One of my friends has been telling me about Yafa for awhile now and I finally got around to visiting! The shop is honestly pretty giant and there are lots of seating options to choose from. The place is really clean and very nice staff. When we ordered our food and drinks, we were given a buzzer. Everything came out fast! You can tell it is all handcrafted and that they take the time to make a good drink. Lots of seats have plugs if you're coming here to work, but not every spot. Be sure to snag a good seat if you're looking to stay for a couple of hours! As far as drinks, the biscoff latte was IMMACULATE! I mean, truly freaking delicious! An absolute MUST!! Easily one of my top 5 favorite coffee shops! I finally gave the Strawberry Shortcake Iced Latte a try, and wow--if you're a strawberry lover, this drink is an absolute must. It was sweet, refreshing, and tasted just like summer in a cup. I honestly never have anything negative to say about Yafa Golden Coffee. Their seasonal menus never disappoint, and I find myself looking forward to each new release. One of my favorite coffee shops in Indy! The lattes menu is extensive but not overwhelming, and don't get me started on the pastries! Sweet , savory, viral they have it all! I always get the Adani tea because it tastes like a warm hug in a cup. Today I tried the banana Carmel cold foam iced latte! It was perfect!!! Especially for someone who does not like bananas it was the right amount of banana flavor and caffeine! So many beautiful pastries but if you ever see the honeycomb cake make sure to grab it! Finally stopped in after hearing about the cafe for many, many months. There are so many baked goods to sample including the drinks. Love the bright, welcoming ambiance inside and there are loads of seats to sit and enjoy the wares. Finally got the chance to swing in Yafa!! They have a plethora of treats to pick from, so we ordered several. We tried the pecan cinnamon roll, raspberry fruit cake, tiramisu, and Dubai Chocolate Strawberries. My favorite out of what we tried was the Dubai Chocolate Strawberries!! Second favorite was the viral raspberry fruit cake, the inside has cake and raspberry mousse. Service was OK, they were quick to get our order ready for to go. Yafa isn't just a bakery and cafe it is a cultural experience. The decorations take you on an experience out of the USA and into Yemen. For a more authentic experience I would recommend getting the honeycomb pastry. Honeycomb Bread is filled with cream cheese and drizzled with honey and topped with sesame seeds. This place gets an extra star for being open on Christmas morning. I was in town visiting family Christmas morning and wanted to see if I could find anywhere local to stop by, which is how I found out about this place. It's tucked into one of a series of strip malls, so it would be super easy to miss. Of course, with it being a holiday, it looked like people were mostly doing grab and go, but the shop has a lot of cozy seating, inviting you to stick around and socialize. I'm going to start by saying... I'm obsessed with pastries, so that's the main reason I decided to go to Yafa Golden House. I was so happy when I got there and everything I ordered was delicious! I didn't even think about ordering the Dubai chocolate cheesecake but it was on the display right next to where you order and I couldn't help it, and wow was it aaaaa-mazing!. The red velvet cake was so good, not too sweet, and the spinach and feta pastry was perfect to balance out all the sweets. The coffee was just what I needed - even though I didn't really have any expectations. The decor and the vibe are incredible, the music is nice for ambiance without being overwhelming and the staff members were quick and nice. My husband and I stopped in here for a coffee and a snack before our nephew's basketball game across the street a couple weeks ago. I have been in a couple of times with my sister who lives nearby, but it was my husband's first time in. We ordered 3 different bakery item to split and the biscoff cheesecake was crowned the winner (it was also my sister and I's favorite item from the different items we ordered during our very first visit, so the quality has stayed the same). It is always very busy each time I have stopped in, which is good for business, but can mean long wait times to order and difficulty in maneuvering around tables to find seating when everyone is spread out into the small "aisles" between tables. During our visit we each ordered a hot coffee (I ordered the Yafa and my husband ordered a Spanish latte) and my husband's came out iced, even though the sticker in the side said hot like we had asked for. I went back up to the counter and they asked if I had ordered it hot (?? like it was my fault and not theirs) and I said yes and then pointed at the label that printed out from it being rung up. They said to give them 5 minutes and they'd make a new one and I could come back up to grab it (they give you beepers when you order so you know when your items are ready for pickup at the counter, but I no longer had one). After 6 minutes I went back up and they had not even started on it yet. He said that he had given the ice coffee to another staff member and he thought they had made it already, so I had to wait around up front until it was done. By the time it was made correctly we had to leave to get to the basketball game across the street on time, so my husband didn't get to drink his coffee with me or have anything to drink while we are our pasties. Popped into Yafa Golden Coffee today to cop a Dubai Chocolate Bar. If you don't know what I'm talking about, you probably: a) are not living with tweens and/or teens, or b) don't watch viral videos on TikTok because you don't have tweens/teens living in your house. Dubai Chocolate Bars are extremely popular right now, for reasons I was dubious about until I tasted the chocolate bar. It is whipped pistachio and kataifi, a crispy shredded phyllo pastry, all wrapped in milk chocolate. The bar is crispy and creamy, with