It's a nice spot in the heart of Lake Geneva's main touristy corridor and a great place to relax and get some reading or writing done before hitting the beach. The Starbucks itself was lovely the wait time was absurd. I have never waited in line so long just to get a giftcard and water. The cashier kept leaving the register after every order which caused people to be waiting in line for an extremely long amount of time. The employees are extremely busy and overworked. read more

As another reviewer said, this Starbucks is always busy because they don't have much competition in the town of Lake Geneva. I like it, though...on the outside it looks like a big house, and the inside is very spacious with lots of seating. They also have one fireplace. It's quaint and cozy. read more

I have discovered that not all Starbucks are alike. With that statement, I believe that the Starbucks restaurant looks so much different from the average Starbucks yet in a very positive way. As you can see from the front of the store's picture this looks like a far different store than we have found so far. As we entered the restaurant, I discovered different areas for different activities. Outside you will find a number of outdoor tables. Within the store you can be seated in comfortable chairs around the fireplace. Sections of normal chairs and tables await you. Higher tables and chairs are interspersed throughout the establishment. The wait staff was courteous as well as endowed with a sense of humor. I have discovered blueberry ice tea and peach ice tea. I asked the barista if they had cheese curds since it is in Wisconsin. She said no but that would be a great addition to the Starbucks menu in Wisconsin. read more

Worst Starbucks I have ever been to. Took 20 minutes to get two green iced teas. And then we sat down with them, sipped them, and discovered they were sweetened. We had ordered unsweetened. Had to go back and have them correct the order. Place was filthy ~ unwiped tables with food remnants and garbage on them, garbage cans overflowing, floors dirty. For ever and ever my go to place in town. Very different than the other 1e6 mermaid locations. I do miss kat and the old team circa 2010. Turnover is high and they move folks often (spreading the best around but hey I'm selfish and want them here). This one was remodeled with reclaimed wood from local barn. Nicely done. Nice park in front to sip and watch Chicago tourists in summer. New peets is opening soon so let's see if competition is good for mermaid. read more

With respect to the basics, this is reliable Starbucks, with a friendly staff, solid drinks, etc. But it must be said, the location itself has a really high ceiling. So it gets noisy easily, sound echoes, and it's even hard for whoever is taking the order to hear you. It would be great if they put something in the ceiling to reduce the noise, but it would be shocking if they did so. read more

Cozy location right in downtown LG! They have plenty of comfy chairs in front of a fireplace. Employees are friendly and they have upbeat classical music playing. Also have outdoor seating when weather permits. Great study spot as well. read more

This location is by far THEEE BEST I've EVER been to!! So cozy!! Very busy lines because I'm assuming it's in downtown Lake Geneva so they get a lot of tourists walking through town and stopping by. Anyhow, they have a variety of treats and sweets, sandwiches, snacks, water, different types of juices, and coffees of course!! Also, they have GREAT gift selections and coffee beans!! Oh...and did I mention that everyone there is so friendly? The employees here are so kind to their customers! I will miss this location when I go back home to Chicago... This place is disgusting. There was literal shit all over the men's room yesterday. The bathrooms were closed for hours as usual while not a soul cleaned it. Finally they did and kept it closed another 2 hours. LITERAL. SHIT. ALL OVER. The trash was overflowing as usual while the staff chatted and there was no line. Trash all over the floor. It's not the middle of tourist season, Brian whipped up a Blonde Iced Americano in no time flat, and showed enough personal interest to joke about card readers with me- unlike some snotty baristas at other locations. Pathetically incompetent. Waited 25 minutes for an iced green tea that we ordered ahead with the Starbucks app. We were not offered a free drink voucher but we did get an apology. Still...when you're standing there and watching them run around each other with very little coordination, it's frustrating as hell. For years, this lot sat vacant, and then Starbucks moved in. A wonderful location, a larger Starbucks, with plenty of room and a warm, cozy fireplace for those cool autumn and chilly winter days. The lines are usually long here because Lake Geneva does not have much competition in the coffee and tea market. However, a drink near the fireplace in Lake Geneva is completely worth it. The pastry and other edible items are almost always fully stocked here and the service is usually excellent. It's your typical Starbucks fare, nothing unique or different, but for those of us who love Starbucks, this hits the spot! read more

Typical Starbucks. Good seating, fireplace, and layout. Generally just a good spot to hang out, study, or meet up. Usually a long line here as it's the only one in a VERY busy small town. Have visited multiple times and the staff seems to be generally younger and not as attentive to detail as I'm used too. // Waited for my entire order to be done before mentioning my name, even though I was there obviously waiting for something. // Took liberties with my simple name // I had many items and was by myself - they didn't think to ask if I wanted a carrier. So I got one myself and the barista watched and never said anything or offered to help, they continued to clean there station. // Mind you, there was 1 person in line, 5 employees behind the counter. What was weird was that the entire place was FILLED with kids from local high school and grammar schools who don't buy any SB's products and take up all the seats. Barista "Dee" is a meanie!! Dare I begin the story of Valentines day night when all I wanted to do was get a "buy one share~ one latte"? Well..... here goes.... (and the 3 stars are for the bomb interior that made me feel like I was in a mountain lodge out west in a ski town...and the yummie latte as well). All I asked was, "if I get the buy one share one, can they be two different kinds?" I wanted a white choc mocha and a cinnamon dolche for hubby. Meanie Dee says, "What?? You want 4??" Me: "no, I have a coupon for buy one share one, I wanted to know if they can be different" Meanie: "Well do you have 2 coupons?!?" Me: "Ummmm, no, I only want one drink, and one free drink" Frankly, I didn't even need the freakin coupon because from 2-5 that day it was buy one share one also.... i've been to a lot of starbucks. all over the country. my level of pretension is pretty high. i love both starbucks and whole foods and i feel no shame in saying i seek them out, knowing full well how much i am going to pay for a cup of coffee or a salad, respectively. that being said... this starbucks was enormous. spacious. clean. lots of windows. a huge ass fireplace in the middle of it. it was like getting coffee in my granpa's ski cabin. except my grandpa never had a ski cabin. he's not rich. i just pretend he was. when i pretend i am.... when i pretend $3 is totally acceptable for a cup of coffee. i wasn't forced to wait for my cup of coffee on top of ten other patrons who looked like they had better places to be. i wasn't forced to try to hear my name being half yelled, with customary eye roll from whatever barista isn't so excited to be serving up my grande iced coffee, hold the syrup, in a venti cup, extra soy milk. yeah..... it's *that* kind of order..... but it's also *that* kind of coffee place. starbucks, lake geneva, you nailed it. read more
