line. I watched two more people come into the store, go straight to the made counter and get their to go orders. This made me finally ask when was going to be made (29 minutes total time in store so far). I was told they have only one printer so there isn't a difference for the people who took the time to walk in pay and then stand in line vs the order from your phone ( even though you aren't in the store!!!!) My mind is blown that the CEO would want to run a business this way!!!! Customer service ultimate failure. Food. My drink came with a ton of whipped cream in the bottom and on Top. Very little actually blended product. SMH... caramel ribbon Frappuccino.... Don't bother ordering!!! Starbucks is such a nice treat for me to have considering they're a little on the pricy side. Their drinks are always so tasty but the missing stars mostly have to do with their customer service or lack of. This location seems to be busy whenever I go there (maybe 75% of the time) but that's not something that could be helped. What could be helped is the attitude of the people working there. They're not helpful, friendly, and not once I think have I seen the baristas smile. I understand that working customer service and being constantly busy can work someone's nerve, but even on the slow days it's still the same. The service is slow as well, even when there's barely any customers in the store. I'll continue to go because the location and parking is very convenient. I finally wrote corporate about the wait times. I usually give slack during peak hours and morning rush--but today I went in the evening. They had 2 registers open and had 2 people making drinks. That's 4 people on the clock! There's no excuse for wait times!!! From walking in the door to putting my hand on a drink, it was over 15 minutes. There were only 4 drink orders before me. I worship at the altar of Starbucks so I know in 15 minutes my hometown Starbucks can bang out 100 drinks in that time! Get it together 108. Visited this location today June 10, 2020 around 4:45ish. The young lady at the front was very rude to my daughter. She acted as if she was in a rush and spoke in a very rushed and annoyed tone. My 8 year old daughter paid for her items with cash and the young lady proceeded to put her change on the counter and then rushed off. What happened to the Starbucks uniformity and cleanliness? Also the menu is on a wall that you cannot view from the register where we ordered; poor design. Upon entering, I immediately ran to the bathroom. Hey, we were returning from a day trip and ummmmm... well anyway, after taking care of that little situation, I headed towards the register and there was only one person ahead of me. The cashier was bubbly and very friendly. My boyfriend and I ordered a cake pop for myself, and two caramel frapps for the both of us. While waiting, I noticed almost every seat was taken by my wifi family members who were busy on their laptops and tablets. However, the bar stools at the counter were all free. We waited a little more than 10 minutes for our frapps. I hadn't been in a starbucks in a while, but I can clearly remember waiting longer periods at other locations which occurred mostly in the morning. On this day, there was only one person ahead of me who ordered coffee and it was in the early evening when we placed our order. Should we have received our frapps sooner? Maybe so.... but then again, I'm no expert on exactly how long it takes to whip up a coffee and two frapps at Starbucks. read more

I'm surprised when the Peninsula Town Center (the old Coliseum Mall) opened, this place didn't jump ship to that area, I guess it was the lease or the starbucks in Target already. This place is super tiny. It feels like the width of a high school hallway, which makes things uncomfortable if you want to stay for a while. The staff was very nice, however while I was there they had to deal with a sketch guy who kept on wanting to bug the barista about the bold coffee, and kept on trying to get as close to the action as possible -- to the point where the Barista had to tell him, "Richard, you are not allowed past this point." I used to frequent this location, on a daily basis, when I worked in Yorktown (I live in Hampton). Since I started working in Ghent I rarely order my coffee from this location. This week I ordered twice from this location, using my mobile app, and both times I was very disappointed. The first order this week was on Tuesday. I was running late and ordered through the app, stopped for gas, and when I arrived I still waited for 10 minutes before I asked if they had my order yet... the barista was very nice but said they did not receive my order. I checked my app to verify the payment and order went through, but I knew it had since I was prompted to tip. Needless to say the barista made my order and I was on my way 15 minutes later than expected. Today I went in and it was busy so I wasn't upset about the 10 minute mobile order wait (total 16 mins from when I ordered to receiving)... again this put me behind schedule and so I got in my car and drove off... the cup was pretty hot so I let it cool down... when I got to work I tried it and it was really bland, but sweet... and as it cooled down even more I only tasted sweet vanilla and milk... imagine a vanilla bean warm. I pour my cup out into a glass and sure enough it was all milk and syrup. NO COFFEE. I'm not sure what has happened with this location, or if it's me having tried other locations, but I'm noticing better quality elsewhere. The hospitality is there but the quality of the product isn't what it once was. I'm editing this review to add that the "not recommended" reviews should definitely be read. I'm guessing the same girl who made my espresso less drink was the same girl who spit in someone else's drink. Fits the description. read more

Sometimes they'd suggest a few ingredient additions which is awesome. It's like you get your own drink recipe. I had my receipt with the time stamp so that was just a straight out lie, (so y'all just be okay with lying to your customers?) and they didn't even say they were gonna remake it. but I assumed they were so I waited another 10min. I grew impatient obviously, so I went into the order line (waited---more waiting---in the line) to ask about it and they said it was being remade, but it did not look like it at all. they pushed out more than 10 orders (yes, I was counting) before trying to correct their mistake with my order. some of the other customers noticed how long I was waiting and mentioned it to me and the employees. the employees obviously did not care, didn't even acknowledge what me or the other customers were saying. I waited another 10min just for the drink to come out completely wrong and they had my receipt so they had all the drink details??????? but still managed to make it wrong af. when I asked about it they said it was made correct??????????? another lie. and the whole time the employees had a bad ass attitude towards me. I was patient and polite with them. I did not make it a big deal but they had no care for me and we're very rude. This location lacks customer service. You order online and wait longer than just going in and ordering, which defeats the purpose of online ordering. They don't even try to make it right and are happy to give you your money back with no apologies for overlooking your order. There is one guy who is so slow at making drinks because he's so busy socializing with his co workers that are on break. The place is always a wreck behind the bar.
