What a nice and quaint little place. We saw quite a few ads for the place so we thought we would check it out during our vacation in Lake Geneva away from the hustle and bustle of the city. This place was so refreshing! We first rented bikes for an hour and took a ride on the trail that goes right past it. It's pretty much in the middle of nowhere but that's so refreshing sometimes. After our ride, we came back and there were two guys pickin' and playing on the front porch. We went in and ordered a sandwich and smoothie. We had the sandwich special of the day, turkey with a cranberry mayo, made from scratch. It was so delicious! We sat outside in a gliding rocker and listed to the guys play some old songs. We went inside and looked around the place at all of the little trinkets and antiques they have on display for sale. Such a great little place and the owners are so nice! They were so kind to us and chatted our ears off. We highly recommend you give it a try.

The state trail that runs by this place is a former railroad corridor and the shop is in the old train depot.

I visited to get a little something sweet after dinner. They have a dozen or so ice cream flavors, plus fudge and chocolates and other candies. I chose to get a milk chocolate caramel and a marzipan fruit. Both of them were great, but I especially loved the marzipan. I rarely eat marzipan, but when I do, I'm always reminded of how much I love almond paste. Yum yum. The people who I was with who got ice cream said that their ice cream was good. I took their word for it because I'm not a big ice cream fan! The people behind the counter were very patient, as some of the people in my group were indecisive. There are just so many great goodies, and it can be difficult to decide what to get! The people at Kilwins get it, though.

This location, in the heart of downtown Lake Geneva, looks similar in many ways, but I felt like it was more spacious. When we were there, they were making several batches of fresh fudge, and the smell was overwhelming and delicious. It took me a few minutes to decide, but the staff were friendly and patient. I ended up with a few different cones: Kilwins Track, Salted Caramel, and Cherry. My biggest complaint? They gave me way too much -- it looked like at any second it was going to topple off the top of the cone. :) All three cones were excellent, and I'd be happy to stop by again.

Adrian's Frozen Custard isn't just a shop; it's a time capsule of Americana. Established in 1974, this roadside landmark at 512 S. Pine Street is announced by a towering, classic neon sign that has beckoned families toward Lake Geneva for over half a century. It represents a "meaningful moment" legacy--the kind of place where the world slows down long enough to capture a snapshot of pure bliss. I carry a memory of my departed father-in-law sitting there, surrounded by his grandchildren in the gentle breeze of a holiday afternoon. It is a perfect, preserved moment of happiness, fueled by the kind of soul-curing milkfat that most assuredly comes from cows just a few miles down the road. When it comes to the product, there is only one word that matters: Mouthfeel. This is the masterclass of the "Midwest Custard" texture--silky, dense, and unapologetically heavy. While the world tries to complicate things with endless toppings, Adrian's understands that the soul of custard lives in the trinity: Chocolate, Vanilla, or the Swirl. To me, those are the only flavors a true stand needs. Anything more would be a distraction from the perfection of the churn. Adrian's is the foundational entry on my Mount Rushmore of Ice Cream, a leading god in my Pantheon of Frozen Dairy. It is the nostalgic classic against which all other textures are measured. If you find yourself near the lake, do more than just grab a cone. Experience the stillness, sit in the circle, and build this into your own legacy of meaningful moments. It is a timeless experience that reminds us why we travel in the first place.

Still a gem! Always delicious, always the best flavors of the day and monthly specials. They do…read moreaccept cards now too!
