I love this Starbucks. I've been going here almost everyday for like 2 1/2 years. I used to stop at the one in Utica and I'm so thankful for this one. Train wreck just about sums it up. I'm thinking they really weren't ready for their opening. Construction took a painfully long time - which is why I suspect they pushed to open even though they clearly weren't ready. Lines are long, service is slow...like REALLY slow, and even though it's new - it's not kept up like a new store. Our first visit was interesting since we opted to go inside since the drive through line was very long. However they told us that their POS (I think this meant point if sale, although they never explained what POS meant) wasn't working so we would have to order and pay on the app and then could pick up our drinks. Really?!?! C'mon SBux - you just opened and you can't get it right?? We gave them another try and it was once again disastrous. Super long wait with only a few people in line and I used one of the grossest bathrooms I've ever seen at a restaurant in my life. And it wasn't only the bathrooms; the floors aren't clean (they're sticky), the windows are gross, the counter was nasty. This is an epically bad location. Worst I've ever been to. They also have a limited selection of available menu items, which is baffling since I would think you'd be ready for their opening. ‍ It's a disappointment in nearly every way. If I could give a .5 star rating I would - it's that bad. I don't think they'll make it in Rome, NY if they don't right the ship quickly. Horrible service and extremely slow. They do not know how to prioritize customers in correct order. Also not very friendly

I wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt, since they just opened recently. This was just one of time out of many that they just can't get it done. My order has NEVER been right, and I go almost every day. They are always out of everything. The wait time is sometimes over a half hour and even then your stuff is melted and has to be remade. I keep saying I'll give it another chance and I think today was the last straw. They were out of venti cups today, gave me this cup but filled it almost all the way with ice then only filled the cup with half the product since it was a "Larger cup". It was gone in 2 sips (and it was made wrong). My phone order was also out of stock so I had to change my feta wrap to a sandwich. It was thrown in a bag and a mess when I got it. I'm tired of having to go in and have them redo things because I know they are stressing out, but this place is WAY TO EXPENSIVE for them to be making mistakes every time. read more

Staff is very friendly and I never had a problem with any of my drinks. Ask for Chase he is a very good barista with a wonderful demeanor.

The architects did a terrible job designing this building. Did they understand we have freezing winters here? The building is designed like a Florida Starbucks. There are two massive double doors on each side of this tiny building, they are just single doors, so when they are opened a massive draft blows into the entire building, when it gets busy it's awful. Can't sit and eat/drink in the winter because it's always frigid in there. They also don't have any outlet plugs which means they don't want you there very long. read more

New Year & felt they deserved a bit of positive at this point!! Yes they were a horror show when they 1st opened so I completely understand all the negative!!! However they have wonderful management now & they have really stepped it up!!! Their Rome team is a wonderful add toStarbucks!! I travel all over the country - I have gone to 100's of Starbucks. You will find the same quality at this Starbucks as you do the majority of others. In fact they are leagues above the New Hartford store & they have been open far longer!!! Very disappointed with our experience. We had gone in hopes to order hot chocolate for our littles to drink for after the park. We had said At least 4 times "hot chocolate" and had a $23 bill which seemed a bit much but we had not been for a few years so we just figured prices went up along with everything else. We waited nearly 30 minutes to try them as their Hot chocolate usually Took a bit to cool down for our littles. it was then that we had realized that we were given coffee instead of hot chocolate. Very upset as the kids were looking forward to it. We would have went back to try to get our correct order but it just wasn't worth the time we'd be taking from our little ones park time to do so. If you go we just recommend completely repeating your order before they have you pay and checking your cups to see what labels they had put on. Just a bit annoyed with our experience. read more
