Best kept secret in McKinney! We found this place in a Yelp search, and decided to check it out (it was only 2 miles from where we were eating lunch.) They've been in this location for going on 7 years now!!! One thing to make clear: the name is not Pacific Tradewinds as listed on Yelp. It's TexaKona Coffee Roasters. I tried an 8 oz. chai latte, while my boyfriend ordered an 8oz. latte and a sample of one of the medium roasts (can't remember which one). My chai latte was fantastic (much better than Starbucks), as was the regular latte. We also purchased a bag of the Swahili Six Gun coffee beans and have been extremely pleased with that purchase. I want a bag of the Journalist beans next! We found out that Dave (the roaster) gives tours on Saturdays, and Gregg (our barista) gives terrific recommendations on the coffee. We were happy to discover a second location will be opening soon near the old flour mill downtown and look forward to visiting that location. Before we left, Dave gave us a sample package of their special Texas pecan coffee brittle. You'll love it!!! If you are looking for a great cup of coffee, you gotta try TexaKona Coffee Roasters!

A great local shop for coffee lovers. The can grind to meet your needs and even offer small size 8oz packs. They're following all COVID precautions and have curbside as well. Great service and from people.

We've passed by this gem for years and finally decided to stop in. Glad we did! They offer unique blends and styles of coffee. The staff has been great and willing to chat with us about their coffee.

Pacific Tradewinds is our favorite coffee all around and we chose their cozy McKinney venue to host our wedding shower. The team at Pacific Tradewinds did a beautiful and simply perfect job in the set up. We had over 60 guests who enjoyed an exquisite coffee and dessert bar.Elaine and the entire team made this an extremely stress free and fun evening. One to always remember! The concept of an open coffee bar was a hit with our guests. From drips, to lattes, to flat whites, to personal tastings of their blends - our guests loved it! Connor was behind the bar showing some amazing barista skills with beautiful coffee art.

Gear coffee beans. You can always get the freshest. Their Bombay Bluebonnet pulls excellent espresso shots.

Ask the Community - TexaKona Coffee Roasters

How much seating (inside and out) do they have?

There are a couple of tables inside, and maybe a pic nic table outside. It's mainly a roastery with a few gifts and a small coffee bar. Their new location Texakona FM at the flour mill in McKinney probably has more sitting if you're looking to seat… Read more

Over priced coffee- paid $10 for a 16 oz latte- and they only offer their "in house expensive milk" which is just a sweetened whole milk. Wasn't a big deal to over pay initially for this adequate latte - BUT- when I asked the status on my drink after it being 10 minutes of being here and others getting their orders, and mind you- never hearing my name called.... The 3 snobby girls behind the counter looked at me like I was an idiot and like I was trying to scam them for a drink- while there's only 5 customers here- ummm. ??? After confirming my name, they said "they called my name". As they did not bc there was no drink present. They made snobby faced responses as I walked away to wait again for my drink - that "only took 2 minutes to make". Also, the customer before me had to ask for her missing drink. My friend and I were not sitting far from the barista counter and could here these ladies gossiping about customers and being just quite rude and snobby. Customer service here is absolutely lacking. The coffee is okay but not okay enough to be $10!!!!! The "secret garden" shown on their instagram is not accessible to customers- apparently it is only available for planned events.

The names of the food items are classic, and I can't wait to come back next time and try some of the food such as Manic Monday (egg, meat and cheese) or Down with the Swiss-ness (Ham and Cheese on a Croissant). For my personal experience today, I was looking for fresh beans. I first noticed TexKona, this is a roaster and they had great reviews and what looks to be great beans. The hours were limited, but I was lucky to see that TexaKona FM 107 Drinks and Cafe had a lot of the really cool beans from TexaKona. I walk in and the place is located in a large building. There are lots of other quaint shops, and this coffee shop looks really cool and has a great feel. The young lady behind the counter greeted me with a smile. I told her I was looking for beans and she began explaining the different beans they have there. She even offered to make shots so I can sample the beans. While I didn't take her up on trying shots, I did take her advice on what beans to buy, and for my first trip, I purchased two bags of Journalist Blend. I'll sit on these beans for 2-3 days since I'm just now finishing my last bag of existing coffee, but I look forward to dialing in these beans. Back to TexaKona. The place is clean, very cool look, and they provide incredible service. I will return, and I will bring the wife!

You can tell the owner and the baristas genuinely care about what they do and take pride in serving the community. Their coffee is some of the best around, and they've got a great variety of drinks that are both creative and consistently delicious. Whether you're grabbing a quick coffee or trying one of their specialty drinks, everything is made fresh and tastes amazing. The atmosphere is welcoming, clean, and exactly what you'd hope for from a hometown coffee shop. I've seen a few negative reviews, but my experiences have been completely different. Mistakes can happen anywhere, especially when custom coffee orders are involved, and clear communication goes both ways. What stands out to me is the effort this team puts into their work every single day. They work hard, stay busy, and still manage to provide friendly service and excellent drinks. Small businesses deserve our support, especially when they consistently deliver a great product and treat their customers well. I'll happily continue coming here and recommending this coffee shop to friends and family. If you're looking for high-quality coffee, friendly people, and a place that truly cares about its customers and community, you won't be disappointed.

It had no espresso and no cold foam, even though the menu lists cold foam as part of the drink. We went back hoping they would simply remake it correctly, but instead we were met with some of the worst customer service I've experienced. Rather than apologizing or trying to make it right, the baristas insisted my husband "didn't say dirty" and then told us we had to specifically ask for the cold foam, even though it's advertised as being included. To top it off, they charged us an additional $3+ for the cold foam and 1 shot of espresso. A drink that was already around $7 ended up costing over $10 just to receive what the menu originally described. Mistakes happen, and I completely understand that. What I don't understand is the lack of accountability and the unwillingness to provide good customer service. A simple apology and a willingness to fix the mistake would have gone a long way. I wanted to support, but after this experience, I won't be back.
