The experience I had there was, eh. The staff was nice, but it did take a little longer than I would want. I ordered a Peppermint Mocha, which had almost no flavor besides the water downed coffee (hot.) I also ordered a Turkey Bacon, Cheddar, and Egg White Sandwich to see how their food was, and that was all the same texture and was very bland. The most prominent flavor was the Egg White! Maybe the other food options are better. It was very nice in there though, the music they were playing was pretty good. read more

Make orders at random. 8 baristas working and I placed a mobile order with a promise of my order being ready in 4-7 minutes per app. Staff cannot handle the rush and I had to wait over 10 minutes after arriving to the store. When this location first opened, I avoided it after my drinks were made incorrectly. However, I have seen some baristas from the Southlake mall location working here and the drinks have improved drastically. Sometimes they run out of bakery items and the baristas aren't outgoing; but overall this is still a solid Starbucks location. read more

I use the app to order so I can rack up points then just go straight to the pickup line, the Strawberry Açaí lemonade and Pineapple lemonade are good so I definitely had to tip them for there hard work cause like usual Starbucks drive through lines be so busy they don't always have time to greet the customers and that's definitely understandable big salute to the staff at this location for there great service. read more

I enjoy getting Starbucks 1-2 times a week. This Starbucks near Merrillville Meijers was not great. My hot caramel macchiato had no flavor, it did not even taste like coffee (not sure if it was watered down). I told the barrista hoping to get it fixed but instead they proceeded to explain how the coffee drink is made. Did not offer any suggestions to fix it or make it better. I know what good coffee is. When I choose to order Starbucks I expect it to be good. Also, the cappuccino I ordered for a friend was filled less than 3/4 of the way and from what I see in other reviews that is an issue not just today. I personally haven't had a problem with customer service. I like their cake pop's they make, and their breakfast biscuit. However, I do seem to have a question with the pricing. I buy cake pops every once in a while and the price will seem to either go up or drop down. I used to pay $1.94 and all of a sudden it went to about $2.10 .. even though it is only a few cent's up. It's like I know the price, or so I think. I bring the money I need for however many cake pops I would like and then all of a sudden the price is way higher. It kind've throws me off. Otherwise great opportunity to study, and do homework. Nice people.. I guess. I've never sat down at the outdoor area but I am sure it is lovely, and that is about it. read more

First time here at the newly-opened Starbucks near Meijer Store and Art Hill Ford in Merrillville. Staff was very friendly as well as knowledgeable about all of the drinks available and how to make them; which means...they were very-welled trained! Not like some of the other new Starbucks cafes where the baristas were as unaware of what their own menu was as a new born baby in a third world country! I tested their knowledge and skills and all three passed the test with flying colors! Thanks for great first impression and experience (Brian, Julia, Savannah)! Keep this store running well, just as you have begun! Will be coming here often! If I could give zero stars I would. Terrible!!! They close their dining room stating that they are "short staffed" with 3-4 associates inside. The Manager does not care and is unapologetic to the people waiting in line 15 cars deep for a mobile order. Manager needs upgraded. read more

This Starbucks is on my commute to work, so I was excited when they opened, but every single time I visit I waste at least 10 minutes in the drive thru line. Ordered a coffee and a scone on 11/7/20. They forgot to take the scone out of the plastic bag before putting it in the paper bag. The customer service is lacking. I waited for over ten minutes with a fussy toddler to get a mobile order only to finally ask if it had gone through and learn that the mobile orders are weirdly placed between espresso machines. All other Starbucks call out mobile orders when they're finished. And at least two employees saw me standing there for many minutes clearly waiting for a drink and never considered asking me if I needed help. What a frustrating experience. read more

Newly opened and I hoped it would be better. I'm noticing with some of the Starbucks stores the taste consistency is off. This one and a few others taste watery. The one off of Southlake Mall is best, stronger, true tasting coffee and best baristas making them. The others, my full drink go to the trash! I go to Starbucks very often to do my hw or some work. Yesterday I went to this particular location because it was the closest to me. I walked in after work and was wearing a volleyball shirt and had a whistle with me since I was reffing at work. The cashier looked at me judgmentally and took my order, after that she kept looking over at my table once in a while and giving me a strange look. Then my boyfriend showed up and he set next to me and put his head on my lap because he was exhausted. We were just talking and nothing else. We were both dressed appropriately, we weren't kissing or anything, just talking. After a couple minutes, the same cashier came up to us and said that this is inappropriate and that he needs to sit up or leave. Mind you there were 3 other customers and not one of them said anything, they were all minding their own business. So is it illegal for couples to talk at Starbucks, because the way she addressed the "issue" was not nice and that made me never want to come back to this location. read more
