I've lived in McKinney my entire life, and I've come to this Starbucks off and on for the last 12-13 years and I've always had a good experience...until today on 4/13/24. A Shift Supervisor by the name of 'Janice' - could've sworn her name tag said 'Darlana/Darlene' possibly--was so incredibly hostile, unapproachable, and rude. It's like she took one look at me and targeted me for whatever reason. She was making drinks, not making eye contact, and each time she brought out mine, my sister's or my mom's orders she was avoiding me completely. My mom and sister were waiting in the car with my nephew so I was picking up all of our orders. The Shift Supervisor didn't acknowledge me, cool maybe she's super focused on making other drinks. I said "thank you" in a bubbly and cheery voice with a smile. She doesn't say a thing, and again, doesn't acknowledge me whatsoever. I also ordered a pup-cup that blew over outside when I was carrying the drink holder out to my sister's car. So I go back inside and kindly ask for another pup cup from a different Shift Supervisor that was on duty at the time. I can't remember his name off of the top of my head. The Shift Supervisor with the tacky attitude looks at me, pulls a plastic cup out, slams it on the counter top, fills it with whipped cream, hands it to the other Shift Supervisor to hand to me, and then literally THROWS the metal whipped cream canister in the sink, and just glares at me. I was so appalled at her behavior and taken back. I finally asked her in a calm tone and concerned manner if she was okay. She said "Yeah...we always toss canisters in the sink this way." .....Yeah, OKAY. I walk out of the restaurant so angry I'm on the verge of tears. Tell my mom and sister about the interaction and finally talk myself into saying something before we left the parking lot. I go back inside and the super nice Shift Supervisor is in the corner pulling out a bakery item. I politely say "Hey there, I just wanted to ask what her name was." He hears me out. I ask for the DM's name and also grab the Store Manager's name. I've people led and managed in retail for 10+ years and just couldn't believe the service that was given to me. I would've never tolerated this sort of behavior from one of my team members. This would be an immediate documented discussion or written warning depending on if this has happened in the past or not. Definitely not someone I would hire or want on my team. Absolutely disrespectful and unappreciated. I genuinely hope whatever it is that set her off whether she's sick of working for Starbucks, has family issues, grieving something or someone--that she gets the time to grieve and/or heal. I know that Starbucks has amazing benefits and resources for their team members. Please provide her with them. read more

