Visited diner on Friday evening 3/6 at 5pm with a party of 8. Of those, 6 ordered various deep fried seafood dinners. When meal was served it was obvious seafood was cooked in old grease or grease was too hot. Either way meals were not very pleasant. One member of our party did not eat the meal. My partner and I have been to Boulevard multiple times, and each visit has involved slow service and mediocre food. Despite this, we decided to give it one last chance. When we arrived for breakfast, there were already three or four parties waiting ahead of us. After we got in line, another couple walked in. The woman went straight to the front of the line while the man spoke to us in a rude, confrontational way about whether we had checked in. When the hostess finally returned several minutes later, the woman seated herself in the restaurant. When we pointed out that we had been waiting longer, the hostess dismissively said, "They're just going to the bar," and continued to give us an attitude when we asked how long the wait would be. We will not be returning to Boulevard. Ive been here with my partner a few times and the service has always been slow and the food a 6/10. With that said, we figured we'd give them a chance. While my partner was in line this couple walks in: Husband to wife- you know the drill just go up to the desk and ask to be seated. She blows past the giant line of people waiting and they are immediately seated by the hostess at the bar, even though we were the next 2 in line. The hostess says very rudely and I quote "well they wanted the bar and there will be a 15 minute wait" We chose to go elsewhere and she muttered a homophobic slur. Some friends from church took me to this diner for breakfast this for my birthday. I found the corner of a plastic bag in my potatoes. I brought it to the attention of the waitress and SHE PUT HER FINGERS ON MY PLATE and removed the piece of plastic. It was very disgusting, and I was not finished eating. When the check came we looked to see if there was a discount for a foreign object in the food. There was not. When the waitress came back to get payment I tried to ask her why there was no discount and she quickly turned her back and kept walking even though I kept calling after her. Food is OK and restaurant is spotless but the pricing here is insane. I ordered a sandwich with chips and a pickle. Asked to substitute chips for fries. Was told they would charge me for an order of fries. OK most restaurants a side of fries is a couple of dollars unless it is a fancy restaurant. To pay more for fries than my sandwich and pickle is unbelievable. This was a substitution even so I did not get chips that would have come with sandwich. Open face Turkey was processed Turkey with very little gravy and cost over 17.00 dollars with an up charge for extra gravy. Nothing outstanding or excellent about the food to spend almost $40 for two sandwiches. Won't be back. We go out to lunch at many diner like establishments on weekends on a regular basis. Boulevard Diner is a staple for us. My brother in law, sister, and I come here for lunch and the service is always great. We got seated immediately even when they were busy and staff was great. They continuously check up on you and ask whatever you need. Food is always amazing here, I got the Italiano Panini and each bite is amazing. Had a delicious breakfast this weekend with a girlfriend here! The place was packed but we were seated quickly and the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. Facility is clean, well lit, spacious, and well staffed. Booths can fit around 4-6 people comfortably. The food took a bit to come out but it was piping hot when it did so it's apparent that the time was taken to make the food to order. Plus each entree had an appetizer (soup or salad), which came out right away, in addition to rolls (in chicken pot pie pic) so that helped with the wait. Everything tasted good but wasn't life changingly delicious, which was good by us especially because the portions were reasonable in relation to prices. I got steak and eggs and although the steak could have used a bit more seasoning they cooked it perfectly. They also cook eggs really well.
