I love this Starbucks! It's almost always a stop on my way home from NYC. For some reason - the iced coffee is freakin' delicious & tastes stronger. The staff is always SO friendly. I don't think I've ever been here without using the restroom as it's usually my first & only stop - & it's always been very clean. Also, this is a drive-thru location, in case you want that. I've never personally been through, but it's available. The staff handles juggling both very well. read more

Went through drive thru and got a double shot of espresso and a venti hot Americano with cream. We jumped off of Route 1 on a road trip to grab some coffee. Service was great. No line at all. Drinks? One was perfect. The other... no cream. Boooooo!! Again, on. Road trip so no place near home. Guess this will be thrown in fridge when we get home for use tomorrow. Ugh! it should not take over 20 min to make a drink when there is no line in the drive thru and only one other person in the store. I have consistently had to wait ridiculous amounts of time for drinks I've ordered ahead of time, over and over in the past couple of months At this location. My experience was a solid 6/10. All I heard the employees talk about was how they close in an hour and how customers need to stop getting in line. How are we supposed to know they close at six if there are no signs stating that except at the register? My coffee was also 65% full and after asking them about it they stated it was the foam that settled. I opened the lid and it looked like someone drank from it. I came to this Starbucks on Saturday around 5:30 pm on the way home from our road trip. I was the only customer at the time when I ordered. They were 5 employees and none of them made my drink till almost 10 min waiting. I had to ask what happened to my drink and this girl told me someone's gonna make my drink soon. Terrible service. Waited 15 minutes after I placed order. No one in store yet drive through receiving drinks before us. Once we finally got our drinks one had no flavor and only 3/4 filled. I am at this Starbucks nearly everyday. It's generally a good experience unless I order a brown sugar oat milk shaken espresso. I'm not sure how you do it, but every time I order this it is undrinkable. Unfortunately it's my favorite drink and so I often drive to the other Middletown Starbucks to get it. So disappointing. We arrived in the drive through around 12. We ordered four coffees. After we arrive to the window we are informed that our order is around thirty dollars. Drive through attendant then says sorry we cant break $100. We then pay another way, get our coffee and none of them have topping on it. My coffee is wrong. Tastes like milk. Not a quad latte. The drive through attendant then brings a shaker of topping to the window and says I can add more. She then opens all of the coffees in the window adds topping. Now my coffee is cold and wrong. Excellent customer service. Every time I go there my drinks are exceptional. The locations is hidden making it hard to find. I would recommend trying the caramel frappuccino and the ice coffee (the best here). We come here all the way from Dover, DE because the only option we have is at Safeway Supermarket and it doesn't compare. read more

I was at the Middletown, DE Starbucks on July 17th at about 5pm. One middle-aged woman was very condescending to a male employee and he handled himself very professionally and patiently. The young woman who cleaned the restroom and swept the store floor was incredibly thorough and moved chairs, replaced chairs that were in the wrong place and let me know she was moving a chair nearby back to my table. I appreciated her thoughtfulness of not just grabbing a chair and putting it near me. Very polite. Three teen females were rude to a teen employee who was very friendly and called one girl by name. She continued to do her job with a smile and as efficient. The employee who was providing training to the new employee was very nice and helpful to the trainee as well as customers. read more

Great customer service, and quality crafted brews. However, I don't think they clean their drip coffee conatiners at this location. I've had multiple coffees taste off, old, or downright rancid. Since I'm on the road and I sometimes forget to taste the cup before leaving, I have to dump the whole cup. read more

This will be a long review so I apologize in advance. I rated this Starbucks one star because I have never been spoken to more rudely than when I went in to buy coffee.... Here is my experience. I absolutely love Starbucks and go there quiet frequently. I have 6 concussions, 5 within the last 4 years. With my latest one I began suffering from horrendous migraines every time it would storm. I found that coffee is the only thing that would offer me any relief. Anyway! There was a terrible storm the other night and I realized Starbucks was closing soon, so I called 10 minutes ahead and asked if they would be willing to take my order, I was expecting the answer to be no but it was worth a shot. The woman who answered was clearly annoyed but said she would take my order anyway, though she mentioned their closing time three times in the short conversation I had with her over the phone. I arrived at the store at 9:02. Two minutes after they closed. She was waiting at the door for me and this is how the interaction went ... Me: "thank you so much for doing this I apologize for being such an inconvenience I just really needed the coffee" Her: "We will not be doing this again!" Me:"I understand ma'am I really do appreciate it" Younger girl sweeping behind the counter: "it's okay! :)" * I have cash ready and promptly pay for my drink* Her:" no it is not its unacceptable" Me:" ma'am I apologize again I truly appreciate this" Her:* angrily locks door behind me* ... I really was grateful that they let buy coffee 2 minutes after they closed. However I would have rather the woman told me "no" over the phone than be verbally put down the whole minute I was in the store. I have worked in the food industry and have waited 30 minutes after work to give someone their food, but I have never in my life been so out right rude to a customer. I understand that people have bad days and want to go home, but that is no reason to be openly mean to someone. If I was such a huge inconvenience then she could have told me "no I'm sorry we're closed" over the phone. read more

Let's talk about how this used to be my favorite store, seriously, I live closer to Kirkwood and would try to come down here as often as I could to have the old crew make me drinks. But over the last several years the staff has gone downhill. They just don't care. They are rude and often too busy talking to each other to care about what the customer wants or needs. I miss the personal connection and third place feel that used to be there when the old baristas were there. (Cathy, Heather, Steve, and Kim - if you ever see this, you are sorely missed. And I'm thankful that Jim is still there). Anyway. Get more personable baristas that don't boss each other around and actually care about their customers and maybe I'll change my review.
