On July 24th, I purchased a large hot coffee from this location and suffered severe burns to my left hand from the coffee and the cup. I am a 3rd- and 4th-degree burn victim, so I take this situation extremely seriously. What has been most upsetting, beyond the physical pain and recovery, is the complete lack of compassion and concern I have experienced. There was no apology, no offer to help with medical expenses or the time I have had to take off, and no meaningful attempt to see how I was doing. I called Shannon Gregory, the owner, several times and received no response. Eventually, corporate contacted me, but I was disappointed by the lack of genuine concern there as well. Weeks later, I finally received a call from Logan Gregory. His response was essentially, "Yeah, what do you need? I was told by corporate to call you." There was no apology, no acknowledgment of what I had been through, and no sincere effort to ask what they could do to help as the franchise owners. Nothing. I am sharing my experience because I don't want anyone else to go through what I have experienced. A serious burn can affect your health, your ability to work, your daily life, and your finances. I believe that when something this serious happens, the least a customer should receive is compassion, accountability, and genuine concern. Please share this and consider my experience before patronizing this company or this location.

One of my favorite memories from visiting Perq for many years: I once grabbed a few coffees and pastries to bring to a friend. I accident left a muffin behind. The owner took the time to track me down and send a message over social media letting me know they think I left it behind and they'd hold it for me or I could have a credit towards a future visit. Unreal. If you have visited Perq before you know there was likely a line yet the owners took note of this and took the time to go above and beyond. When I pulled up, I realized parking was going to be an issue. Your only option is street parking in a very busy part of town. They have plenty of spots in the back, but they are reserved for employees only. All but one of the employee spots were available. After circling the block a few times, I was able to park a block away on the street. When I walked in, I mentioned I was picking up food but I also wanted to order a coffee. The man at the counter rudely told me that I had to pick up my food at the counter in the back. When I asked if they had nonfat milk, I was again met with an attitude and he said "we only have local milk and three dairy alternatives." It was very clear that I wasn't being respected because I wasn't a local. Imagine my surprise when a small/medium sized latte, with no syrup, was $9.10. Absolute highway robbery for an average latte. For food, I ordered an avocado toast with shaved egg. I had a much better experience interacting with the woman at the food window. She was incredibly kind, made an effort to talk to me and my food was ready 20 minutes early. It was good and fresh, but I now know that I'm not a fan of the texture of shaved eggs. I'm in Sarasota a few times a year and I will absolutely not be going back.

They didn't show any annoyance though and happily took our orders. We ordered one strawberry banana and one piña colada smoothie. The piña colada one was kind of crazy. I don't know what they put in that but it literally taste like the real thing. It was perfect in the heat. We also ordered a caramel mocha iced coffee and a strawberry matcha. They were honestly both very good. The employees got our drinks out very fast and they even gave us some great recommendations of things to check out!
