When we walked in, there was an off putting smell, not sure if was due to the bathrooms being right there, nonetheless it was off putting. Clearly a super popular spot, but the coffee lives up to the hype. As we drove into Rehoboth Beach this coffee shop's distinct black and white exterior really called to my coffee-lover self, and I instantly made sure to flag it as one of the spots I would want to grab coffee during our stay. We made it there on our second day and it's clear that this seems to be a favorite to both locals and visitors. Upon arriving, it was pretty difficult to find parking as all of the spots were taken, so we quickly located a spot on the residential street nearby. Walking in, the line was almost to the front door, but I didn't mind as it gave me plenty of time to peruse the menu for coffee and breakfast options. I loved seeing the coffee beans available for purchase as well as some of their merchandise on my way to the counter, in addition to admiring the hand-painted murals and so many cool seating options. The tables have really beautiful woodworking, many of which have raw edges which add a lot of personality. Order up! I opted for an iced latte with an extra shot of espresso (because I definitely needed an energy boost that day) and coconut flavoring, frozen matcha, the breakfast sandwich, and a glazed doughnut. I was really intrigued by the coffee smoothie which was featured and highlighted in multiple spaces. The term "smoothie" threw me off but I discovered from a fellow patron that it's simply a frozen blended coffee and they order it all the time. Loved checking out the outdoor seating options as well as the bar that shares the same local, Mary and Margs (SUCH a great name). Since we came in later in the morning/early afternoon, there were already quite a few people flocking to the barstools, ordering espresso martinis, which looked divine. I have to say that my coffee was delightful, you can tell that the beans were freshly ground and the extra shot of espresso really did the trick for me. The frozen matcha was delicious, 10/10, no notes! Would definitely get that again and would try the coffee smoothie next time. I ate my entire breakfast sandwich because I was starving but was expecting a lot more. The homemade biscuit is what intrigued me the most but I think I've been spoiled with some really amazing housemaid biscuit sandwiches back home so this one really fell short for me; it was kind of hard, a little burnt. All in all, this is a really cute, trendy spot, which seems to attract people of all ages with a very robust menu from morning to evening. I stopped in this Saturday morning for a coffee and a breakfast sandwich and was very disappointed. The place is relaxed, coastal, and casual. The line wasn't out the door, but it was busy. I ordered a chai latte and the Rise Up breakfast burrito. My burrito came out in about 10 minutes, but my chai latte took 30 minutes. I understand it's peak season at a beach resort and staffing can be a challenge, but if an establishment cannot provide reasonable timing for orders, they should limit the number of customers they take at once. They continued accepting orders despite clearly being unable to keep up. The gentleman behind me waited 25 minutes with his wife and three children before leaving after paying because he said the wait was "insane," and I agree. For $17.25 for a coffee and a breakfast burrito, the experience was not worth it. Highly recommend avoiding this location during the season. Very disappointed. They can do better. read more

I visited Rise Up on Memorial Day Weekend, so they were absolutely packed and had a line out the door. I waited ~45 min from getting on line to getting my food and drink. Things I liked: - their ample selection of breakfast burritos and ready-to-eat food like protein bars and pastries. I got their vegan breakfast burrito (the Happy Cow) which was basically a tofu scramble in a burrito. It was good and satiating! - my cappuccino with oat milk was good. I don't know why they offer three different sizes for cappuccinos though. Areas for improvement: - I really felt bad for their staff because of how crazy it was. They had enough people working (although another person on the register would be nice) but having paper tickets is a little archaic and slow. - They heavily promote mobile ordering, but as other reviewers have noted, mobile orders are in a totally different queue. I would've placed my order online but the wait time was two or three hours! They don't let you set a pickup time, so it seemed wildly unpredictable. - why is the menu SO long? You don't need to make everyone happy! It's a cute spot and, were it not so packed, I would've spent time there. There's plenty of seating for larger groups. read more

As the only real coffee shop in the area, this place is VERY crowded (in late June, anyway). The vibe is cool but the service is quite slow, resulting in a wait for coffee of 30-45 minutes. The coffee is decent, but the drink menu seems to prioritize flavors and sweetness, so coffee purists may not be pleased. The espresso itself is on the weaker side. A dirty chai latte that I had was also watery, The fresh, delicious breakfast menu is perhaps more worth the wait, though, and do try the hot sauce. read more

