Spacious parking lot, dual drive-thru lanes, an outdoor patio, and a large modern environment inside!

A 5-star review for a known entity like Starbucks? The "new" Starbucks location at 8880 E 96th Street opened in October 2023. The beverages and food items are the same you would expect at Starbucks anywhere. It is the new more customer-centric design of this location that makes a difference. At the former location (a strip mall parking lot away) there was no drive-thru. What a pain in the parking spot! The former location was small. For those of us who enjoy drinking their beverage al fresco, the former location didn't offer outdoor seating. Break out the rainbow, sunshine and unicorns. Cue your favorite song! All the minuses of the previous location are resolved in the modern design of the new building. The new location will also provide competition to the Panera Bread West of SBX and Dunkin Donuts to the East of the new location. This customer-centric design and will hopefully spread to other newly built Starbucks locations.

Good morning my fellow Yelpers, EnchiladaEdna is back on the road! I just visited the Starbucks near my hotel, and all I can say is what a lovely franchise. The staff greeted us with such warm energy. You could even feel it through the drive thru speaker. When we approached the window, we were met with a pleasant smile. They quickly gave us our food as ordered. Not much else to say. Images linked down below! Signing off, EnchiladaEdna333

Sometimes you need coffee at a place that everyone knows you. (Queue the Cheers theme song) This is my place. Love or hate Starbucks all you want. I love them. This location (96th and Masters) is the one for me. The manager, Gary, has a talent for finding baristas that get it. They understand community and building something out of rusher visits. This has been my Starbucks for the last 5 years and I love them. Kate, Jay, Bailey, Kristin, Laura... they kill in the mornings. My drinks are always tasty, they listen, and over time get to know you. There's always a smile and friendly conversation no matter how busy they are. There's even notes and art some days.

First time ordering at this location, the store was clean. Staff was friendly and got my order quick. But this Paradise drink was just ok, just trying new things.

Okay let's talk about it! Any and everyone that knows me knows how much I love, love, love Starbucks! I had to do a review on this location bcuz the WOW factor upon entering was off the charts! I walked in and was greeted by several employees immediately. I was looking around and perusing all of the display shelves and tables just taking it all in and also taking my sweet time. When I got to the counter the young lady was very nice. I ordered my normal morning drink and received it quite expeditiously. Everything here was absolutely perfect. Such a welcoming environment. I'll be back!

The drive through was hanging out the entrance area and another car was trying to exit so we just had my husband drop us off so he could get gas while we got my daughter coffee. It's a very crammed location, under a dozen tables and not much space for a spot of 4 grannies to get their order in, but very fast service with a crew of all smiles on a Black Friday..

    No spills here, happy days

I just wanna start off by saying that I like the new lids you guys have currently. You're prolly reading this thinking like wdym the lids bruv? But yeah, hear me out. There was a period for a few months when all the Starbucks had these poopy lids that came off if you even tried to sip yo caffeine and you'd have a caffeinated shirt before a caffeinated body for sure. Hey, I get it tho it's Covid times n whatnot. That corporate product shortage was real, i ain't doggin on y'all for that. Anyways I dropped my iced triple espresso w/ 5 pumps of pumpkin sauce (gas) on my center console today cuz I got distracted and it didn't spill at all. This prolly my first review but if you stayed with me till now, remember to smash that like and subscribe button.

Why can't they simply get a new lock for the ladies restroom? This has been a problem for at least 4 weeks!

It's obvious that these people really care about coffee and roast good beans. I got one of their summer specialty drink, Wake up San Francisco. It was a blackberry lavender Cuban. Never had a Cuban coffee drink before and honestly, I forgot what the barista told me it was, but it was pretty similar to a cortado in its milk vs. espresso ratio. The coffee was really good and I loved the combo of blackberry and lavender. It wasn't too sweet or overpowering. The atmosphere was lively and friendly. It may have been a little too loud for me to actually work at, but I was also there during peak hours. Also got a chocolate chip cookie for and was delighted to see that it was actually cookies in the back! Great value.

Full flavor, earthy, and deeply satisfying- sweetness is customized to your liking and we typically get honey. We haven't ventured into other menu items because this is the best, real chai we've tasted. The savory pastries and sweet treats are equally delicious, and seem to reflect the Yemeni culture or region. We tried the Khaliat Alnahl (Honeycomb) for breakfast today for the first time and it was literally perfect - flakey, crispy, buttery pockets of cream cheese with honey drizzled on top. The ambiance is clean, bright, and beautiful with modern fixtures. The music playing is typically something in Arabic and middle eastern. Which does add another layer of appreciation for the the historical and cultural context of coffee and chai tea. I could say a lot about this, but I digress. The staff do a great job to keep , and always answer any questions we have. They seem like a younger group, but keep to themselves, and keep the quality high. It's such an intimate performance area, and the sound and lighting are great. They have open mic nights here every week, and I can see myself coming back in the future to listen to more music. This is the "mothership" B&B -- the OG. I've been to some of the other Books & Brews around Indy before they closed, and this one definitely feels like an original. It's very ... lived in, let's say. The layout makes no sense, and there's a lot of stuff everywhere. But it's a cozy space, and lots of people, including families with young kids, were there when I visited. I like that there are "third places" like this that adults and kids can visit to to play games and eat and have a beer. (The adults have a beer! Sorry, kids.) The food at any Books & Brews has never been my favorite. In fact, I usually avoid it altogether and just get beer. But this time, my drink of choice was kombucha, and I got an "Oliver Twist," which is a soft pretzel with beer cheese. That reminds me: The food and beverages on their menu have silly little literary names. You have to know something about me: When I see silly little names on menus for ordinary food items, a switch turns on inside me and I become a defiant brat. I will never play along and say "The Girl with the Chicken Nuggie Tattoo" instead of "chicken nuggets" or "A Tale of Two Piggies" instead of "the ham and bacon sandwich." Nope. It's not happening. And when I ordered the "soft pretzel" instead of the "Oliver Twist," they understood me just fine. There is a huge wall of shelves filled with board games that you can grab and play at your table. There had to have been at least 50 or 60 different games. They also have lots of new board games for sale, as well as things like Magic the Gathering decks, Pokemon cards, Funko and geeky swag. Oh! And, of course, they have lots and lots of books, new and used. I couldn't tell if they were arranged with any rhyme or reason. So if you're looking for something specific, you might have better luck finding it elsewhere. But if you're looking to let destiny choose your next read, you might want to pop into Books & Brews and let the B&B powers-that-be guide you to the perfect book.
