It was about a year…read moreago in June 2025 my girlfriend & I visited this cute coffee shop at the Queenstown Outlet Mall. We were on the way to my friend's annual get together every year in late June at her family's eastern shore house near St. Michael's. Unfortunately, 2025 was the worst year for the trip for various reasons since I started going in 2016. My girlfriend drove us out there. I was done with my 1st week of chemo on that Friday. Of course traffic is horrible coming from Howard County (oncology office) on a Friday in the summer in the early afternoon. We got across the Bay Bridge, and I was monitoring traffic saying there was a major delay due to an accident just past Queenstown Outlet Mall. I suggested stopping to WiFi and get some coffee since we were both tired. Staff was friendly. Prices were pretty reasonable compared with most places in the DC-Baltimore area. I got some coffee drink, perhaps a dirty iced chai. Wow, this coffee shop beats almost any other in the BAWA area. I connected to their WiFi for maybe an hour to check my Fantasy baseball, emails, etc. But I was upset because I left my computer charger at the chemo chair. Traffic cleared up decently enough, and we left to go to Walmart in Easton to get a universal charger for my laptop. Unfortunately, my g/f car died in Easton, had to have towed to Annapolis, which was the start of what ended up being a bad weekend. Thankfully, my 3 rounds of chemo was a success. This annual trip in 2026 is almost guaranteed to be better. I'll need to revisit A Little Lovely Coffee House again, but this year's trip the timing will be too late.

We made it there on our second day and it's clear that this seems to be a favorite to both locals and visitors. The term "smoothie" threw me off but I discovered from a fellow patron that it's simply a frozen blended coffee and they order it all the time. Loved checking out the outdoor seating options as well as the bar that shares the same local, Mary and Margs (SUCH a great name). Since we came in later in the morning/early afternoon, there were already quite a few people flocking to the barstools, ordering espresso martinis, which looked divine. I have to say that my coffee was delightful, you can tell that the beans were freshly ground and the extra shot of espresso really did the trick for me. The frozen matcha was delicious, 10/10, no notes! Would definitely get that again and would try the coffee smoothie next time. I ate my entire breakfast sandwich because I was starving but was expecting a lot more. The homemade biscuit is what intrigued me the most but I think I've been spoiled with some really amazing housemaid biscuit sandwiches back home so this one really fell short for me; it was kind of hard, a little burnt. On my ride down to Virginia to visit family, I saw Rise Up Coffee and figured it's worth a shot. The shop is very nice. Modern and clean. Staff was friendly. The worker made a nice recommendation of a cinammon scone. She also freshly ground coffee for my double shot of espresso. The scone ended up being very good. Not one of those dry and crumbly scones, nice and tender. The espresso itself was awesome! There was depth of flavor to it, not just a strong cup of coffee, it had some complexity. Well worth the stop!
