It's hipper than Vickie's Cafe (just across the street), but 2x the cost, and the patio doesn't justify such because during most of the off-season there's only 'indoor' seating being offered (and there's just not enough tables). Also, the lack of this interior design's sound absorption panels (nonesuch are in the ceiling as is normal for empty concrete floors and undecorated walls), and is horrendous. IT'S SO ANNOYINGLY LOUD that an LG-vacation-good-providing-poppa has to turn down his hearing aid to avoid cacophonous feedback noise, and even then he can't hear his grandkids talking. SAW THIS HAPPEN YEAR-AFTER-YEAR. Bad ambient echoing noises aside, the place is being set-up by hiring cheap, min-wage, inexperienced teens and mostly struggling immigrants. It's also SLOWLY FALLING IN TO DISREPAIR (see photos). Food is fine, but only egg, flour, onion, pork back fat, and gobs of cheese mostly (and bit-o-veg, but unintentionally uninteresting farm-fresh-local produce for generic breakfast faire)... p Plus, the bakery (outside of true European boulangeries, Simple Bakery is mostly sugar, processed seed oil fats (not butter, tallow, or olive), and non-organic, GMO grains, with inexpensive flour/yeast combos and ¢80 ingredients with a HUGE $8 price tag (why not $3-4?). Some tourists deal with 1). high prices for breakfast/lunch basics 2). noisy dining, and 3). rough exterior decor/dining room wear-down issues for basic upkeep.

    Giant cinnamon roll

I was craving something sweet and carb-y so landed at this little gem just before closing. Success! They had giant cinnamon rolls. But since they were about to closed they gave me a second one on the house! They were so large, I thought I'd eat half but it was so soft and lovely than I inhaled the whole thing in one sitting. Highly recommend!

An excellent place to stop for a coffee and pastry while you're walking around Lake Geneva. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Locally owned and operated, this place has fresh James, jellies, and other sundries. The doughnuts, breads, and pastries are freshly made every daily. All ingredients fresh and locally sourced I highly recommend a stop here if you're in the area.

The selection of desserts were plentiful and looked delicious but I couldn't help but remember how unfriendly the service was. At first entry, I looked around and started taking pictures like I usually do on Yelp. No hello or welcome in greetings from the workers, all I got was a serious question of what are you taking pictures of??? Now my family and I had seriously enjoyed the service and the dining experience at the Simple Cafe next door and wanted to enjoy a tasteful dessert afterwards. Even though the desserts we ordered were really good (like the flourless chocolate cup cake yummmm) I had to deduct a star for the horrible service. If you are committing to the service industry, at least hire people that are friendly and like interacting with people.

Small size Carrot Cake with Brown Butter icing, small size. Delicious!

This bakery is run by the same company as the Simple Restaurant next door. I have ordered three birthday cakes from them over a period of two years, and all have been excellent. For 2026, my husband wanted something different from our usual decadent chocolate cake with chocolate or fudge icing, so I chose a Carrot Cake with Brown Butter Icing with blue "Happy Birthday" and blue stars. Wow, this cake is good! The batter is rich and rather dense, the spicing is good, and neither the cake nor the icing is overly sweet. We both approve. At the Simple Bakery, everything is made from scratch. It features a selection of fresh breads daily, including French baguettes. The glass case is full of delicacies to drool over. Surrounding shelves are lined with locally-made jams, jellies, and yummy snacks. Specialty round cakes come in two sizes, may be ordered with a few days' notice, and come with special writing, designs, or fresh fruit in season for a few dollars extra. Their prices are more reasonable than other local bakeries. They do get busy, and instructions are sometimes difficult to hear when taking them via phone. If there's a question about your order, the friendly and helpful staff will call you back. This place is a keeper! I'm looking forward to ordering my own birthday cake from Simple this winter.

