    Sourdough toast
    Carolyn C.

I think I could live at this place - it's just so cozy. It smells delicious and the people working there were super friendly. It was my first time so I probably looked confused but was helped quickly and decided on a regular coffee and the sourdough toast as I just was walking around at the farmers market and saw that it wasn't too busy so I wanted to give it a try. Even though it wasn't that busy, it probably took about 8 to 10 minutes for my toast, but I received my coffee immediately and if you dine in you do get free refills on the drip coffee, which was nice. The coffee was absolutely delicious. Probably the best drip coffee. I have had a really long time. My sourdough toast with fresh fruit, and raspberry jam was also delicious. I traveled to Lake Geneva often to visit friends and family in the area, and I am definitely going to make this one of my must stops in the future. There is indoor and outdoor seating - more indoor with the bathrooms behind the main building. Also for next time they have $10 s'mores supplies for use at their tables outside!

This is the exact kind of place I'd love to own myself. Adorable, local coffee shop/cafe serving up a variety of fresh eats and good drinks. Plus, it's in the perfect location - a side street right in downtown LG. I'd imagine most people that patron this shop are tourists (like us). From a distance, this place draws you in. You can see the big patio from afar with lots of seating - including couches and adirondack chairs - and big red umbrellas. Upon entry, it's a very welcoming place. Clean, bright, natural light. We ordered three iced lattes and an americano, which all were whipped up in a few minutes, despite it being super busy. I had a little of the brown sugar syrup added to mine and it was the perfect addition, not too sweet. The patio was indeed so enjoyable, especially on a cool, sunny day! We didn't get anything to eat but saw a handful of dishes brought out to other customers and they looked dang good. Including some kind of colorful salad and various toasts. Certainly a charming spot for breakfast and lunch, along with beers and wines to sip on!

After some disappointing coffees and breakfasts, this was a much needed change up! And the prices here were way more reasonable compared to others. Everything was so good. The place is adorable with tables set up with chess or checkers or other games to play. There's a cute, life-sized llama for purchase at the front doors. The inside has quite a bit of seating though it definitely gets crowded, and there's outdoor tables as well. We came around 7:30/8am, which was luckily before the rush. The line was out the door at some points. What we got: Yogurt parfait - Our kids shared this and they loved it. Definitely more than enough for the two of them to split. Breakfast sandwich on croissant with bacon and cheddar - One of our kids finished half their sandwich plus half the parfait, while the other finished their half of the parfait but not the sandwich so we saved it for later. They both really liked this! Avocado + Egg Sandwich - This was nice and felt satisfying but also light. The egg and avocado had that savory element that made it filling. Lox on a Bagel - This was delicious. My husband really liked the everything seasoning on top, which was a unique aspect. I thought it could do without because the salmon is already salty enough that it didn't need more. But this is a solid order and you really can't go wrong unless everything is slipping off the bagel. But the bagel here had great texture and chew! Brown sugar oat - This was delicious. There's really nothing so sad as terrible coffee with your breakfast. We were so happy the coffee here was equally as good as the food! Dirty matcha latte - Matcha was strong and the espresso was strong too--no weak flavors here. So good!

Love this spot for coffee. The flat white was fantastic! The blueberry muffin was good, could use a few more blueberries. Loved the interior and didn't know this initially but there is another space you can sit if you go outside and to the left. The bathroom is located there too. Will definitely be back..

Obsessed with their French Madeline latte. Haven't had anything like it anywhere else. I usually get it with almond milk and it's decadent and frothy. I've never had a bad drink here. Although it's very close to the main strip in Lake Geneva we always find close parking. One of our favorite stops!

I got my coffee to go on a chilly April day. The restaurant was beautiful. If I had a coffee shop this is exactly what I would want it to look like. I had medium madeleine coffee because I saw someone else recommended it. DELICIOUS!

This is the cutest little coffee shop in downtown. It's actually big once you learn that there is a second room that you have to access via going outside. This extra room is beautiful and so cozy with lots of board games, books, sofas, etc. my dirty chai was delicious! Not too spicy, which I like. The staff was attentive and very sweet. The apple fritter was delicious!

This was my first visit to The Porch. I ordered a coffee and a HEC Bagel. Both were good. The coffee shop has a wonderful atmosphere and the misic was great for a rainy day. Definitely want to return soon.

Outdoor seating on a beautiful days makes this a great destination for breakfast. I enjoyed the Bourbon Caprese Melt. Definitely would get that again!

I came back here over and over because the coffee was just so good and the service was amazing. I talked to the barista about what I was looking for, and she handcrafted a customized drink based off of my sweet preferences and flavor profiles that I was looking for. She was spot on with her recommendation, and I came back to order the same drink several times. The ambience in the café was very cute and cozy, but also had a modern farmhouse type of feel. Overall, I would highly recommend this place for anyone in the area that is looking for a reliable coffee spot.

Loved the ambiance, they have it all decorated for Christmas and it's truly stunning. The service was also awesome, as she helped me decide what to get and customized my food as I don't eat bacon. I had low hopes for food, but it was better than expected. I do think they would be better using real avocado instead of guac type paste. I will definitely come back!

The mansion was built in 1856, making it the first mansion in Lake Geneva. The estate has been completely redone but charming details were kept. Along with a mansion where you can book a room, Maxwell also includes beautiful gardens, lounges, outdoor fireplaces, a heated pool, croquet and bocce ball. There is also a separate area in the back with motel rooms. Like I said, I was there for a lil' drink. There's a bar inside the mansion (Apothecary Bar) with all kinds of medical and druggist paraphernalia, with the space being a tribute to Dr. Philip Maxwell. But it's the speakeasy, which is accessible outside in the front of the house, that you'll want to visit. Ask for the password inside the mansion, and they will let you into a dark, below-ground bar. It's all decorated in prohibitionist flyers, and even the bartenders are dressed up in period costumes. It's a really cool and unique bar in Lake Geneva.

A friendly helpful bartender, explained all their creative cocktails, shared the pub food that they offered, and answered questions. We ordered a flatbread pizza and a spinach artichoke dip as well as a couple of cocktails. They served us at a table where we sat on a couch in a room just across the hall and were quite comfortable. There are other rooms where you can go - not much seating in the actual apothecary bar.