Very rude. I came in at a quiet time to order a drink. Two employees were there. One was on the phone and the other was pacing around. Both made eye contact with me and would not speak to me. I walked in asked for two large waters, and one of the employees said, "sure" and the other quickly said "no." I kindly asked why and she responded that they "run out of cups." Listen, I never write reviews. But today was super disheartening. I ordered a Trenta coffee, and saw that they made a tall. I asked them if I could get the correct size. The person told me I was lying, and continued to reprimand me for "not checking to make sure it was the size I wanted" I told her I could show her the receipt, but she refused. Let's start by saying that I have an infinite love of coffees, teas, power juices and such. I have the Starbucks app and use the tar out of it. This location is convenient and right off the highway. A star for that. Half of the staff was wonderful and accommodating as I was watching them fill the orders of the LONG line in front of me. A second star for the 1/2 of good staff. The hubs had to finish up some work on his computer so I ordered my coffee in advance. No biggie. I just make my way to the pickup station as he connects to the WiFi. So, remember how I said half ohms the staff was wonderful? Yeah, I'm just watching how one guy is rude to a customer and two ladies just laugh, one rolls her eyes. He keeps this up and since I pre-ordered I'm just kinda patiently waiting. When the guy comes over to ask if he could help me I just said no thank you, I can wait. (I wasn't in a mood for a smart-mouthed comment from him and I didn't need to hear the girls snickering at how big funny he was) Anywho... there are worse things, so I get my coffee put all my goodies in it drop it off by the hubs and decide to go to the ladies room. Ask any woman...our minds go 90 to 1000 a minute so we notice everything in the 30 seconds of nothing while peeing. These bathrooms are by far some of the grossest I have seen. No exaggeration. I don't take a cell in the bathroom, I think that is nasty, too; but I wish I had to post pictures. The grout is black. It's not supposed to be. It's black with ten tackles coming up the side of the tiles. It's over the baseboards... it's nastier than some roadside stops we've HAD to stop at. In one spot there something used to be on the floor you can see a tiny minuscule light gray minor-lt tainted light grey grout. I'm thinking, I know they make a turd-load of money because even I should have stocks in the company by now... this is unacceptable. But once I leave the restroom I notice it extends to the commons area. So being the verbal but lovely patron I am, before typing this 40 page essay I donask to speak to someone in charge. "What is it?" "Are you the manager?" "No but what is it? We are kind of busy" (sarcasm noted) "I just wanted to share something that needs to be fixed but didn't want to make a public announcement" "No one cares, what is it?" "Ok, your bathrooms a beyond filthy and it needs a scrubbing from top to bottom" "Ah ok thanks, you interrupted me for that?" "Yep" Will not return to this location. Ehhhhh. Maybe I caught them on an off day but this is probably the worst customer service I've received since I moved to McKinney. Everyone seemed so angry and irritated. I was trying to pay with cash at the register and when I asked her how much it was and didn't have the cash immediately ready, the cashier pointed to the girl behind me and had her pay. I had to step to the side and get the money together and then wait until the cashier was willing to take my payment. That already had me in a sour mood, and then I tried their coffee and it didn't seem to be made right. January 24. Horrible experience! My staff and I always go to this location and order the same thing we love every time. For some reason now things have changed I don't know if management was changed? I am so sad that now I have to get my coffee elsewhere since we work a couple steps away. Long story short I was waiting for my coffee and was noticed by a young man making the hot drinks and informed the manager and another young lady who were conversating that I was waiting on my coffee and hadn't been made because they did not know if it was hot or cold even with the sticker having add ice to my blonde expresso with milk and syrups. I was put on the spot as to how I should order it from now on because it was "ordered wrong". They did a remodel of this store. It is terrible. They have a lounge in the middle. I hate those half booths. The electrical plugs don't work. They have one piece of art of a volcano and coffee trees a six year old could paint. They took away the front tables I sat in for over fifteen years. Starbucks you suck. The baristas are friendly though and remember my order. They now have nitro cold brew which is weak. I probly will NOT continue to visit this store. Go support a local coffeeshop. I did tell the district manager about the tables being taken from the front and he did move two tables out front. read more

This Starbucks is ALWAYS busy. The parking lot is packed. So, these are the signs that they must be doing something right. I've never stayed and finished my coffee inside. Usually because I'm in that area to run errands. Most often its hard to find a seat as well. Again another sign, that people really like it here. There were a few people in line. My son had just worked out and was hungry. He ordered a breakfast sandwich. The friendly cashier checked because she thought they might be out. It was 10:00am, so it was at the end of the breakfast rush. We were in luck, there was one left. I ordered my latte and she asked if my name was spelled with a "c" or "k". That has to be a first. I don't think a barista has ever asked me how to spell my name. I really wouldn't care if they misspelled my name. It would make sense if they spelled it with a "k" since that is the way a girl would spell it. Since, I'm certain my parents wanted a boy, I have the boy spelling. Anyway, I'm on a tangent...my point is that it's sweet that she asked. As I was waiting for my drink. I heard the cashier call many patrons by name. Awesome Starbucks. They did not fix orders first in first out. The inside ordering process needs to be addressed. I am always happy when my order is complete. This place is so unpredictable. It is consistent in one area though- taking forever and forgetting your drinks. I have done orders ahead and arrived a few minutes late and STILL have to wait CONSISTENTLY. I've done it at all times of days, different days, etc. Maybe I'm the exception, but it's been so many times I can't imagine it is. I'm sitting here as I type, while hubby is up waiting for my brewed cup of coffee with cream that they "forgot". Not a pour over, not a fancy schmancy, a brewed coffee. This is my first visit to this particular store in over a year. There was a new Barista being trained and he is going to be quite good. Today appears to be his day 1 or 2 but the team appears to be working well together. Received smiles and a welcome when I entered. This was a pretty busy store at 4:30 pm. Quality of Coffee was solid and made properly by the trainee. He also rang up my refill. Only issue would be the bathroom required attention and the cooler / sandwich bin could use a little TLC. This is one of the older style stores and the furnishings are a bit worn. This will be a stunning place after it receives the updates we have seen at other stores. read more

Whether I'm rushing in and out with a mobile order (which they always fill very fast) or sitting down to study, they are very accommodating.