a hint of peppery spice. One of my kids summed up the taste as: "Not as good as a Crunch bar, but still amazing." Yafa makes and sells their own Dubai Chocolate Bars, and they are delightful. Yafa also sells desserts with a Dubai Chocolate Bar spin, like their Dubai chocolate strawberry cup, Dubai chocolate cheesecake and Dubai croissants. Because I completed my mission of acquiring the viral Dubai Chocolate Bar (what a good mom!), I also picked up a couple of things for myself. This place is as much of a bakery as it is a coffee shop, and they have a lot of delicious Yemeni treats. I zeroed in on the Honeycomb, a pastry with pockets of cream cheese throughout, drizzled with honey. This is the thing to get here! And if they ask you if you want it warmed, say yes. I've learned to always say yes when a bakery asks if you want something warmed up. I also got a turkey and cheese job that was rolled up in paratha, a type of flatbread. They have a lot of different coffee drinks here, and they roast their own coffee beans, which is neat. I got a cortado -- a dainty little shot of caffeine that's a nice pick-me-up. Yafa has a drive-thru, but if you have time to sit and enjoy your coffee inside the shop, you should do it. The decor is so interesting, with twinkle lights and couches and a little hut-looking seating area that feels intimate. read more

Today I took a trip to Yafa Golden Coffee and this place is amazing. The establishment was very cozy with different sitting areas, wether you wanted to enjoy sitting at couch, table or in a gazebo stlye area (not pictured). The gentleman that rung me up was very helpful, becauae I had never heard of a red tea (cardamon, mint and black tea). I enjoyed a Red Tea with Mint, coconut pastry, banana pastry and a mango pastry. Of course I took them home to enjoy with my family. The coconut had a Pina Colada taste with a passion fruit center. The mango didn't quite taste like mango but it was still good. After seeing a slew of raving reviews, I had to give Yafa Golden Coffee a try. I arrived at about 12:30 PM on a Saturday and found a small table for two where I was able to set up my laptop and get some work done in their peaceful, warm, and stimulating atmosphere. They offer the convenience of complimentary Wi-Fi and parking. It looks like the owner was highly present in the dining area, constantly straightening chairs and wiping down tables as people left. He was pleasantly friendly and very hospitable. I did notice that when I left at around 1:30 PM, all the tables were full of chatting and studious folks so keep in mind that this is a highly desirable mingling destination where seating may be limited during high traffic times. As a coffee lover, I was torn in my choice as they offer an abundance of coffee and non-coffee beverages. I went with their seasonal pumpkin spice latte, and was not disappointed! Seriously, this is probably the best PSL that I have ever had. The espresso is perfectly roasted and not overly acidic like the kind found at the popular chain coffee houses. It was creamy and had a perfect balance of cinnamon and pumpkin. And what a pastry selection! The pictures do not do their beautifully assembled sweets any justice. The colors are vibrant, the pastries are flaky, and their presentation is stunning. I'm not well-versed in international desserts, but this is absolutely a go-to place to sample both nontraditional and traditional sweets. My pumpkin muffin was wonderfully moist and flavorful. My only gripe was the state of the bathroom. I appreciate that they are gender neutral and well stocked, but they looked like they had not been wiped down in a few days. Stains and dust were abundant on all the surfaces, and I hate to think that the people preparing my food touch those same surfaces. With as much business as Yafa pulls in, I would suggest an hourly bathroom check to simply wipe down everything. Maintaining a sanitary environment is key to any dining establishment. read more

I was so excited to see this on a short list of places that had the viral Dubai chocolate bar in-stock locally! I went over recently and was happy to see a "coffee shop" (even though they're more than a coffee shop) open late and packed. The very reason more coffee shops should have later hours! However, this seems to be a spot popular with local kids so it was VERY loud compared to most coffee shops, which would be tricky if you needed a place to work. I ordered a slice to-go of the Dubai chocolate cheesecake ($9) and a Dubai bar ($6 or 2/$10 currently). The Dubai strawberries were sold out, as I've seen reviews elsewhere say these are almost always sold out (I wish they were able to make more). The bar ended up being very small with hardly anything inside. The chocolate is also extremely bitter. I wish it was clear that it's not made with the traditional milk chocolate. The cheesecake was a bit frozen so I let it sit out for an hour. The cheesecake itself had an odd flavor (and more of a soft ricotta texture) that I tried to get past but after a couple bites could not enjoy. I pulled the chocolate/pistachio part off the top and loved it SO much! If this was what the chocolate bar tasted like, it would be SO much better! After saving half of the little chocolate bar for the next day, I saw that it was gray in color. Typically chocolate looks like this when it's old so it ended up getting thrown out since I couldn't get past the bitter flavor anyways. Saw this spot on instragram and was super excited to try it due to the hype. The atmosphere is super great and a great place to work from or meet up with friends. I got the aden breeze which was fantastic - tangy flavors and super refreshing. I also got the honeycomb pastry which was interesting. It is not sweet and even with the filling and honey drizzle I found it a little dry - definitely best enjoyed with a beverage. I am also not an expert on Yemeni baked goods though so do not come for me and form your own option. They have a wide variety of pastries so I am excited to try more.