Yep... still a massive fan of this little gem! Always visit when in town. Just an awesome coffee shop with lots of options and fantastic food. Got coffee, Americano and a double shot of espresso over ice (to add a protein shake to). Also got the Local burrito and the Local bowl. Lots of options for wraps or bowls. Avocado toast and açaí bowls. They also have bakery selections (not made in house but still good). There's an indoor and outdoor seating area. Not tons of parking. Typical coffee shop vibe. Great coffee and burritos, but can probably work on the timing and order ahead. Definitely try the frozen coffee smoothie - I suggest looking at how to order with the online menu, even if you're in person, to see all the options they have. You can get it sugar free! I love the sunset burrito w/ tater tots in it! The chorizo is spicy so you may not need hot sauce but definitely try them! The issue is with their order ahead. I ordered the smoothie and a burrito at 9am online and it put my pickup time at 10, and I was there at 9:15. The smoothie was ready (for who knows how long... and what if I waited until 10?!) and the burrito ready at 9:30. My smoothie was melted and I asked them to remake it, which they did but I didn't love wasting the original. I am glad it was ready early but with egg based foods, you really want it hot, and with frozen foods, you really want it cold! tldr: If you at all value your time and/or decent food, do not go here. I don't like writing reviews, but this place is absolute trash and people need to be aware of what they are getting into here. I made the mistake of coming here twice. Lost 3 hours of my life waiting for the most mediocre food and incorrect coffee orders. Day 1: we wait in line for about an hour just to get coffee (we thought the line was moving and it stopped then felt like we already committed too much time to just leave). We ordered 2 nitro cold brews with sweat cream foam... 20 min later when we get our order, it's just cold Brew coffee on ice (not even nitro cold Brew). Day 2: We try to plan ahead and put a breakfast and coffee order in early to pick up for to go... Big mistake. After ordering I see on the order tracker that the order is estimated to be ready for pickup in 2 hours!!! Are you kidding me?! So, I call and ask if that was a mistake and the girl on the phone says "no it should only take 45 min" ("only" lmao). Guess what actually happened? It took LONGER than 2 hours. Then the breakfast burritos we got were bland and small. Coffee was also equivalent to McDonald's ice coffee. Never again will I make the mistake of walking into this establishment. read more

My family and I came to Rise Up Coffee Roasters on a Saturday morning during our trip to Rehoboth Beach. Parking is a nightmare, but we were lucky enough to grab a spot. The line was out the door, but plenty of seating was still available inside. We grabbed a table, ordered on our phones and hung out while waiting for confirmation that our order was complete. I ordered Bacon, Eggs and Cheese with a side order of Tater Tots. The Bacon was cooked to a crisp, just how I like it. The Cheese was cold and sprinkled on top, I would've liked it better if the Cheese was melted into the Eggs. The Green Onions chopped into the Tater Tots was awkward and really just sprinkled into the box to add some color as a garnish. The food was not terrible and it was not amazing, just average. Wow! I'm so amazed with this place. As someone from Maryland you don't often see coffee and a bar! Walking in here we went ahead, ordered our coffee and sandwiches. Went around the corner for pick up to take our food to go. Next thing you know right in front of me is just heaven. A bar, in a coffee shop. Maybe I'm just overreacting but to me that's a major plus. Our coffee drinks were delicious. Fresh hot coffee. Our sandwiches, spectacular. Packed in with so much flavor and their sauce variety definitely brings the heat. Rise Up is a staple on the Eastern Shore and for good reason. The food and coffee is consistently good, in my opinion. We actually were trying to go to Egg next door for breakfast but it was closed for whatever reason. We were happy to see Rise Up and walked over for a bite. Rise Up is always kinda packed it seems regardless of the time of day or the location. The wait was about 20 minutes for food but the wait time was accurate and everything came out correctly. I got the acai berry bowl, some scrambled eggs, and a latte. The acai bowl was good - not the best I've had but definitely better than a lot of smoothie bowl chains. It also came with soy free and gluten free granola which was really delicious and crunchy - definitely a plus! The scrambled eggs were... eggs. Definitely needed some salt and pepper and would've taken some hot sauce if I could find some. The latte was also good. Not exceptional in any way but certainly not bad. My friends seemed happy with their food too! The inside is clean with lots of interesting murals on the walls. The staff was pleasant and tried their best to keep up with the line. This location also has a bar which was pretty cool to see. The bloody mary looked especially decadent judging by the illustration on the wall.
