I was checking the longitudes of both places, and the Easton restaurant was slightly east of this Rising Sun coffee shop. As it turns out and amazing coincidence, I just wrote my 2 most eastern Yelp reviews in the state of MD. Never had one further east of these locations in MD like in Elkton, Ocean City, Salisbury, etc. I visited Rise N Grind Cafe on a Friday in September 2022. I was going up to Newark, DE to visit my parents for a night at a hotel for a mushroom festival in Kennett Township on that Saturday. I managed to get a parallel parking right in front of the store in the small downtown Rising Sun. I wifi at this cute coffee shop as I had some work on that Friday. I had a delicious coffee, and I think a tuna salad sandwich, which was delicious. The staff was friendly too, and they were efficient. I comfortably got my work done. Unfortunately, I didn't take a pic of my food, but I took pics of other aspects of the cafe itself. If I ever end up back in Rising Sun, I'd come back here!

It was just me, so I only got half a dozen donuts with a knife so I could taste them all! I tried: Cookies & Cream, Salted Caramel, Maple Bacon, Toasted Coconut, Chai, and Fluffernuter. Let me start by saying the cake part of these donuts is just perfect. Not too dense, lightly crisp on the outside, and insanely fresh. The toppings might sound over the top, but they weren't. They were perfectly subtle to add a hint of flavor without a dose of diabetes. And the coffee- such unique lattes both in name and flavors. I went with Davy Joey's Locker with an extra shot of espresso. So good. Not overly sweet and not bitter at all. And then I just had to try the cute little pistachio cannoli. Shell was filled upon ordering, so the shell was nice and crispy. Now this was super sweet, but I haven't met a cannoli yet that wasn't! Barista was friendly & bubbly and patient when it took me some time to pick my 6 donuts. Basic tables and chairs with some bench seating along the window. Pillows & chairs could use a refresh, as well as the bathroom, looking a bit worn & dingy, but that's literally the only negative thing about this place.

They are redoing the street so it is currently blocked off. Even if you park on a different street, it isn't a problem to walk to the coffee shop. You can appreciate the historic charm from your first step in. They have a coffee bar with tables, as well as an extended side that has ample seating and table. It is a very inviting space where you can sit for a spell and enjoy your coffee or work. It's also a fabulous spot to sit with fiends to catch up. They do sell local art and other cute finds throughout their lovely shop. They do have a little area outside that you can sit as well. And even a bench area beside the building. The staff is lovely. Super friendly and very efficient at allowing you to get your order quickly. There is an interactive post it display while waiting for your order. The drinks were fantastic and the menu is extensive. The Americano was absolutely delicious!! Tons of syrup options and various creamer options. The bakery options are delicious and they even have gluten free. They do have a cold case of drink options and even local ice cream. For sure worth a stop if you are in the area. I would even go out of your way to visit this gem of a place. The ambience is clean and casual and the large windows bring in plenty of natural lighting. The "healthy start" platter may be named with tongue-in-cheek as it features two generously thick and smoky slices of bacon and two eggs but the grilled mushrooms, avocado, and roasted potatoes made for an awesome brunch! Their giant pancakes are probably the best any restaurant can offer - better than many so-called "pancake houses." A stack of three is probably more than anyone can finish! The chipotle chicken panini was also more than I could eat at one sitting, the serving was so generous. This is not "fast food." Everything is cooked to order and is brought to the table when it is ready, so everyone may not be eating at the same moment, but everyone will be served a fresh dish, not one sitting under a heat lamp for 10 minutes while the rest of the order is finished. When we arrived at the restaurant, they had just received a large delivery of fresh produce that had yet to be stocked and I have to tell you that Flowers is ordering some high quality produce to serve its customers.

If my husband and I like the coffee, we will purchase whole beans for our coffee maker. Today, we tried two different blends of coffee, and they were excellent- we bought a bag. It was clean on the inside, and the service was friendly. I am glad that we traveled to Oxford today, and found a coffee place that rivals our favorite places in Philadelphia.
