The Starbucks on Northwest Richmond Beach Road in Shoreline was our go-to Starbucks when I was growing up. When we visited my grandparents in Oak Harbor, we would always stop and my parents would get some coffee for the road. My dad was the drip coffee guy, my mom the vanilla latte lady, and my sister the caramel macchiato and baked goods girl. I got the frappuccinos a few times before being told I needed to lose weight by doctors (unrelated to the beverages). After that, when we stopped I decided to get nothing or maybe some fruit, helped greatly with my waistline. While I was a runner and competed in multiple sports, my sister had a fast metabolism, could eat and drink whatever she wanted, not exercise and not gain weight. My approach, however, saved more money in the long run. Workers were typically in good moods, though the interior could get quite crowded and the line temperament largely depended on the people, and the mood of those people, in line. I really wanted Richmond Beach Coffee to be my new neighborhood beverage destination, but alas my hopes were dashed (but that is a review for another day). Instead, the crew of the Richmond Beach Starbucks make this chain store feel personable and welcoming. They are a great group of people who are genuinely friendly and sweet and make darn good drinks. They are efficient and professional on top of it all so sometimes big business is the better business! read more

Yesterday, I was a space cadet on auto pilot. Drove past where The Homie and I originally intended to grab breakfast. Ended up doing a U turn around his school to the Richmond Beach Starbucks. During my first visit at this location (3/8/17) reloaded our cards, placed our orders, and despite the crowds, we were in/out in record time to get him to school. Amazement how these folks are in total synch demonstrating sheer efficiency, plus very pleasant with genuine smiles. Great way to start one's day! read more

I have been to a lot of Starbucks but this one has the best customer service and fastest service I have ever experienced.. Came around 330 pm on a Tuesday.. Full of people and a lot of high school students.. The staff really worked well together to take orders and for once they apologized for the wait with a smile on their face, even though there wasn't much of a wait.. After paying and about 8 people ahead of me my drink was still ready in less then 5 minutes.. I am from Richmond Beach born and raised and happy to see my hometown Starbucks has it together so well!! It's the little things that matter. While this Starbucks isn't the closest to my house or exactly on the way to work, it's by far the best in terms of ambience and customer focus. I'm constantly amazed at the entire staff's desire to set themselves apart from all the other Starbucks all around the Seattle area. For example, they make a conscience effort to remember you by name. Order a few times from the mobile app and they've got you covered. Sure, it may sound like a small thing, but when you're selling the same menu items as the one down the street, it's important to build a loyal customer base. I'm actually not a Starbucks fan. I prefer a nice pour over from freshly roasted and ground beans. Bottom line is that the actual coffee doesn't really matter. This place makes me want to come back because they care and they make that point obvious. It's a hard job to stand and be quick on your feet all day; I'm not naive to think that it's simple, nor do I think it's easy to keep a smile throughout the day every day. We've all had crappy days but it's the people around you that make it easier to get through it. One thing is for sure: I'll keep coming back here as long as this team is running the show. read more

I wouldn't normally leave a review for such a large, chain establishment, but I've been getting such crap customer service lately everywhere I go I thought I'd give a thumbs up to these guys. I usually just get a double espresso, nothing fancy. It's not the best coffee in the world, but it gets me over my mid-day slump. These guys are pretty darn friendly, quick and helpful. That is what I look for in a business. So many businesses have lost me as a customer this year just because of their stinky attitudes. Being nice and friendly goes a really long way in a business - so good job guys! read more

The staff is always incredibly friendly and there's a handful of them that have been working there for years and years, so they remember you when you come in if you live in the area. I no longer live in Seattle but when I visit and go to this location I have ALWAYS been treated to fabulous customer svc. here. The baristas are friendly & efficient and I enjoy the neighborhood feel to this Starbucks - complete with even a doggy bowl filled with fresh water outside the store where customers walking their dogs can sit and enjoy their drinks while their furry friends can do the same! read more

The staff is always friendly and pleasant and most of the lovely people here have gotten to know me personal and my usual drink too! The service is really fast and the baristas are super friendly! I go here frequently because it's close to my house to get a caramel macchiato or shaken iced tea. For the food, I usually order egg, sausage and cheddar in a bun (I forget the exact name..) and it tastes really good! Perfectly 5 stars! read more

This Starbucks in particular is really great with friendly staff and there is usually little to no waiting time. They listen to your order and try to tailor your drink to I you. Once they forgot my drink, and after I had been waiting for a few minutes I went up and asked them about it, and they were very apologetic and nice, and gave me a free drink coupon. I continue being extremely impressed by Richmond Beach Starbucks. The manager and partners aim to please, and they're always friendly, efficient, and hard-working! They do an amazing job of juggling both in-store customers as well as Mobile-Order-and-Pay customers. Erin is one of the best, and for over 20 years, she has greeted customers with a big smile and warm greeting, as well as juggling the multiple needs of her customers all at once. The customer service has taken a huge drop at this location. I have made many mobile orders around the greater Seattle area, and haven't had any problems or delays. Until now. I made a mobile order on my Starbucks app for the Richmond Beach store. The order was due to be ready in 3-8 minutes. I walked into the store 8 minutes after I ordered. My drink was ready. I asked about the breakfast sandwich for my son, and was told to wait by the sandwich machine. I stood there and waited 5 minutes, saw the sandwich clerk warm 4 sandwiches while I waited, and saw people who had come in the door after me order & pay at the register, then walk up and claim their sandwiches. I told the sandwich clerk that I had a mobile order, and asked if it was ready - maybe I had missed hearing my name somehow. The clerk said, "Oh, I have a lot of orders here to go through first". I reminded her that mine was a mobile order, and should be bumped to the front of the orders - hence the whole purpose of ordering ahead, to avoid the wait. Her name was Erin. She replied, "I have four more sandwiches ahead of you, I don't know why they advertise the mobile orders that way, that isn't how it's done." I looked at the stack of paper sandwich bags she shook at me, and the names were all handwritten - meaning "in-person" orders - which came clearly after mine, which was a computer printed label. By this time I had been waiting 18 minutes after placing my order. Erin desperately needs retraining, or counseling for her oppositional approach to following her job description, as the Starbucks website advertises the mobile ordering program as this, and I quote: "Now, you'll always have time for that Starbucks run. Place an order and pay ahead on the Starbucks® app for iPhone® or Android™. That means you can walk in and without waiting in line, ask a barista for your freshly made order at the pickup area." https://www.starbucks.com/coffeehouse/mobile-order I was forced to leave without my son's breakfast, and could not make other arrangements as we were now going to be late for his game. This Starbucks is a neighborhood gathering place. If you live in the 'hood, it's hard to go in without seeing someone you recognize. The store is supportive of the community and the staff is ALWAYS friendly and welcoming. They are great at remembering names and drinks. Thumbs up! read more
