This place is 9/10ths bicycle shop and 1/10th coffee shop. It really is mostly bikes! They have a limited menu of lattes and no pastries on my visit. They did have a wide selection of energy bars and other sport-related pick me up snacks. I think one of my favorite things here were the creaky wooden floors and steep staircase to the bike showroom upstairs. I settled in on a leather chair by the front door to enjoy my drink. Definitely worth a visit if you're a bike enthusiast or just for the novelty of it. read more

The lavender lemonade drink was the bomb so don't miss out! Especially on a hot day! Service was great, the barista was pretty friendly as well. Ambiance is unique due to how the coffee shop is within a bike shop. Don't worry though, there is an area for sitting downstairs and upstairs. read more

This place you will undoubtably walk past turn around and then take a closer look when headed here not knowing where it is. We did it- and as we were sitting in our car, planning our next move, so did the next man walking up :) it's a nice cup of espresso! We both were so surprised in the flavor of the beans. We have a very very nice espresso machine at home that we use during the week but one of our lives is trying new (to us) coffee shops on the weekends. You will not be disappointed and if you have an espresso machine at home you will be adding them to the list of places to buy your next bag of beans! Give them a try! I have slowly become a regular customer here! Though the Bikes are fascinating to look at I'm not really in the market for one. Instead I come here for the coffee! The girl that works the front counter, Madison, always makes me a wonderful drink! I'm vegan and she can always come up with something new and delicious for me to try! They have almond milk and oat milk. And the people are great! I can always sit down and enjoy my coffee and chat with Madison just a bit. She's made me several drinks and all of them have been so amazing and delicious! She is a great worker and her coworkers are very kind as well. I have been wanting to visit this shop for so long! Which is strange...I don't ride a bike. I don't even know how lol. But a coffee shop inside of a bike shop was basically taunting me to come visit even though I want nothing to do with bicycles. The guys inside were super laid back and just let us do our thing as we roamed around looking at I don't even know what now...lol. But the coffee was great and I highly recommend a vanilla latte with oat milk. There's some seating at a high top table right in front of the coffee bar or upstairs as well as some tables outside. I love exploring Downtown McKinney and feel like every time I visit I discover a new place that I love. Don't pass by this place and not go in if you're walking around! What a great establishment!!! The combination between bike shop and coffee shop makes this place quirky and so unique to this area... reminds me of some of my favorite Austin staples. Ian was so friendly, down to earth, and engaging with all the folks that came in to order a drink and it's always refreshing to come across coffee shops where you're warmly received and can have great conversations with the folks that help run the shop; it made the visit that much more lovely! I ordered a cortado with oat milk, a touch of orange flavoring with vanilla and it was really tasty! The drink was smooth; the espresso was well balanced with a macadamia tasting flare to the drink and it was yummy! Add the fact that they have a comfy nook upstairs (on top of the seating downstairs) to get some work done and you have the perfect, eclectic, sit-down spot to get work done or browse for your next 'hot ride' amongst the plethora of bikes that are on sale. 10/10 experience, and would highly recommend if you're looking to enjoy a down to earth, warm/ inviting, environment on an afternoon! read more

I happen to know one of the baristas. He is a sophisticate when it comes to java. He is well trained and well traveled when it comes to coffee. I do t know too many people that would take a trip to Italy to see if the coffee is everything it's cracked up to be. Well he did! This is not your average run of the mill coffee joint. BEST CAPPUCCINO NORTH OF THE WALL (I635). Being an espresso snob" it's hard to live so far north in McKinney. There are a couple wannabe shops that have invested a lot of money into decor and branding, but the main product is inconsistent at best. I've tried Nerdvana in FRISCO, 1418 in Plano and even Filtered in downtown McKinney...the major flaw in all of them is barista training. You can give a barista the best bean in the world and have one of the worst shots if they don't know what they are doing. So with all that, I'm happy to say that Wattage has taken a lot of pride in their training and I've had cappuccinos from several baristas all turning out in equally high quality. This is only 20 minutes from my house so I'll be a regular here all the time! HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR ESPRESSO BASED DRINKS! read more

I really enjoyed this quiet, hole-in-the-wall coffee joint. Reminds me of something you'd find in Austin. Located inside the Cadence Cyclery bike shop, it's not easy to find unless you're purposefully looking for it. The atmosphere is somehow both relaxing and cycling themed. I enjoyed my latte. The cashier said they make their vanilla and cinnamon ( I assume syrups) in house. Wifi was solid, seating was ample, outlets for laptops were plentiful, customer service was friendly. Two minor flaws...There's not a ton of really close parking. I parked near the courthouse and walked. This is downtown Mckinney though, so not Wattage's fault there. Also, the table I sat at had a clear, epoxy like coating and while it looked good, made it difficult to use an optical mouse. I had to put down a piece of paper as a mouse pad. Again, hardly a problem. I'll definitely be returning next time I'm near downtown Mckinney. Note to the owner...I discovered your shop by searching yelp for coffee places. Once I knew the approximate location, your neon coffee sign confirmed I had found it. read more

Excellent espresso! The staff is talented and super friendly. All drinks are traditional and minimalistic, putting emphasis on the flavor of the coffee itself instead of relying on lots of sugary syrups, and they're very well executed. The syrups they do have appear to be made in house, too! Seating is bright and spacious, with beautiful wood bars and big windows. Great coffee and plenty of space up stairs to hang out and work on a laptop with no pressure to move on. However, it does cause you to drink more coffee. Food is limited to scones and other pastries but they are fresh. The space has a cool vibe tucked into a high end bike shop where the employees are real friendly.