Honestly, I had high hopes for this place since the Cafe next door was excellent! The service here was HORRIBLE! My husband and I were taking pictures of their sweet treats and their decor. It was cute and inviting until we were asked, in a very rude manner, why we were taking pictures. I think it's a very valid question, but the accusatory tone was a turn-off. I was about to tell my husband and parents that we should leave, but I wanted to try the desserts that the gals from the cafe raved about. In retrospect, we should've just left. We ordered the chocolate flourless cupcakes, a kouign amann, and a chocolate walnut cookie. The cupcakes were tasty, and so was the cookie. The kouign amann was lacking, and it was hard! I don't trash businesses on Yelp. But the rudeness was ridiculous! They probably would've gotten a higher rating even for mediocre service. But, the ladies were just plain rude! I definitely will not be back when visiting the area.

Wow!! Everything is amazing. Monkey bread is out of this world!! Cupcakes were adorable and I like the way they frosted them. Trued the Carrot cake and red velvet. Delicious. Bring some banana bread home. If you expect to share....get more then one because you won't want to share

BELIEVE ME WHEN I SAY THAT THIS IS THE BEST DANISH PASTRY I'VE EVER HAD!!! I went in to get 1 Danish pastry, got inside the car and started driving, took 1 bite, and realized that I NEED TO GO BACK RIGHT NOW! Ended up getting 6 more!! Best local bakery I've ever been to with a super warm and welcoming environment and the most delicious food!! You will not be disappointed!!!

    Chocolate croissant

Delish! We picked up breakfast at this place three days in a row. Delicious chocolate croissants, muffins and scones. My husband also got some chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies which were yummy. I got a carrot cake cupcake which was just ok. I love carrot cake so was a bit disappointed that it was half the size of regular cupcake and wasn't very tasty. Frosting was delicious though. Everyone was very nice and polite. Would definitely recommend.

Friendly, Fast & Efficient service. The baked goods were very good & the chai was flavorful. Would recommend the cinnamon roll.

Love their garlic and rosemary sourdough bread, and their caraway rye sandwich loaf. We always stop by when we're in town.

Fantastic crusty bread, half of which doesn't make it home because we stuff it in our face on the way home in the car.

Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed with my iced peach chai latte. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either, Just mediocre. I've had a lot better. I had their Cyclops donut which is just a chocolate covered donut with a dollop of buttercream frosting on top. It was excessively sweet which can detract from its taste. Unfortunately, I wasn't a fan of that either. It is clean and spacious inside and its decor is rustic chic. Seating ranges with a multi-zoned, versatile environment designed for everyone from quick stop patrons to remote workers. Lounge/Armchair Area situated in a cozy nook near a fireplace with, soft, upholstered chairs paired with low coffee tables for relaxing or reading. Table Tops (Regular/Standard): Laid throughout the center and along the perimeter walls. These standard height dining tables provide supportive surfaces for working, socializing, or eating. Bar Seating- elevated counters overlooking the street with high stools- ideal for solo visitors, charging devices, or people watching. Staff were friendly and efficient. They do offer military discounts, just ask and present your ID. The coffee shop is advertised as kid friendly. They offer kid friendly drinks and they have a partitioned area that has a kid sized table and family style seating.

My daughter ran into Jersey Mikes to grab lunch on our way to Whitewater. I personally can't stand…read morethe smell of Jersey Mike's and could always use another coffee so thought I'd pop into this adorable looking coffee shop. I walked right up to order (no line whoo hoo) and waited. And waited. And waited. Finally I asked if i could place an order and was told someone would be right with me. From there the young women behind the register chatted and didn't seem to be in any hurry to help. There was one busy with the drive thru, but besides that they didn't have much going on. Finally someone came up to ask if i needed anything. Yes! I ordered a latte with almond milk and to their credit they had it ready within minutes. And it was a solid almond milk latte! There weren't many others in this coffee shop this past Sunday, but there were plenty of seating options and the atmosphere is super cute. You may have to wait awhile to place your order, but besides that this spot checked all my coffee checkboxes.
